Why do so many people say, "everyone is deserving of love"? This is not true?

Is this just a feel good expression? Or do people really believe this. Because if so then that is a lot of what's wrong with dating.

Not to be confused with "OPPORTUNITY". I do think everyone deserves the OPPORTUNITY for love. But understand opportunity is just that. You don't get to dictate what those opportunities are.

You see a lot of things as transactional, and if that’s the case and you’re content then continue to do so. If you feel you cannot be loved without having put in effort, either romantically of platonically, then continue to earn it and be worthy of it. I think the saying's for people who feel like they're not worthy of love, like maybe someone who can't walk and needs help all the time, or someone with life threatening diseases or cognitive disorder. Sometimes, you feel like you'll never find love because of the way you were born or what happened to you. But I think everyone deserves to persue love and be loved, even if it feels impossible. Thats just my interpretation of the saying

I think every person is deserving of being treated with dignity and respect as long as they do so to others. The concept that everyone is deserving of love in a romantic sense is just an idealistic fantasy. In reality romantic love isn't for everyone, it's actually a very shallow thing.
