No idea what your motivations are, but Colorado.
Florida, in my experience, is one of those places you visit but never live. I know some people who live down there and apparently it's rather affordable. Probably because of the annual floods or the population being like 80% tourists.
South Carolina is in the South. Might have better luck towards the coast, but otherwise, basically anything south of the Mason-Dixon line is a no-go for me personally.
Virginia wouldn't be too bad of a bet. I honestly don't know much about it but I know it's relatively politically moderate, populated but not super crowded.
For California, it would only be worth it if you steer clear of any big city. Drive to a big city for vacation or a day with friends? Sure. But living in a big city? SF if you want to be a surgeon and still be homeless. LA if you want to be the person the surgeon is fixing up. I almost moved there to work at Tesla. Would have done that for a couple years then moved up to the Pacific NW.
Colorado has a relatively sparse population while having big cities. Of all the states, it is the most fit by a rather significant amount. The mountains are gorgeous, but you can also go with the plains and still avoid some of the tornados the plains states get. Politically it's blue, but more libertarian-blue. Haven't been in a while so maybe it's changed since I was last there.

I voted Colorado, because it's beautiful and they have great weed, and high elevation which is good for your health. California would be second, but work pays low and taxes are high and there are douchebag rich people everywhere, so it's not as good as Colorado.
VA around washington, dc is nice because they get a lot of free government money. But again, douche rich people.
South Carolina and Florida are redneck wastelands. If you can live in a bunker and not see anyone, those states do have decent weather though. Good luck.
Overall, Virginia ranks the best in terms of healthcare, education, economy, infrastructure, opportunity, fiscal stability, crime, and natural environment. You could always visit your favorite landmarks without having to live there.
Uh it depends if you want to adult and not let the government tell you what to eat for brunch go to Florida

Anywhere BUT California! There's a reason tens of thousands of people are leaving in droves. I'd say Virginia is best, and Colorado is nice too if you don't mind the cold. Florida is DEFINITELY not for everyone! If you've got other options, you probably wouldn't want Florida; the terrible weather being one reason why.
It depends on what you like. Are you warm weather or cold weather person. How young are you (i know you're not 106 lol)? What hobbies do you have? I said Colorado because it's got the most promise for beginners in my opinion, but Florida if you like warm and beaches.
From your list, Florida is my recommendation. No state income tax and warm climate. Make sure you live inland though, so rising sea levels don't affect you if you were to live along the coast.
Don't come to California. It sucks here for normal people. If it wasn't for my mom and a few good friends being here I would leave.
Florida. Why? The greatest governor in the world. Also great weather. Don't go to California. Too many communists there.
Florida is ok, South Carolina is better , but Indiana is great and so is Texas.
Alaska. If the dollar collapses and we go full Venezuela or USSR, that distance and terrain is your friend.
