Rockets flying at the speed of sound have existed for a while. What makes a war with Russia so bad is not that anyone is further ahead. It is actually how close our technology is to each other's capabilities and if China ever joined in. Also, with all this woke training in the U. S. military you are getting servicemembers who are mentally weak and unprepared for war. The Russians are not going to be worried about your race, lgbt, etc. They will be worried about winning in combat using any means necessary.
Given the globalization of economies and interdependence on technology, trade, resources, IT, etc. the chances of two super powers engaging in an all out war are very unlikely. Reason being is if Russia attacked the US the damage, sanctions and repercussions would ultimately harm their country as well.
What’s more likely and threatening is military conflict with rogue countries (North Korea being the most threatening). Russia and the US might engage in another Cold War in some aspects but an actual hot war is very unlikely. Nukes mean MAD (mutually assured destruction).

First of all, he isn't "threatening the West"; the West is threatening Russia, and has been carrying out those threats for decades now (ex. the expansionist march East by NATO, the encirclement of the USSR/Russia, the active support of elements hostile to Russia, like the mujahadeen in Afghanistan during the 1980's, the Contras in Central America). Putin is just fed up with the West's duplicity, and you would be too if you were in his position.
Secondly, those "new rockets" aren't actually in service. They're still at the design and testing stage, and we all know how much Putin likes to brag about what Russia supposedly has (and which always turns out to be totally unimpressive anyway).
The country that worries me the most is actually the United States. They're the ones who are always starting wars, especially when the Democrats are in power, as they are now.
Probably be another cold war. Hopefully thats all it will escalate to.
I seriously doubt that they could win against the US, our tech may not be as advanced but that doesn't mean they will win. They don't balance cost effectiveness as well as we do. Sure the have the most advanced tank but we can mod our M1 Abrams with a M2 coming out soon and a replacement for the Hummer soon too. Also our airforce is still dominant and we have more aircraft carriers than all the other nations combined.

Germany started loosing because they exhaust raw materials to produce weapons and food being surrounded. Russia has only had to fight one front. We had to fight two fronts in WWII.
The US is the soul super power of the world, meaning we are able to take on three major wars simultaneously.
There wouldn't be a war between USA and Russia. Putin just wants NATO to stop its extension to the Russian borders and to give Russia security guarantees. If NATO would ignore it then Russian hypersonic, anti satellite weapon, nuclear weapon, missiles would be aimed at the objects located in the US and world would come back to the atmosphere of the Cold War.

We pay more on "defense" than the next 24 countries combined (that still true) and about 20 of them are recognized allies.
