Is this bad service?

So i am working with a solicitor to get my husbands visa and i gave her our marriage cert but a shorter version. A few months later she then asked for the marriage cert again. I sent her emails to try and see exactly which marriage cert she wanted as there was also the marriage deeds. I sent photos of each marriage document we had as per my translators instructions and she just responded with the marriage cert. When i gave her the marriage cert we had she then said it was the wrong one and emailed me a month later and said she needed the civil marriage cert. Even though i emailed her many times asking which one she needed. Two months past by and she never gave us any update on our application and I got no word from her. She said in December that she would call me early jan and she never called me. She scheduled a call this week but then cancelled and said she could talk 30 mins later but never called and emailed instead and She asked me if i could talk the next day which was today and i complained to her about cancelling but i texted last night saying that I could talk the next day which was today. When this morning came around she said that appointment was gone but said that she would call me tomorrow and I asked what time and she said when she was finished the call she has at 12. Do you think this is poor service on her part?

Poor service? Yes! I know govt services tend to take FAR longer than they should, but if she's truly trying to help, she should be more clear about what she needs/wants from you. Also, be FAR more realistic about when she can get with you to get your situation settled. The constant "I'll call you in half an hour... tomorrow... or whenever," doesn't help you or work toward resolution of your circumstances.

Just because she works for the Gov't doesn't mean she shouldn't be more responsible toward the people she's been hired to help.

What? Very bad. That ain’t the way to treat a client. You should be awarded a patience medal. Are there no other solicitors available? Don’t know about your country but most individual entities in most countries either process their VISAS by themselves, personally filling applications, booking appointments and following up with the embassies or using travel, passport & VISA agents that specifically deal / do that for a living not some lawyer who’s busy doing other “more profitable” stuff.
