Masculinity and femininity are complimentary. If Masculinity is toxic, then femininity is also toxic. Feminists will not say it directly, but they believe it. Why? They believe that being submissive to a man is equal to being a slave, and that doing nice things for your husband makes you weak. You cannot say it's not true, because it's out there. Just go and twitter and you will quickly find out.
Anyway, I digress. See, my point is that feminists do not believe in gender roles, so it makes sense to them that the Masculinity-femininity gender dynamic is flawed, which begs the question: if feminists believe masculinity is toxic, why do they act so masculine? In order to understand this, let's take a step back. What is masculinity? Well, basic traits include but are not limited to: being assertive, stoic, competitive and demanding respect. When men are assertive, they are called out for "mansplaining". When they are stoic, they are called out for "holding emotions". When they are competitive, they are shamed for it. I think you understand the point. You will find out that those same feminists ARE assertive, they ARE competitive and try to be dominant over men. By their definition, isn't that "toxic masculinity"? If basic traits of masculinity are toxic, that means you believe that fundamental state of being masculine is toxic by definition, so why take part in it as a woman? That defeats the point.
On the other hand, they promote feminine characteristics to men so they can lower their guard. They would say stuff like "it's OK to cry and show emotion", or "you can identify however you want" or "embrace your feminine side". You get the point. This programming happens a lot nowadays, and trust that I would know about it because I had a feminist English teacher in high school 🙄
Finally, I want to say this: feminists have waged a war on masculinity, so I wouldn't be surprised they would use such terms. If you want to win the war, you first have to win the battles, which it seems like they have. The social programming in schools and media is widespread. If we are to go back to the norm, we have to correct misinformation about what it is to be masculine, and why it's no "toxic".
Feminist made modern regret doing 50/50 with men.
Here is an example. I was kidnapped and molested as a kid. Since it happened early enough I had not devloped any mental and emotional skills. Due to those skills developing over many years, I wound up not having mental or emotional skills for most of my life so far. This left me a mental mess because everything else that happened in my life that required those skills to deal with simply started stacking on top. I got to a point where numbing myself with alcohol or drugs was a good idea. Or killing myself. Because going through therapy did mean working through everything did lead to some break downs and crying. But if I wanted to be a Alpha Male I had to forgo the therapy and wind up dying of a raging addiction or killing myself.
Funny thing about that though I came out of therapy more of a Alpha then the majority of men that claim to be. Because a big part of the therapy was bringing everything up and more or less living through it again on a mental and emotional level. To the point where a person go through the same therapy has serious issues sleeping during it. Because you get to experience the event over again when you try to sleep. The majority of Alpha types would be dying of a overdose or jumping off a building if they had to experience one night of the crap I was dreaming about. You idiots better be glad the people like me are not Freddy Krueger because I'd be visiting all of you in your dreams.
I think men need to get therapy and support but do it discreetly. We unfortunately lose much more face if we go public about that vs. how some women behave. They tend to post more on social media, write blogs or go straight public with their struggles. Look at how many female celebrities act compared to male celebrities.
Its a huge shitty double standard. But I used to be that guy who wore my heart on my sleeve. Women just love love and love to friéndzone guys who act like that.
It's behaviour that harms themselves, people around them and society as a whole caused by outdated gender norms for men. These include stoicism, social dominant and rejection of anything feminine.
Behaviour includes not expressing vulnerability, misogyny, homophobia, aggression and overcompetitiveness.
It becomes extra toxic when men hold these gender norms up as well for other men. Telling them to man-up, encouraging aggression to others to establish dominance and ridicule any feminine quality of others.
So are all male gender norms toxic? I personally don't like binary gender norms at all, because it perpetuates the idea that acting one way is inherently "feminine" or "masculine". Expression of masculinity and feminity are for every individual different, especially condemning others for not complying to an individuals idea of expressing feminity or masculinity.
I do recognize though that many people have a need to belong to a group of their gender and want to express belonging by acting in "masculine" ways. Masculine gender norms that aren't as toxic are devotion to work, pride in excelling at sports, and providing for one's family. However taken to the extreme and pressing others in that gender role is still toxic.
How are stoicism and aggression toxic? Those are the traits that drive us to be resilient and achieve excellence. It's what allows up to survive and protect. The traits themselves aren't toxic. Their misapplication is. When women misuse feminine traits, why isn't that called toxic femininety? All human beings are a mix of feminine and masculine. These traits are identified that way because of the sec that, on average, expresses them more.
Allow me top put it to you this way: these are evolutionary characteristics that have helped mankind survive for centuries.
1) Stoicism. Why are we stoic? If the captain of the ship encounters a problem, should he tell everyone the issue so they can panic, or should he try to solve the problem first, and if he cannot avoid it, then let people know? Why do governments not inform their citizens about certain classified materials? The answer is very simple. As the leaders of our households, it hows that we got it under control, which reduces stress on the rest of the family.
B) Social dominance. How is that? The laws of nature dictate that it is the survival of the fittest. In today's modern age, it's not necessarily in a physical way, but economically. Now, with great power comes great responsibility. Those men on top of the pyramid are desired by most women, so they have more options to choose from. This gives them more of an ability to pass on their genes, in a process known as "natural selection". Maybe you should tell women not to go after high caliber men. Oops? It's also in their biology.
C) Rejection of everything feminine. See, men compete for resources and women compete for men. That's the way it's always been. If men find out another man is lacking, they will test him. If you want respect in this world, you've got to earn it. This is why men do their best to be more competitive and masculine not just for female validation, but to get more respect from other men in that regard. If you don't have respect, people are definitely going to try you and you will be a pushover as a man. Men value respect more than women do, and being a feminine man does not earn you any respect.
@jerdanro there are times and places to be stoic and aggressive. Maybe in a threatening situation, but are we really constantly in a threatening situation? Also, is that only for men? If you stay stoic and aggressive, you become a problem for yourself and for those around you. Then it's toxic. Especially if you drive other men to also stay stoic and aggressive. You can't be in constant "alert" mode and use healthy coping mechanisms to process the stress. I think it's especially in the presence of rejecting anything feminine, which is for example being emotional that it becomes toxic.
I thought about toxic feminity and tbh I think it's difficult. I don't want to say it doesn't exist, but it's more that being feminine in a patriarchal society doesn't give you much power. So therefore femininity is already looked down upon. Also I would think of tranditional feminine traits, such as gracefulness, gentleness, empathy, humility and sensitivity. I think an excess of these traits to the individual makes them too vulnerable and could lead to depression. Would say that's toxic, but quite internalized. I guess also instructing other women to be humble a lot is also toxic.
Women can definitely be toxic to other people, but I don't know if that's because of toxic feminity, rather than internalized misogyny and holding the same gender roles for men.
I agree, all humans are a mix of traits, both feminine and masculine. You should wonder if these traits are nature or nurture though and feminine traits are more looked down upon and don't give the same power from peers than male traits.
It also becomes toxic when other people tell you "you are a male so you should be..." etc. Then it's not just identification of gender in traits, it becomes a gender role.
Oops replied too soon. I disagree that stoicism or aggression is only appropriate when being threatened. Aggression isn't only about physical violence and stoicism isn't about not feeling feelings, it's about not allowing them to rule you. You seem to be saying that masculinity is to blame for bad behavior and women are victims. What aspects of patriarchy have you experienced?
@Lucy-123 Well, that's what your female ancestors have done for the past centuries and what has kept society going. Of course you always have a choice to make. However, you also have a specific time window. If you hit the wall, then the choice has already been made for you and you should only at that point stay with your career. You can be young and stubborn that's fine, but in 20 years your options will dwindle, and you will need about $2.7 million USD for retirement between ages 60 and 80, which if you are making the average of $50k a year will definitely not be enough to get you your retirement fund when you are single. Medical costs go up when you are older, you need to eat like other humans and also you need to have an emergency fund. Let's just say you will have to be overworked to survive retirement as a single woman. But wait, it gets worse. If you are a single mother, now you have to also worry about your kids college tuition, you have to feed them everyday and take care of their medical bill. Now your expenses have gotten more, so you are less likely to be able to save up. See, women don't think about things like this, but that's fine. What we tell you at the end if the day is of you have left, please don't return back when you are older and desperate.
@Lucy-123 The story is not very different in the UK as you still still need your retirement fund, and the standard of living is lower than in the US. Men on average make more than women, and spend less. Most men don't spend on 500 dollar haircuts or makeup and all the extras that women do. We are more disciplined with money, thus we are more likely to be in a better place financially at retirement.
The three core components of toxic masculinity are:
Antifeminity – this is an idea that real men reject anything feminine, including showing emotions or asking for help.
Toughness – this is a flawed belief that one needs to be emotionally unavailable, physically strong, and aggressive to be accepted as a man.
Power – it is often assumed that a real man should be powerful or g high societal standing to gain respect from others.
Toxic masculinity refers to common hegemonic masculinity traits that include mental and physical toughness, emotional insensitivity, aggression, heterosexism, or discrimination against people who are transgender, stoicism or not displaying emotion, self-sufficiency, and no help-seeking.
Overemphasis on these masculine ideals can cause a harmful imbalance in men trying to live up to these traits. Some men and masculinities imbalances include aggression, entitlement, sexual aggression or control, chauvinism, and sexism, showing no emotion or suppressing emotions, hyper-competitiveness, need to dominate or control others, an inclination towards violence, or glorification of violence, isolation, and lack of socialization skills, and low empathy.
@Subarugirl My continued survival.
I've came to terms that I'm an expendable, worthless human being a long fucking time ago. I can die at anytime and no one would care, and I'm fine with that. Human lives are the cheapest commodity on the planet, especially men. Emotions are often used to manipulate people, and any "need for approval" would make me a willing slave. I live out of spite and nothing gets me down.
@Subarugirl I don't know what the problem is with coming to terms with oblivion early. I will die forgotten and it's not that big of a deal. I'm going to die a pointless, meaningless death like so many men before me, so why let it bother me.
"Emotions are a human confusion, it’s not gender specific..."
Never said anything about it being gender specific, I merely stated that feelings are easily manipulated.
lmfaoo this explains me. So well.
Its not even funny 🤣🤣.
Guys my age are broke as fuck, Dont own anything and no balls of any kind
a lot can't get a girl to sleep with them to save their life. Or even a date
You dont get anywhere in this world being weak. As a man,
I dont let anyone or anything get in my way if a girl wants to stick around cool, if not, fuck off il replace her in a couple months,
I got pretty far in life. Very early, And it didn’t happen because im weak.
@Subarugirl Could you actually explain you case with some evidence to your claims?
@Subarugirl Yes. All your doing is reciting dogma.
@Subarugirl No one actually gives a single fuck about men, thats the truth of the matter. No one cares and its all about appearing like you give a fuck.
@Subarugirl Men are merely Economic Units at the end of the day. At the end of the day no one will care about they feel, they just produce until they die and thats what society wants. Civilization demands that men be drones.
@Subarugirl You still have inherently more value. And whats so pessimistic about the objective truth of the matter?
@Subarugirl " @Ryfyle well if you want to be all pessimistic, that’s how women are treated too. We are all exploited for what we can offer."
Thank you for proving my point.
@Subarugirl Your last statement pretty much conceded my point that no one actually gives a single fuck about men.
@Subarugirl To make money off losers and to keep them from eating a gun. Can't tax dead tax slaves. Honestly, its a big waste of time and none of those organizations last a year.
@Subarugirl Just honest observations as a man.
@jerdanro re: your comment "well said", if you thought so, you might be interested in the full article she plagiarized "her answer" from @ https://mensgroup.com/toxic-masculinity/
@zeitgeist057 Whole article was so gay it sucked the fun out of gay and made it boring and normal.

Toxic masculinity/femininity: when gender norms create peer pressure that prevents human beings from being who they are and what they want to be.
Each has their own stereotypes and pitfalls but it all amounts to the same feelings of superiority, inadequacy, anger or confusion arising that then pose difficulties during social or societal interactions.
Masculine example: As a man you are head of the household. Be dominant and aggressive in everything you do, and don’t show feelings.
Feminine example: As a woman you have to be dainty, polite and subservient to men. Be gentle and emotional and always pretty.
I am female but I am neither of the two - I have my own set of strengths and weaknesses, as do many others. It is, however, not uncommon for people to feel that such definitions resonate with them. Some people even identify with the opposite assigned to their gender. Others feel these qualities more or less on a gradient - the more extreme cases often being more vocal about enforcing these concepts in others.
Ultimately, none of it is toxic per se - it only becomes toxic when it hurts people. Typical victims are men who feel they aren’t man enough because they can’t be the breadwinner. Alternately, we have women who hate themselves because they don’t believe they are pretty enough. There are also combinations of toxic masculinity and femininity. A classic case is the woman expecting a man to rescue her suddenly finding herself in abusive relationships with men who turn to violence to assert dominance at home because they are unable to work through problems and feelings of inadequacy.
We need to hear more about Toxic Femininity? 🤷🏼♀️ There are masculine traits that are desirable, but some that are not 👎 and there are feminine traits that are desirable, but some that are not 👎 so it just appears to me, as a woman, that some women and ‘hardened feminists’ just like to - often hypocritically and with double standards - whinge, bitch and complain about men! 🙄 It’s pathetic really. If you want to highlight and talk about ‘toxic masculinity’, then be willing to bring ‘toxic femininity’ to the table also - both should be addressed if you’re rational, objective and fair.
It's the double standard. It sucks. I got told to go to the back of the line McDonald's ( I was first) because I was male and there were like 5-6 women behind me. Sucks. I can't say anything because I don't think anyone will believe me. Im a guy and I'm tired of being called pig and automatically considered a potential rapist because im male. Im all for women's rights and stuff. But I'm not personally responsible for everything that women have gone through. Toxic femininity has demonized men and instead of trying to be better than their "oppressors" they've acted the same way. I agree with you.
@Hellraiser1984 really is this a real thing come on
Exactly. Acting how like you're gender is suppose to act can never be a bad thing, if you're acting like a jerk, there's another word for it.. it's called being an asshole... No need to try and use our gender as an insult
@blueflameleo yep.
@cassie_94 aren't you the obsessed girl with ballbusting? 😂😂 isen't that a feminist wish or not? 🤔
Wants that the whole martial arts classes to legalize for girld "kicking the balls" but how about legalizing "punching the boobs and kicking the vagina" 🤣🤣
Miss cassie you're a twisted lady but still makes me laugh 😅
Not very good at describing or defining things but I can tell you that lots of the men on this app definitely have it. The more triggered they are by this, the more so. FYI, I am not a modern feminist by any means, I actually care about both genders, just hear me out. There is toxicity everywhere, whether you like it or not, you can’t throw the word feminazi onto a term that actually exists just because you don’t like it like half these comments. There are tons of feminazi terms out there but this is not one of them. Men who have to reassure themselves and verbally state that they’re an alpha are typically what I think of with that term. ESPECIALLY men who make fun of other men for not being “man enough”. Men are humans, they have feelings. They’re allowed to express them and cry and what not. To shame one for having emotion is stupid. Why do you think male suicide rates are at an all time high? Having emotions, taking care of your hygiene and liking certain things don’t make you any less of a man. And those who think otherwise are a prime example of: toxic masculinity. Toxic feminity is a thing too but that’s a whole other topic that we can get into some other time.
It's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. It's a statement as to say that there are negative components in a positive trait like masculinity. All of these negative components are not found on a masculine person because they involve the lack or impulse control which you wouldn't expect to see in a mature person.
It's nothing but a feminist strawman of what masculinity is. It's designed to make masculinity look bad but at the same time trying to say that this isn't the case as they struggle to name a single positive masculine trait that is unique to men It's only the "negative ones"
What's worse is that I'm pretty sure this is an actual psychological term now in the APA guidelines, I'm no psychologist but I'm pretty sure they must follow that no matter how bullshit it is. Even if it doesn't make men or masculinity look bad, it tries to bad a one-size-fits-all solution to everything which isn't how this works. You can't just ascribe any problem that a man might seek help for with this because it doesn't help, it needs to be considered in an individual basis.
Then you'd get interactions like this with your therapist: "what's that? Your wife died? And you want to not let her death affect you because you feel that she would want you live your best life no matter what happens? Well according to my book here, you are *actually* holding it all in because you think emotions are girly and therefore you must hate women. Sounds like you got some toxic masculinity going there bud" expect you're going to get it to you as some flowery corporate speak.
All of this, and they wonder why men aren't bothering to seek help, this would only make it worse.
Its something feminists came up with to
attempt to expose negative male gender norms in an attempt to help men yet it is instead causing society to view men negatively. This is what you get when women try to fix something 🤷🏻♂️ a whole gender is demonized by society
No its not a bs term. Feminists saw how men were telling other men to 'Be a man' and to not cry and dumb shit like that. Pretty much pushes the 'You can't be raped by a woman' bs and makes men think anything remotely feminine or emotion based is weak or lesser.
Other women are also telling men that dumb shit too by the way
I was raised with toxic masculinity. It really f s you up as a kid. If I cried on front of my father's stepfather he would trade me and call me a fag and usually punch me in the face if I told him he was cruel. Or even worse. His generation was hardcore. Get drunk fight go to work I'm the morning. My father was less but still hard. The hardcore guys are usually sexual predators., Violent, and do not make good fathers. Hell most "Men" today have kids they never visit or care about. But I'm wrong because sincerely want love and marriage and want to be there for my kids. I'm wrong because I'm not trying to get laid every night. Showing love as a "Man" is something you never do or talk about. It means you're gay to them. In male dominance you destroy the weak and the gay men. Toxic masculinity is real and sucks to deal with for anyone.
@rockytherock Then you clearly have never seen a man.
@Hellraiser1984 Clearly they didn't hit you hard enough.
@Hellraiser1984 Wife's boyfriend throw out your Funko Pops and Soylent? Could you lash out in a more pathetic fashion? Wittle ol' nu-male angy wangy?
@Hellraiser1984 Classic internet tough guy, just brimming with homophobia and classism. Do you roll on in to gas stations in your Bugati and shit on the floor to prove your superiority? Talk is cheap and lies are plentiful on the internet. The least you could have done is lie and say you were in the Marines? Who wants to be some Army POG welfare queen?
I really do appreciate the multiple replies of pure, impotent anger. Could have been the bigger man and just walked away, but you keep taking the bait. Keep up the good work, Champ. ;)
@Ryfyle go fuck your mama bitch. And your dog. Plus no one cares about you. No one does. At the end of the day I won because you're a little bitch and hey I'm the good guy who doesn't want to abuse children and women. You'll just go with your worthless little life until you finally piss off the wrong person and get your ass beaten and end as a bitch in prison. I served my country. And I'm proud of that. And my grandfather was a Marine. So do go fuck off. Idiot
@Hellraiser1984 So, I was curious why you would just have the biggest, flailing, shit fit. And guess who left there profile wide open. You are a bona fide train wreck of a man and I would never trade places with you. Holy fuck, when I get a hunch, boy does it pay the fuck off. Your pathetic threats are now tinged with a flavor of sad. You have a Cargo Ship worth of baggage, a CVS flowing in your veins, a trick hip, and have spilled your guts multiple times to strangers on the internet. Don't worry, I've archived it for posterity and integrity.
I will be the first to admit that I'm a fucking monster, a straight up horrible human being , and will burn in hell, but Thank god I'm not you.
@Ryfyle you said it yourself you're a monster. You would abuse women and children love Trump fuck dogs. Yeah I'm better than you. Always will be and I'm glad I'm not you no one will miss your worthless ass. Not even your "God" will. Enjoy being a bitch in hell. I won you said yourself. Which means you are a loser. Bitch.
@Hellraiser1984 You're a 38 year old virgin, fat, lives off the tax payer, and your so stuck in the past that you can't grow or have kids. You are comically insecure and clearly don't know when you are being fucked with.
"You would abuse women and children love Trump fuck dogs." Did you have a seizure with this part?
Man, the rest of your outburst makes me think that you may have a narcissistic personalty going on as well. You sure are a ton of fun. You don't how much fun I'm having. This made my week. 😘
Lol this is exactly toxic masculinity. Guy says one thing a bit vulnerable and 2 other guys tell him to man-up. Ryfyle is an absolutely disgusting person for wishing upon someone that he should've been beaten more. Child abuse is not a joke and tbh I feel sorry for you projecting your inner desires of being vulnerable by telling other men they can't be vulnerable either.
@Hellraiser1984 sorry that happened to you. I hope you can find a way to heal and no child should be treated that way by a parent.
@rockytherock yeah but what feminists just don't like to see other women telling men to be a man and also giving double standards about rape. Not even appreciating men for all their hard work that actually change the world to make people like you comfortable and have something to eat but cry once it's all shame and also blame guys for their issues. In reality, you don't tell feminist to appreciate men but tell them to baby down so that you can have the power which is something you fail to see. You not mentioning the other side of the story about how women also treat men poorly kinda indicates that you just like to blame masculinity and whine about how toxic is.
@Aiko_E_Lara we do, women uphold the patriarchy as well, however people tend to care more about the opinion of men within patriarchy. Doesn't mean feminism condones reinforcing toxic gender roles by women though.
I don't know what type of double standards in rape you talk about. Wanna elaborate?
I think we do appreciate men for their work, but women work too and we just want a balance where not 1 gender is only valued by work and the other gender is only valued by something else. Men aren't stoic money makers. They're people who have vulnerabilities and shouldn't only be valued by their ability to work.
You should ask yourself, what is power? How do you obtain it? I guess you are right that women get to work and have an opinion to take in consideration so therefore men do hand over some power to women, however, I think that's fair? 51% of the people are women (by sex) so shouldn't they have a voice then? It's also not fair for men to decide and work for women if they can work and have that opinion themselves.
Then if that's the case then you would have also acknowledge the fact that people also do care about the opinion of women. But the question is do they really voice out and persevere in letting their opinions heard? What you don't really see is that a reason why men's opinion may seem like it is listened more often is because they also had been turned down so many times but that's not stopping them for voicing out. They don't cry and play the gender victim card whenever anyone oppose their idea. If you really think that men had been deciding for women then how about you take a look at how much men who actually failed in getting power because of all the obstacles they faced? There are way more homeless men than homless women and those powerful men don't even benefit those average men in any meaningful way. So with that being said, its not only women who are told to back off. Luckily for you tho, you have your own women's shelter just in case you fall behind and nobody is even funding for men's shelter that's why they get shut down.
And also why are you asking me about rape when i am not the one who's talking about rape in the first? Can you read the original comment? She is talking about it is men's notion that men can't be raped therefore i am talking about the amount of women who also have that in their minds so it's not just men's thinking.
Nobody here is saying that women don't work. But what still stands is that men are the once more likely to work in those death risky workplaces which provides everyone basic needs to survive according to the statistics. And the statistics still say that there are some women working in there so it means it is not impossible for women to work in those kind of places. It's still their choices. And it is not saying that women don't work at all and shouldn't be appreciated. In fact woman's day is more celebrated than men's day and Father's day is a joke to some of those feminists. Also the fact that toxic masculinity is widely talked about in the feminism community and rarely even talk about toxic femininity. And let's say for example what if there's actually men who decide? It's still your choice to show perseverance or just give up and look for a man who can do things for you like what women do back then. It's all your choice before you say it's not fair.
@spuitkaas So you're going to to butt in on a conversation and take the side of the narcissist? Straight up every question he has asked has been demanding a pity party from women. Then he locked down his entire account. Narcissists bullshit a lot about there lives and are the primary drivers of domestic abuse.
How far does your Savior Complex go when you're are molly coddling an abuser? You Euros really loving trampling others on your high horses.
So you want to jus allow weak men to be weak and be scared to do things and be a pushover crybaby wimp?
Men are suppose to be men and encouraging them to be tough is a good thing.. unless you want the world to be full of Softy scaredy cat fairy boys... But I guess you want that... Hey jus don't complain in five years that "where have all the masculine men gone... I can only find gay guys"
But I guarantee that would be a complaint soon, y'all don't know what you want
Also don't complain when a robber brakes in and your scaredy cat feminine boyfriend won't defend you. You brought it on yourselves for encouraging men to be feminine
@Aiko_E_Lara When the actual fuck did I actually say any of this and holy shit learn to use a comma. I
" Pretty much pushes the 'You can't be raped by a woman' bs and makes men think anything remotely feminine or emotion based is weak or lesser." Learn to read what you said
@Aiko_E_Lara But where did you get me wanting to have more power than men and wanting to make them weaker? Men didn't build the world or the technological advancements. Many men stole womens' credit for those advancements. Don't argue with me on that, it's literally historically proven. You're the one here whining, I was just explaining why it's bad and why it inconveniences all genders. Why are you being so sensitive about this? I literally also said it's women treating men wrongly by telling them to 'be a man.' You worded your response so shitly it was tough to read.
And where did you get the idea of me actually referring to you? I'm talking about the other side of the story and what your fellow feminists do. Did I say it's you?
Does just saying "it's historically proven" automatically make you any more truthful? Spoilers, it doesn't really. One can easily say "because history said so" just like how anyone can just say "earth is flat because science said so"
Giving the other side of the story makes me the whiny one? I mean sure it's ok for you to talk about men but it's whiny if i talk about women. It's more like you don't wanna hear the other half of the truth so who are you calling "sensitive" here and not to mention how you assume im referring to you. Basically making you triggered putting words on people's mouth. "Feminists saw how men were telling other men to 'Be a man' and to not cry and dumb shit like that." Yeah indeed you said "women" (im being sarcastic) Then yeah i'm not really ignoring your reply. You can say "other women are also tell men that dumb shit too" but you know what stands? You never said feminists see those too so there for I pointed it out. What's the problem?
Also, it doesn't really take a genius to read all of it. I guess it's too much for your small brain to process.
@Aiko_E_Lara No, those feminists wouldn't be real feminists because feminism advocates for men too. I'm not wasting my time on you. You're incapable of logic, clearly biased and just trying to make this an argument. Your responses are more rants than anything. Yeah and the earth IS round because science, that's just oversimplification but it's correct. Search men taking women's credit up, I dont know what to tell you.
@Aiko_E_Lara Gotta type it out in Zoomy script for them to understand what your saying. Just ad a frfr, No Cap, and a fuck load of emojis.
Then it would've been egalitarian or just simply equality. Really how many kinds of feminism are there? Lets see, we have those feminists who say it's for men too, feminists who say it's not for men, radical feminists, choice feminists and so on. With that being said, it seems like you all can't agree on what feminism should be but you just wanna defend the labels because you all have one thing in common. The notion you all have believing that we're living in a patriarchal world where women are oppressed. That act alone shows how much you care more on that label instead of demonstrating equality for both that's why feminism can't be accurately be described as a movement for equality. You don't have to "waste your time" here when you can "waste your time" doing something else no one cares about. And for that men taking credits for what women did, I can also tell you to research that it's a myth but of course there are always a FEW exceptions. That doesn't really make up for the average of men. You had time to start your argument so there literally is no excuse for you unless you're losing credibility.
@spuitkaas thanks.
It's idealogies tat harm people basically. Such as how men "can't get raped", how men "can't " be abused, and how men are not allowed to show emotions as that's the "women's " characteristic

How to fight ☣♂?
By rejecting such responses. By not listening to those, who are unhelpful about our issues.
My dad always says that masculinity isn’t about how much you can take from others, it’s about how you can give. Simple as that. Toxic masculinity is about taking and receiving. Getting ego boosts by bullying other guys and being disrespectful to women. A real man will find ways to give and serve those in his life
And women are just the receivers?
Yeah I dunno what toxic masculinity is suppose imply, if it's suppose to mean asshole wife beaters or abusive boyfriend, that's not called toxic masculinity.. there's another word for that. It's called being an asshole.. simply acting the way your gender is suppose to act can never be "toxic". That's nonsense
@Heartache0405 of course not. But woman aren’t the topic here
İt's when you punch someone super hard and laugh at him for expressing pain.
İt's making fun of someone's reaction to a dramatic moment.
İt's insulting someone in cold blooded fashion and making fun of them for taking it personally.
İt's just a general consensus that a man is supposed to have much thicker skin and colder reactions to anything in life just because "man up lol"
Feminists whining about masculinity and wanting men to be effeminate soy boys. Any "bad" behavior men may display can be seen doubly in women, who are more common to backstab and betray each other. Being an asshole isn't gendered and "toxic masculinity" isn't a real thing. It's a sh*tty term feminists invented to shame men; big surprise.
To be honest it's one of those terms that has different meanings in different groups - just like "feminist" doesn't mean the same thing across all groups.
Anything being called "toxic" you can always assume is subjective and seen only from a behavioural angle. In the case of "TM" it's male behaviours that are seen as overbearing or misogynist.
It's a nonsense word used for anything men do they don't feel like they should do at that moment. So anything can be toxic masculinity because there is always someone that can find an angle or context when the behavior is unwanted. It's basically toxic feminism favorite word to project their issues on to men rather than accept the consequences of their actions.
I consider it to be the concept, often passed down by men, that men (or people of any gender) shouldn't show their emotions (ideas like "men don't cry", "suck it up and be a man" or "take it like a man", "man up", etc). Hiding your feelings/emotions/preferences causes many problems, which makes it a toxic trait. Basically encouraging other men to not be human is what it means
Just some radical leftist SJW propaganda way to turn men into sissies.
It started as something to refer to a guy who abuses women or doesn't consider them equal which was fine.
But now any masculinity is toxic masculinity and it's nothing short of disgusting.
I'm not really for sure what it it consist of but I can tell you the other day I saw some lady running down the street naked with a strap-on on chasing her boyfriend screaming at him at the top of her lungs I wanted to stick around to see if she would catch up with him but her boobs were going up and down and her strap-on was going up and down she was hauling ass he misses you something awful bad oh my God LMAO
I personally try to avoid all these movements. I've been on feminism side, I've been on anti feminism side. Its exhausting and sometimes upsetting to see how toxic men and women can be. For me its only one mantra, treat on the basis of how they treat me and secondly merit. I dont care much about gender. Men can be goldiggers, women can be physically abusive. So, there's my two cents, forget gender, just observe how they treat you and secondly their merit.
The major issue I have with it, its very often used it shame men for liking traditionally masculine things. It's also used to shame men into being more like women.. Both are just incredibly stupid.
Additionally if toxic masculinity exists, so must toxic femininity..
Some made up, BS term feminists came up with to vilify being a man.
All rational people just ignore idiotic stuff like this and go on with their lives. l
100% feminist nonsense. It's not a thing other than a way for feminists to try to disarm men so they don't constantly see their own inferiority. It's this idea that all men really want to be an emotional mess, when actually we mostly don't have the need.
It basically the idea that men are supposed to be men. We aren’t supposed to cry, we aren’t supposed to show weakness, etc. A lot of men take it as insult to the male population. It’s actually designed to help men break free from the shackles of toxic gender roles.
Finally, a proper explanation! Thank you.
Its not a good way of showing that. If anything it's making society look down upon men simply for being masculine. Even if the implication is for a good cause it's having an obviously negative effect on how society treats and even views men now.
It’s basically * , an insult *. Damn I butchered that. Lol.
Examples
Men being looked down upon for crying or having feelings
Male virginity being frowned upon
Rape laws not including female perpetrators and only just including male victims
The overall belief that women can't rape men
84 men a week committing suicide
Memes like Forever Alone and Virgin vs Chad
The existence of Incels, Nice Guys, MGTOWs and NEETs
Men being called names like "simp" and "beta" for not being misogynistic dickheads
Extension
Male DV victims having almost no access to support of any kind and often facing ridicule
Fathers losing 90% of custody battles
Men almost automatically being distrusted around kids
The idea that men and women can't "just be friends"
It's this set of toxic expectations that men are held to in order for them to be considered "real men".
Concepts like, "men don't cry, men can't wear pink". Pretty much anytime a man is restricted from expressing themselves because "a real man doesn't do that" that's toxic masculinity.
There's toxic behavior, and there's masculine behavior. So-called toxic masculinity is an attempt to intertwine the two. Nothing about masculinity is toxic, and toxic behaviors are definitely not masculine, but you have to understand the two terms to know the difference.
🔝This is the best response here.
They want us to all be flamboyant girlie faggots, fuck your shit... You think I'm gonna act like a fairy boy girl jus cos you said ok toxicly masculine? you really think using this term will make men wanna be less masculine? Newsflash, men will still be masculine, you ain't gonna change nothing by calling masculinity toxic hahah, and I pity any man who acts more girly just because of this new term
Illuminati! And taking loving men power away. So the state can rollout material law. Aka C0ViD and no one wants I’ll push back. Of course you’re too stupid to learn from history.
As a feminist you should move to North Korea. Tons of work for you there.
It’s the traditional ideas of masculinity that cause more harm than good. Like keeping emotions buried to not seem like a “fag”. Men getting so angered when they lose their job as the main breadwinner they kill their whole families than live with the shame.
Shit like that.
Toxic masculinity is basically the idea that men cannot show emotions if we want to be "real men." We're not allowed to show any traits society considers feminine either. We're expected to "man up" and only exhibit masculine traits at all times.
It's a term that takes the misbehavior of some men and applies it to manhood and all men, there by widening the decide between the sexes. It allows some women to feel they are victims and makes many men feel that the idea of masculinity itself is being attacked. In some cases it is.
The word Toxic is used by weak pussies who hate on us for being masculine.
Society will try to shame you for being a man. I Embrace every part of My Masculinity. And enjoy everything that comes with it.
Exactly as it should be.
hell ya
I personally look at men who back these feminists as traitors to themselves and mankind. I know the cure too it’s just illegal.
@AncientWisdom You say "traitor" as if we owe you our loyalty
Yeah I was plain in what I said I do not suffer fools. Nor do I give a shit what they think address someone else you and I will not see eye to eye. I hate your kind you’re picking a fight you would lose badly I won’t bother to answer you again.
That all men need to be dominant. If not, they'd be doormats.
I don’t want to hear a fucking word about “toxic masculinity” until you admit that toxic FEMININITY is major problem too. Everything is so one way with you so called “equal rights” feminists.
Of course, what are you so upset about?
@rockytherock i agree with what the question asker wrote about. Regret to admit that I only read the headline earlier. But she hates that term too. Good
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Toxic masculinity is one of the many idiot feminist ideas.
I like you already
🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
@Desconhecida a smart lady here 😌👍🏻
It's not about who you support, men or women! It's about what's right and what's wrong cause men and women are created to love and take care of each other and not to fight and bash each other!
Because she has masculine men to teach her sh#t
It’s a feminist phrase used to shame men into being docile. While feminists usurp the role. Toxic masculinity is under 6ft tall with tits and a vagina.
The term was invented by men's rights organisations, referring to society's expectations of how men "should" behave. Fix it yourself, don't complain, don't ask for help when you're in trouble, that sort of thing.
Radfems tend to see all white male masculinity as toxic masculinity. :)
https://www.youtube.com/embed/j_e2QfiCb94When an ugly man compliments, or on top of a girl = toxic masculinity
when a girl takes off a very handsome man/chad = toxic masculinity
When a man rates a woman as unattractive = toxic masculinity
You don’t have a clue what toxic masculinity is do you?
@Subarugirl he doesn’t, he really doesn’t
it's another one of those terms made up by sjws and feminazis to deconsturuct masculinty and throw as much shit at men as possible for some fucking reason.
It's just another way to demonize and feminize men.
Toxic masculinity is FUCKING real, stop saying it isn't. All you people suck at making fun of weak individuals male or female just because all of you think you can gain something out of it! Your parents must be ashamed of you motherfuckers!
A made up term by feminists to attempt to shame men.
Weak insecure men that want to fight and beat women and children.
Feminists hate true masculinity. Men that protect, provide, kind, caring, loving,
It is used a lot by feminazis because the same reason why gag fags use the term feminazi just because women dont agree with them.
I personally believe in toxic femininity and masculinity. It has to do with biology and evolution. People who can't suppress their instincs tend to be toxic. Rape, violence or manipulation, ghosting etc are traits of toxic masculinity and toxic femininity
It's just another way to crap on men, they want to in control at the same time want men to take the lead. Crap on men and want men to ask them out.
its what feminist say when they feel insecure and frustrated. Honestly there is more toxic femininity then masculinity if either really exist in the first place.
Toxic masculinity is the normal masculinity seen by misandric lesbians. In another way, it is the projection of what they do not accept of themselves onto males.
Take a look at your modern feminist female, that's what Toxic Masculinity looks like.
Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Attila, Caligula, those kinds of guys
Urkel.
@Hellraiser1984 who's Urkel🤔
Look up Steve urkel.
@Hellraiser1984 Oh...
I don't know, all I know tho is that it's not my problem
Bullshit is what it is lol. Masculinity is not toxic.
It doesn't exist. It's called being a male. If you don't like me, stay away from me.
Toxic masculinity and femininity are real. It’s important to just stay genuine regardless of what society tells us.
its just a bigoted femnazi term for "immature". seriously there is no situation where you can use the term toxic masculinity where immature would not be less aggressive and bigoted
It's a term invented by toxic feminists to make themselves feel better for being toxic to begin with. It's easier to point the finger at the opposite sex
I don’t know but that’s gonna be the name of my rob zombie tribute band “TOXIC MASCULINITY”
Its for men who are controlling, violent and very abusive to the GFs, or wives.
Clearly some folks can't handle the awesome and have never seen a real man. This "Toxic Masculinity" is the Masculinity everybody secretly desires.
It's pretty boring tbh, I wouldn't want it
Ok nerdy mcskidmarks
Feminists themselves are the most prolific examples of the behaviors they refer to as toxic masculinity. What does that tell you about your question?
It's an attack on men, the eventual aim of feminists is to get into powerful positions so they can greenlight a genocide on all men
do you even know what toxic masculinity is?
It is exactly what I said it was wait until it happens, I personally believe separate walled-off continents for men and women would be better than genocide but the liberals desire something different so that is what will happen
Actually toxic masculinity is defined as a set of attitudes and ways of behaving stereotypically associated with or expected of men, regarded as having a negative impact on men and on society as a whole.
Hence an attack on men for being men and will eventually be acceptable for the genocide against them to be conducted unless they are happy to be castrated, lobotomized and used as slaves
I think you missed the part where it is literally define as "regarded as having a negative impact on men and on society as a whole."
How is taking steps against something that has a disproportionate negative affect on men specifically, an attack on men?
Men are 4 times more likely to commit suicide because they are less likely to seek medical treatment because of the untrue toxic mentality and stigma that seeking treatment or asking for help is imasculixing and a sign of weakness.
No one cares about men they just want their labour and the money earned from it
Once AI has replaced the labour and the liberals make money and all other forms of wealth that aren't just social credits illegal, then we will just be flesh husks fit for a mass grave, an incinerator or maybe an abattoir to be useful one last time
If no one cared, then why are so many people people and programs dedicated to addressing these issues
Because they designed to keep the men in line so they don't revolt against the liberal system
@Subarugirl those set of attitudes hunted animals and won wars
I hunt animals and have no emotions
Unless you are a sociopath... everyone has emotions
Exactly a Machiavellian sociopath no less
Is that self diagnosed, or... ?
Psychologist approved along with my autism diagnosis
Approved or diagnosed?
Diagnosed, didn't want to use it twice
@Subarugirl i assume you hunt with a ranged weapon. Get back to me when you do it with a pointed stick.
Being emotionally repressed isn't the same as being in control of your emotions
@Subarugirl ok. That i can respect
It is an attack on men. Every guy is unique and should not he tarred with a label.
Yeah but it hurts men, if you read the sign its not masculinity thats the issue, its the toxic aspect.
