What’s your favorite aspect/trait about your race?

I’m black and mine is, we physically don’t age as fast as other races of people, meaning we look youthful for longer! Scientifically this has been proven due to the melanin in our skin. I know many people dread getting older but I’m not nervous at all. My mom is literally 41 and everyone thinks she’s my sister, and my dad looks late 20s at 44. Definitely a pro >

I'm biracial/mixed with an odd blend of features so that used to bother me a lot since I couldn't help but stand out from homogeneous crowds when all I wanted to do was blend in. On top of that, I moved all over the world growing up which exacerbated this feeling that I have no real group/team (not a race, not an ethnicity, or even a most familiar culture) to call my own.

I even struggled a lot when people asked me questions like "where are you from?" which I got constantly from people with my mixed looks. I could tell people where I was born but I didn't spend much time there. If they started asking me about the country, I couldn't tell them so much since I only spent my earliest childhood there, and I was considered somewhat of a foreigner/outsider there.

On the plus side though, I've learned to get along with a wide range of people from a diverse range of cultures and I've learned to navigate my share of cultures throughout the world.

Cheers! I've kind of learned to turn that way of sticking out in crowds into something arguably positive. I used to hate it with all the attention I was receiving when I was reserved and even a bit shy. And once I started learning how to utilize it to my advantage, I found all the people constantly approaching me and asking me where I'm from doesn't have to be something that makes me all uncomfortable but a nice starting point for a potential friendship and it even helped me to get dates when I was single. :-D

I'm part Samoan and any time one of us meet each other we instantly got each other's backs.

i’m from california so we have a decent sized samoan and tongan population here. i’ve learned a lot of things about your culture through my classmates and it always fascinated me.
