+1 yYes, and she clearly never took a History lesson in High School. The Nazis explicitly viewed Jewish people as an inferior "race". They believed that only blue eyed and blonde haired German people were of value. Everyone else, they wanted killed (meaning anyone who had Jewish ancestry/"blood", gay people, gypsies, etc)
25 Reply- +1 y
Not trying to dis you but if that were true Hitler would have been the first one in the gas chamber.
- +1 y
Kind of a nitpick, but the Nazis didn't view Jews are *inferior*. They viewed Jews as subversive, unscrupulous purveyors of communism and immorality that would hijack nations like a cancer and bleed them dry--but inferior? Eh, not really, unless you mean morally inferior.
- +1 y
You people are illiterate lol. The Nazis saw Jewish people as rats.
- +1 y
@Amy10223 please stop denying Jews as a race. I know you're not intentionally being racist, but some might assume so due to the ignorance on the matter by over generalizing Jews as a whole.. Please educate yourself.. Ethnic Jews are a race. Judaism is also a religion. Two things can be true at once. Its not as simple as you try to make it out to be. Not all Jews are ethnic Jews, and not all ethnic Jews practice Judaism. Whoopi has no idea what she's talking about. Read a book please, quit taking info from know-nothing celebrities who view the world as only black & white - the world is very gray.

21 Reply- +1 y
Most blacks do think that! Sadly, others such as Native Americans were treated far worse for a much longer time and in my opinion are still treated poorly!
+1 yMaybe, but not because of this. The Holocaust wasn't a slaughter of Jews, but of Undesirables: you can see being crippled (if not autistic), you can see the guy putting up dissident propaganda, you can see the guy who keeps going to the gay bar. You can't see Armenian or Communist or Catholic.

+1 yI watched the clip after it happened. Seemed to me she was trying to make a point but everyone over-reacted so harshly over her mis-wording what she was trying to say that they lost sight of any point she was going to make.
I believe the point she was trying to make was that Hitler/Nazi's in general were about power and dominance, and race was just a vehicle to get there. How do you play on people's fears if you don't give them an "other"?
Do you think Trump based his 4 years in office on hating South Americans? No, but if you look at only the context of things he said about / did to people at the border, you would think he was going the way of Hitler, right?
This is just woke bullshit from the fearmongers. We should be blaming those who project fear and outrage at everything people say. I want to hear a point of view, not start screaming at someone as soon as they mis-speak and then refuse to let them correct themselves.
Perhaps the real truth here is that people have become intolerant and intolerable assholes.10 Reply - 2.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yAs usual, the Demunist Commiecrats can't admit the truth. But I have to speak in defense of Whoopi because she only reflects the truth of their Leftist "Critical Race Theory", which they pretend is not happening. One group of White people killed another group of White people, so that doesn't serve their Cultural Marxist agenda. "Whiteness is inherently evil," the Cultural Communists claim. Whoopi is just driving that point home:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/0HOZYaM9dvU10 Reply 4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course she's not racist. But angry neo-lefties love to play the game of "I'm more virtuous than you" by scoring points attacking celebrities. And the right-wing tends to hate Whoopi because she is a non-racist classical left-wing type. The sort who says "Women you can't hit a man and expect him not to hit you back, those days are long gone, and you have no business hitting anyone in the first place."
Whoopi is not a racist. The very idea is laughable. But this is where we are now, the neo-left is setting about devouring itself by going after any imperfections, all the time forgetting that no one is perfect, especially themselves.00 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course, but she has said other anti White things in the past, way before this incident. She also supported the BLM violence against White people too, riots, and the violence against police. Like when two innocent cops were sitting in their patrol car doing nothing and got shot in the head just for being cops.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yEh, maybe what she said wasn't the brightest, but she did apologize and there is a lot worse said on those sort of shows that never get that level of attention. If anything, it's not like Whoopi likes Hitler. Most wouldn't as long as educated because the majority of people aren't German. Trust me, there's nothing like chatting with a guy online who claims to look up to Hitler, just to find out he's autistic and not German. Pretty speechless when I pointed that out. Proof that there is such a thing as loving people who hate you/would hate you/don't care about you if alive without realizing that's the reality. WAY more common then it should be.

+1 yShe thinks she’s beyond reproach just because she’s a black woman. She’s not.
If a white male said something like this they would be instantly fired, be caught up in a media fire frenzy and likely be ostracized for work for at least 10 years if not a lifetime.
When it comes down to cancel culture either let anybody say whatever they want OR apply equal punishment. But depending where you stand in the intersectional pyramid you get more leeway. This bullshit has to end.10 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes Goldberg is 'racist', it shows how she regards white people shows, in Goldberg’s mind ONLY BLACK People can be subject to racism, this shows how closed minded she is.
I've travelled the world and seen racism across societies and it is not limited to black/white.11 Reply- 2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yI'm not sure if she's racist, but she's definitely an enormously foolish blithering idiot, and has been for decades. With that stated, I'm glad she was suspended (there needs to be accountability), but I'm also glad she wasn't fired. Cancel culture needs to stop. It's not illegal to be grotesquely stupid.

+1 yI understand what she’s saying, in the sense that we’re taught to view race as skin color nowadays.
However back during the Holocaust era, things were different. People didn’t see race as just being a skin phenotype but also as an ethnicity (Aryans, Slavs, etc)01 Reply- +1 y
So at the time it was about race because they had a different definition of race.
But in modern times we would refer to the Holocaust as a form of “ethnic cleansing” if you will.

10 Reply662 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I don't think she is racist. She is correct when she says the Holacaust was not about race--but about religion. But in all fairness--Hitler knows more than anyone why he wanted everyone to be blond and blueeyed.
18 Reply- +1 y
You clearly don't know anything about history either. Hitle DID state why he wanted Jews killed. He explicitly said "Jews are an inferior race". End of story. Whoopie is thinking with the American's view of "race". In other parts of the world race is thought of differently, not just based on skin color.
- +1 y
@HIlary48tgkgkgg I know Hitler thought Jews to be an inferior race; that's already known. The reason I agree with Whoopie Goldberg is because you clearly could not see who was Jewish and who was not--Jewish is a religion, not a race. There are 3 races: White, Negroid, and Mongoloid. Those were the main categories of the past--and nowadays there is another races added to include the Austrailoid race from Australia. You cannot speak for Hitler and decide what was in his evil, insane mind. So please sdon't assume I don't kn ow my history--I know it quite well, and know at least 4 people whose parents and grandparents suffered and survived the Holocaust.
- +1 y
Honey bunches; I AM German Jewish and my family WAS in the Holocaust. NO. That is the way AMERICANS view race. Based on skin color; regions across the world historically did not view race and define it the way Americans do. What do you mean you don't know what was in Hitler's mind? He EXPLICITLY said "Jews are an inferior race". He gave thousands of speeches, taught it in schools, and wrote it in papers. It was the entire premise of the Holocaust. The Nazis created drawings with Jewish people with large noses and other specific facial features. The Holocaust had EVERTHING to do with race. Somehow; liberals want to pretend like minorities in America are the only oppressed group/racially throughout history and thats a lie and its anti-semetic to say or think that.
- +1 y
@HIlary48tgkgkgg Its true. And people in the past in the America viewed race the same way people did in Europe as well.
Hence why my Irish and Italian ancestors faced discrimination. - +1 y
@HIlary48tgkgkgg NO, that is NOT the way Americans view race. That is what National Geographic has deemed what the races are. I know that Hitler said the Jews were inferior and he wanted them annihilated--we all know that. But the question was --Is Whoopie Goldberg racist? And I stand by my answer. NO she is NOT. If she were--she wouldn't have been involved romantically with Ted Dansen--a White man. I have not seen that segment from The View--so I cannot argue here about something I didn't see--I can only go by the words in large print. However--do not talk down to people you do not know---as that will not get you anywhere in life. Furthermore--when you talk down to people like you are trying to do here with me--that is a sign of WEAKNESS and INSECURITY.
- +1 y
And again--Jews are NOT a RACE, but a group of people.
Jews or Jewish people are an ethnoreligious group and nation originating from the Israelites and Hebrews of historical Israel and Judah. Jewish ethnicity, nationhood, and religion are strongly interrelated, as Judaism is the ethnic religion of the Jewish people, although its observance varies from strict to none. - +1 y
Can black people be racist? Yes. And a majority of minorities are racist. But black people get a pass for being racist. Happy black history month.

That is THE American definition of racist. Other parts of the world don't just define race by skin color. Hitler and the Nazis explicitly stated Jews are an inferior race.

- +1 y
When? How many generations ago?
- +1 y
@NYCQuestions1976 Researcher Henry Louis Gates Jr. found that all of Goldberg's traceable ancestors were African Americans, that she had no known German or Jewish ancestry, and that none of her ancestors were named Goldberg. Results of a DNA test, revealed in the 2006 PBS documentary African American Lives, traced part of her ancestry to the Papel and Bayote people of modern-day Guinea-Bissau. Her admixture test indicates that she is of 92 percent sub-Saharan African origin and of 8 percent European origin.
