I came across this question in one of my classes. There was some thoughts and questions … “Does a serial killer deserve love? Does a rapist deserve love? Does a child molester deserve love?” Then another thought and question came up… “If they got love when they were a child/adult… Do you think they would be doing these heinous actions?” What do you think? Does EVERYONE deserve love? Do most people deserve love? Does NO ONE deserve love? Do only ‘good people’ deserve love? What are your thoughts?
Everyone deserves love and everyone has people loving them, even the serial killers. Their family loves them, some random people love them, there is always someone that loves them. The game changer is the way people express their love for them:is their love good or bad? Do they love them enough to help them become a better person or do they love them without trying to help? Do they love the person they could be or do they love the person they are? Is that love going to be strong enough to make those people stop doing terrible things, is that love strong enough to cure their sick minds or is it just enough to push them do more of the bad stuff? Everyone deserves a second chance and everyone deserves someone trusting them, pushing them to do better. Everyone. Now, not all problems come from bad childhoods, but I'm sure that a good percent of the terrible people out there would be in a different place right now if they had a bit of the love I was talking earlier. Not all of them tho.
Yeah no. That "step mom" that just murdered the step child here in england, after torturing him for months and making him literally believe he was unloved? yeah, she deserves only what she did to him. not love.
I do, to a certain extent. There are men and women, girls and guys who are just awful on here. There are girls on here who kink shame guys, meanwhile she's completely aloof to world issues. That's just one example, but if I speak in a broader sense. Anyone who's a nagger, manipulative, abusive whether physical or verbal, racist or sexist. If anyone reads this and that person does not change their ways, they don't deserve love. They should sit, spend time alone with themselves, sit and contemplate about their life, about their meaning, about their attributes, about their behaviour. Obviously when two toxic people meet each other chances are it won't work. Other times you may have a guy who abuses a girl or a girl who verbally abuses a guy, those types of people don't deserve love or a relationship until they truly fix themselves. And fixing ourselves is never an easy task, I am not perfect but at least I can admit that.
Everybody SHOULD get the love they need, but nobody DESERVES anything.
When people think they DESERVE something (whether it is love, promotion or birthday presents), they will DEMAND it and if they don't get it, they will BLAME and hate those that they thought were responsible for giving them what "they deserved but didn't receive". After all, the feeling that someone deserves to be loved by their crush is what fuels some stalkers.
Love shouldn't be about DESERVING or DEMANDING. Ideally, love should be about GIVING and PROVIDING without the expectation of getting anything in return
I'd say yes. At least, in the beginning. Now that love can be taken away. But I think if they were loved, we wouldn't have murderers, rapists, molesters, and domestic abusers, to begin with. Then again, I've literally never been loved and never had a family, so I don't exactly know the feeling, myself.
So yes, I think everyone deserves love, until the point they demonstrate hate (and violence). Then, they no longer deserve love.
It’s of that you say serial killers and racists. For I would hold they do not deserve love but they seem to have no shortage of adoring females. This is a phenomenon that has been observed since Mr. Bundy went to trial in Florida. Back to your question yes every one deserves to be loved. Indeed had those serial killers or rapists experienced love in their formative years their behavior possibly could have been different. We have a problem in modern western society though hence all the unhappy people.
I was raised to believe that a b = c. Your actions earn specific consequences. Really this mentality leads to people feeling as if they deserve something because they did a thing. This is called entitlement. This is why you might talk to a guy and he comes off as having entitlement issues when you don't go out with him or you don't have sex with him quickly enough.
The reality is that life isn't fair. A b seldom equals c. Believing anything else results in unfair expectations that make life a lot harder than it should be.
No one deserves love, which is why you should never take it for granted.
As for the second thought/question... it may be that they would be a different kind of person had they been shown more love. Yet we cannot rule out that they might be this way because someone loved them too much or in the wrong way. Human beings are psychologically delicate creatures, more so than most of us would care to admit. Especially in our formative years.
The only unconditional love should be from parents towards children. And everyone has parents, technically, so I guess they deserve that love in that sense. Other than that, however, the idea that love should be some universal thing pretty much annihilates the concept of love in the first place.
No. There are people who do not deserve compassion since they have shown none to others. There are people who deserve to pay for heinous deeds they have done. There are people deserving to be exposed and used as an example of what one should avoid by any means necessary. Give compassion to ones who deserve it.

NO and it's for obvious reasons. People with natural narcissistic and psychopathic nature should be kicked to curb. My roomate is loved and cherished by her family, her mother is the best anyone could wish for but despite that she has thoughts of throwing acid on any decent looking girl's face, murder people who disagree with her or even wear certain accessories she doesn't like, obviously she will be arrested so instead she SPREADS fake rumors, gossips and insults them terribly behind their backs and sometimes in front.
