Good of bad for what part of the society, that's the question. Before the revolution of the 60s women had much more value in terms of sex, respect and reverence, literally no man had the right to have sex with a woman before offering dowry or having a good job, he was forced to talk to the father of the lady and hopefully get a kiss before marriage. Since families were way more structured, women's body had a price that most men today wouldn't be able to pay.
If you think about it in economical terms, the revolution devaluated the price of sex because men no longer needed to compromise to them or their family, and, since women are the key-holders of that, the price os having a relationship with them declined drastically. Now men can have sex with a woman behind a trash can in a Tuesday night for a very low cost, and even if she tries not dance to the music and be "traditional", she'll be pressured to act like a slot because if she doesn't do it, other women will for the sake of the attention of high value men.
The revolution really messed up with dating, relationships and love above all. If I were to point out the ones who benefit from that was the high value man. In the past most men had at best three partners throughout their lives and now these rich, handsome and popular man can have sex with countless women, something that would be hard even for a king in the Middle Ages.
I don't even need to mention the consequences of that, divorce rates reaching the sky, selfish people thinking solely about their own hedonistic pleasure, Incels, women severely damaged philologically wise, kids being raised without one of the parents, inconsequential men having their dreams destroyed by alimony.
The only ones who we can call victorious are the rich, handsome and popular guys out there. They have sex with tons of philologically damaged ladies when they're young and then go to eastern Europe, Thailand or some other countryside area to marry a traditional woman when they hit fourty, the damaged ladies are left alone and the low value man are forced to marry them.53 Reply- +1 y

Women like that they can be sluts and that this is normalized
men are angry because once we are getting a bit older and looking for a good wife we discover that they are in short supply. Well raised women used to hold male sexuality in check, now that this barrier is gone we are devolving into baboons. Most men donāt get to fuck around as hard because a lot of us arenāt attractive until our mid 20s. Women get to start in highschool so they enjoy a decade plus of pure hedonism if they so desire. Ofc men can do the same from 25-35 but I think by that point many of us are looking for a good long term mate41 Reply

Good question but I would say its been very bad for society as a whole. It's caused a lot of damage to pair bonding, trust, fidelity, family units, mental health, overall happiness, etc, etc. At the end of the day I think we all start out along the lines of demisexual. We end up getting exposed to a lot we shouldn't and burn out. Then it takes crazy things to get us off or going or satisfied. We are always looking for the greener pasture until it's too late and we are sucked into a world of loneliness and depression. The smart people get out while the getting is good. Its not good for men or women to have lots of sex partners. It does things to them mentally. The so called players can't keep a relationship long term and view women as F meat. The girls are so burned out from the guys they are mentally all screwed up, untrusting, jaded, and hard to stimulate and please for a lot of guys that would have been an otherwise great catch for them if they werent desensitized. And ofc our declining birthrates bode poorly for the future of this nation.

Very true, and very well said.
+1 yIt caused nothing but damage. And the worst part is, at least in United States this so called ""progress"" is somewhat irreversible, until we reach a total animalistic levels. This sexual revolution is only beneficial to 10% - 15% of men who are naturally handsome and have everything going for them, the rest are losers. As it goes for women, they are in a whole lot worse position, because while they sleep around with an Army, time flies and ones they reach 30-35 they are desperately trying to find those 10% - 15% guys, unfortunately most will never get them, because top 10% - 15% are interest in younger girls Only and rightfully so.

No more information is required, not the years not what kind of revolution was happening nothing. Right now where in weak times.40 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course bad.
- it devaluated sex to only satisfying sexual needs, ripping it of emotions
- a spread of porn, which serves for no purpose and only makes people addict
- a collapse of marriage (a very high % of children is now raised only by a mother)
- more divorces
- more abortions
- more suicides ( in last years US teenagers commit 3 times more suicides then they used to in 60s)10 Reply- 734 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yWhy tell us we're free and then tell us that our sexuality is only allowed to be a specific way? These are systems of control dating back 2000 years, or so. The sexual revolution is only a part of systemically knocking down religious and societal (forced) norms and expectations.

+1 ybad. when take out values, rules, standards, new ones occur which are repeats of old ones. it doesn't work. nothing wrong with women taking greater roles in life, but the children have paid the price of change.

+1 yConsidering how repressed we were in the 1950s it's been a good thing. You can argue it's gone too far now but in the 60s-80s it was fine, at least for the majority of us who didn't get AIDS.

Thatās good for them, but it prevented people like me from ever wanting a relationship again. So, thereās that
+1 yI think it was a good thing because it led to less conservative views around sex. And anyway I like nude beaches and swinger parties.

Everyone who dislikes can f off to middleeastern. You are literally forced to be incel/femcel. It is way and way worse for women. Women can't even have bfs without getting called easy or whores. I wish that men get treated worse like women in my culture at least
Has the sexual revolution led to more harm than good?
