I mean democrats are pretty run-of-the-mill politicians with ulterior motives. If there's any fault on the left, it is the people saying air conditioning is sexist and the Washington monument is a penis.
On the right, Fox News alone is probably responsible for most of the modern damage. Their "enrage everyone" model ended up being so popular the rest of the news media had to follow suit to survive.
In actual politics, Mitch McConnell has been one of the most destructive forces. Essentially dismantle any reasonable political discourse, ethics, and procedures for the sake of making the others lose. That's part of how he's been in politics so long. People aren't willing to stop to his level, and you can only beat him by going lower.
But the Republican party post-obama has become the "Ignore what you see. The only truth is what the party tells you", to a very disturbing level.
One of the ways you can tell who is moving more is if you look at climate change politics. The Republican stance back in the day was that climate change is real and caused by humans. They proposed more free-market methods for regulating emissions with things like cap and trade vs the more rigid proposals Democrats proposed. Now the stance of the Republican party is that climate change is a hoax, and cap and trade is now the Democrat position.
Similar with healthcare. The Obamacare they like to criticize so much was originally called "Romneycare" as much of it was proposed by Mitt Romney. They call it radical socialism now.
They'll harp about how "islamist immigrants are going to enforce Sharia law", while putting literal bounties in women who visit Planned Parenthood.
If you look at things common with the fall of major civilizations, it isn't about left-wing or right-wing politics. It is about political regimes losing accountability and representing each other and powerful industries over the people. I'm sure those on the right can relate to that with how Democrats tend to run things. But they aren't free and clear, as they have run without popular mandate for decades. An incoming Republican president hasn't won the popular vote since Bush Sr. Gerrymandering is practiced by both sides, but it isn't purple. It is red with a barely visible blue tint.
They key method for not representing the public and starting the fall of a civilization is when people aren't gaining power through enthusiastic support, but through a series of ever-thickening technicalities.
Obama
Because having the options dominated by only two parties, what do you expect? Forcing the poorest to finance government is also not a recipe for harmonious political discourse. Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos get to choose which and what and if ever taxes they'll pay, while the hard core of tax income for the government never gets to choose anything but giving up very hard-earned money. It's not about left or right--it's about up or down. It's about fairness and respect. That's what's missing.
I phucking feel you on how the rich get to choose which and what taxes will be done. ... and the up or down Libertarian vs. Authoritarian. The main problem with the left, right now is they tried to go full authoritarian, well actually still trying. If they'd just stop mandatory this or mandatory that and quit shutting down our own energy supplies... they'd be a beloved party by the majority and not just because the other guy is Trump.
I just don't get it... Trump is out and the fixes are simple, even so much so that Trump was working it out. Why don't they just build a wall, open up our fuel lines and stop buying from the Middle East again, and put China back in its place? they'd win over everybody at that point. The far left seems to have a grip on liberals' necks. Pro Tranny, Race, Sex, Islamist, planet & vegan stuff just phucking them up bad. Needs more parties for real.
Because Dems have tried to take away freedom and force their ideology down our throats. The Summer of Love was the last straw. At some point half of America needs to push back on this utter non-sense. I hope Republicans destroy Biden and the Democrats come November in the Midterms.
All I can say is this I am definitely a conservative I did not believe in all the political crap before that pandemic came out and as soon as it did I immediately understood what a conservative was and what a Democrat far left is and I have no respect no love for Democrats they are absolute trash. I'm sorry if I hurt someone's feelings but this is my absolute own opinion. And I absolutely loved the job that President Trump did in my opinion he was one of the best because he spoke his mind he did what was right and the people that can't stand him or the people that know he was doing a damn good job. Now you guys voted for Biden and his fake administration and all that's happening is our world is getting taken away from us with high gas prices everything on the shelves are expensive to buy for food the ideology and everything else that comes from all this crap that the Democrats are trying to push down our throats as well as all of the mandates that they swore from day one would never happen. So for the whole it Biden administration and for Dr fauci who is a piece of crap in my book they can all burn in hell and I can't wait for the Republicans to take over this coming November

It is bed by both the far left and MSM.
It is bred by both the far left and MSM.
It is Lee Atwater's fault. He was the campaign manager for the 1988 Presidential campaign of George Herbert Walker Bush's (aka Bush 41). Bush 41 was a one-term president. He was a decent man, but Atwater was not. Absolute scum of the Earth and a man whose deeds were so vile that God promptly gave him brain cancer. He began suffering only 14 months into Bush 41's administration and was dead a year later having just turned 40.
He is now in the 11th Circle of Hell. That's the new deepest level that God had Satan dig.
Fortunately for Lee, he's a tad less lonely because Rush Limbaugh III joined him last year.
Lee Atwater is the embodiment of what Marc Antony wrote in William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar":

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones;

Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story
From Roger Ebert's 2008 review of that movie.
www.rogerebert.com/.../boogie-man-the-lee-atwater-story-2008
= = =
When Lee Atwater was a boy, a fryer full of hot grease fell on his little brother Joe, killing him. "He said he heard those screams every single day for the rest of his life," a friend remembers. "He grew up in a world without mercy."
A plausible case can be made that Lee Atwater was the greatest single influence on American politics in the last 40 years. He was instrumental in the elections of Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. Karl Rove and Bush 43 were his proteges. It is universally acknowledged that Atwater wrote the modern Republican playbook.
= = =
So, make no mistake about it: Lee Atwater is the reason you are asking this question.
I am serious about Lee Atwater.
Most of the other people here are drooling idiots because they only know what they witnessed which is the aftereffects of Lee Atwater.
The US political parties and the American people may have been grumpy at times such as the Civil War, Vietnam War, and the civil rights movements of the 1950s-1970s, but the level of dysfunction and hostility now is much worse now.
Why?
1. Primarily Lee Atwater in 1988. The way he ran the Bush 41 campaign was genuinely evil. It took politics straight to the gutter. Pure Machiavellianism. Before that, politicians may disagree or even run negative campaigns, but they were still collegial and civil to one another. Atwater began destroying that because the Bush campaign's commercials were anything but collegial. Filled with lies or race-baiting and hate-mongering, this was the exact disunifying influence needed to start killing that collegial spirit. Even the fellow GOPers didn't like him or trust him, but they were happy to use him as a tool to do their dirty work.
Karl Rove, the campaign manager for Bush 43 and not-quite-as-vile as Atwater, learned from him. What happened in 2004 to John Kerry is just like what happened to Michael Dukakis in 1988 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Look, how many documentaries do you know of about a political campaign manager? None - other than Lee Atwater's. That ought to tell you something.
There are two more important events though.
2. Robert Bork's failed nomination to the US Supreme Court in 1987. Usually, US Supreme Court picks had been more-or-less rubber-stamped. The Senate rarely balked at who the President appointed to the court and, often, the nominee might be unanimously approved. The choice of Bork by GOP President Reagan was not - and rightfully so. Bork was a divisive figure and DEM Senator Ted Kennedy was vehemently against him. Bork ultimately lost support, but the point is that this was the first time in a long time that there was an issue over a nominee.
3. After Atwater died, later in 1991, Clarence Thomas was nominated by Bush 41 to the US Supreme Court. Thomas wasn't a well-known judge and not a stellar candidate, but he had several things against him that made his choice problematic. First, he was Black and that was good because he was replacing the only Black justice ever, Thurgood Marshall who was historically important - he argued Brown v. Board of Education that ended segregation. Thomas was highly conservative though, so this would significantly ideologically shift of the court. However, Thomas, also, was accused of sexual harassment. His confirmation process made big headlines and was on TV. Eventually, he was confirmed with two spare votes, 52-48. But, also, not only did he ideologically shift the court, he was YOUNG. Only 43. Most nominees were considerably older, but a nominee this young with a lifetime appointment could be on the court for 40 or 50 years. And Thomas is the longest-serving active SCOTUS judge being on the court for almost 31 years now.
Personally, I don't know about Thomas's alleged sexual harassment so I won't comment. I haven't cared much for him as a SCOTUS judge, but I have no major problem with him as a SCOTUS judge. But, his nomination and the circus that followed, was another reason why there is such dysfunction. That nomination was a significant reason why Bill Clinton was able to defeat Bush 41 in 1992. Clarence Thomas being accused by Anita Hill during the 1991 confirmations was the #MeToo Before #MeToo moment that women saw clearly on TV and is one reason why now they mostly favor the Democrats over Republicans. In the intervening 31 years, the GOP has done little to help women. For example, Google "Family Leave Act" - something else Bush 41 did not support that Clinton did. Bush 41's lack of support for the Family Leave Act was the "last straw" that made me vote for Clinton when, in spring 1991, I would have been fine with voting to re-elect Bush 41.
Because Bush 41 lost to Bill Clinton (one reason being not having Atwater alive to do their dirty work), Clinton, a Southern moderate who was not born rich like Bush, won but he was "Slick Willie" and the GOP couldn't stand having their favorite Establishment son, Bush 41, lose to a country bumpkin with an outspoken wife. Thus begat Newt Gingrich and the "Contract With America" in 1994... sometimes called "The Contract On America".
From Family and Medical Leave Act from Wikipedia:
en.wikipedia.org/.../Family_and_Medical_Leave_Act_of_1993
"Background
Prior to the 1992 presidential election, a family medical leave act had been vetoed twice by President George H. W. Bush.[2] After Bill Clinton won the 1992 election, a law protecting family medical leave became one of his major first-term domestic priorities. Rapid growth in the workforce, including a large number of women joining, suggested a necessary federal regulation that would support the working class who desired to raise a family and/or required time off for illness related situations.[3] President Clinton signed the bill into law on February 5, 1993 (Pub. L. 103–3; 29 U. S. C. sec. 2601; 29 CFR 825) to take effect on August 5, 1993.
The United States Congress passed the Act with the understanding that “it is important for the development of children and the family unit that fathers and mothers be able to participate in early childrearing … [and] the lack of employment policies to accommodate working parents can force individuals to choose between job security and parenting”.[4] It also stressed the Act was intended to provide leave protection for individuals “in a manner that accommodates the legitimate interests of employers”.[5]"
As with most real-world things, the truth is complex and nuanced. It's the fault of politicians, who propagated the idea that those who disagree with you are your enemies. It's the fault of talking-head "experts" who hyped up their pet causes with histrionics and clung to them long after they'd been falsified (quick, give me a guess: what percentage of Miami is underwater right now, given that we're WAY past 2005, and haven't abandoned fossil fuels?), while simultaneously leaping on the slightest errors of their opponents (predictive models from the 70's based on inaccurate data turned out inaccurate, so clearly all of anthropogenic climate change is totally impossible, right?), all in the name of getting their own pet theories more attention.
It's also the fault of social media, pushing a constant climate of political ideals while isolating individuals from those who believe differently than they do, encouraging them to see only one "correct" path, and all deviations from it as corruptions or insanities. It's the fault of search engine bubblings, ensuring that you only see more of what you click on most, pushing the "one right view" attitude even more. It's the fault of activists, mandating constant signalling of one's virtuous loyalty to the cause they represent. It's the fault of the Soviet Union, collapsing and leaving just one remaining superpower, so political figures seeking high office here are playing for ALL the marbles, all over the world; every election affects everyone, making the stakes too high to back down. It's the fault of natural selection, producing a species so vulnerable to the mental pressures of adopting tribalism; willing to do ugly, unpleasant things to survive, but not drudgerous ones like hashing our differences out.
Ultimately, it's the fault of everyone involved- because we accept all of the above. We see ourselves as powerless to change things, and while we probably can't, we bear some of the blame for accepting that, too.
People think their political allegiances constitute a “personality” now. They tie their entire existence into it, and broadcast it on social media, etc, and it devolves into the same bullshit that gets people stomped into a coma because of what football team they were rooting for at a game, just blind, hardcore allegiance. But this has the added appeal of getting to blame all of your life’s problems on someone else. And whether someone is right, wrong, or somewhere in between in their validity of doing so, that feels soothing to an individual’s psyche, so it’s not questioned. And the politicians aren’t stupid. They love to deal in “grievance politics.” So the politicians back up these ideas, then each political party has their sworn-ally news channels that carry their water, they tell their audiences the “news” based not upon neutrality and simple statement of known facts and circumstances, but with pre-tailored spins for the audience they already know has tuned in BECAUSE of the channel’s leanings. So two distinctly different overall narratives get played to two different audiences, two totally different pictures of the same event get painted, with naked bias, but they get the audience so whipped up into their respective froths that they don’t notice or don’t care, and suddenly all this chaos is just “the world we live in.”
I have my elderly father with me, he watches FoxNews, I see all the Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity evening stuff. I don’t say this to single out one side, just to say this is the side I see most. I catch a little CNN or MSNBC in passing, but I’m not a huge news guy to start with, I try to divorce myself from getting caught up in and just live my life and do me. I mean, those channels were certainly left-leaning and didn’t hide it. FoxNews honestly blows me away though, lmfao. Like I’m always hearing it and thinking “this doesn’t at all match up with the reality I witness being an alive person every day.” They way they talk, no wonder people are upset. I don’t think it’s anywhere near what it’s made out to be, but all most people usually hear is “what it’s made out to be”, so what do you expect when the news is so irresponsible and just worried about 1) putting asses in the seats for ratings/ad revenue; and 2) making sure their political “team” looks good and the other side looks bad for governmental control and to inspire campaign donation. We already saw exposed texts from Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham on January 6th, 2020 basically being like “Trump, wtf, man? Call off the dogs at the capitol, this is out of hand and makes Republicans look bad!”, but the same night they went on air and sang a completely different song for their viewers, downplayed it or called it a “false flag” operation, and those viewers then go on to be the people comprising and influencing “public opinion.” And it’s not like these people go and check out another angle, it’s a closed-loop communication system. FoxNews spends half their airtime taking about CNN and MSNBC, and how they’re liars, yadda yadda, and I’ve heard FoxNews on CNN’s lips too. So the news basically says “he’s OUR version of the news, that we think you’ll like best and fits in with your preconceived notions and biases, and if anyone else tries to tell you different, fuck them, because they’re fucking liars.” Like the worst thing that came out of Trump was “fake news.” Don’t get me wrong, I URGE everyone to critically think about information the see or hear, to think of who the source is, if they’re reliable, what they stand to gain or lose by giving you this info and you believing it or not, that’s all part of being an intelligent person. But don’t abuse it and just dismiss anything you don’t like hearing or paints your side in a negative light as “fake news”, that’s a cop-out, and it’s lazy thought.
Probably out of writing space here, but basically, with all this going on, how could it NOT be toxic?🤦♂️
Because America makes decisions based on their feelings, not logic. Politicians know this, so they constantly appeal to the public's emotions. The most intimidating emotion is outrage. So they stoke those flames with the full intention of having it blow up. They use the public as a willing weapon to advance their agenda. Both sides are guilty of this, though we've recently been seeing it taken to an extreme. It's become dangerous and if we're being honest, quite silly.
And while both parties certainly have changes they are trying to push, at the end of the day, both parties serve the same masters who are benefitting regardless of who sits in the white house or the senate. Because while people argue and fight and kill each other over this petty shit, they are being distracted from the real issues. Blind to wealthy CEOs and corrupt official stuffing their bank accounts with the money wrung from the people's suffering. Even the concept of left and right are designed to divide us into tribes or teams. America loves a good team rivalry. A side to fight for and root for. Doesn't matter what the cause is, really.
So whose fault is it? Ours. We allowed this to happen. We continue to allow it. We refuse to educate ourselves. Refuse to cooperate or compromise. Refuse to evolve or improve. In pining for the past, we've forsaken our future. Played for fools and filled the role with great enthusiasm.
That is why American politics are toxic. Because the American people would rather feed their base impulses and seek immediate gratification than even entertain the notion of using their brain.
Part of the problem is we only have two parties, so you either align with a party 100% or your attacked for being a Nazi/communist. Another part of the problem is the wealthy elite like to keep us divided, population is easier to control than a united population. Could you imagine if the left and right put our differences aside for once and actually pushed for change on things we agree on, like stopping the military industrial complex from bombing brown people in the middle east. Part another part of the problem with toxicity, is MSM, you have MSM on on the right brainwashing viewers to hate and attack people on the left while you have MSM on the left brainwashing viewers to hate and attack people on the right, and on top of this, they cherry pick extreme views from the other side to make their case why the other side is bad. Guess we'll never get back to where we can respectfully disagree with someone else's views without all the vicious attacks and name calling. Maybe things in government would get done if politicians would set aside what the disagree on and focused the things they agree on, with the things they agree on they'd be able to put more time and effort into the things they disagree on.
The side that wants to take your gun rights, censor your speech, censor the information you get so they can control you better, and resorts to a -ism's or -ist's as their only arguments. Yeah, that side is the one making everything toxic... and the buying power of a dollar hit the floor for its citizens as they make themselves richer. I forgot they want to force you to get your shots, wear a mask, and not go outside or assemble in public places, while they still do. Not sure if I remember which side that is...🤔
All I would like to add... If you hate this 7.5% inflation, the price of everything going up, and empty shelves that's going to get worse and you didn't vote Trump. You should have no reason to complain. You voted for that, and you got your way. Everyone else now has to suck it up with you all because you didn't like mean tweets. Don't complain... this is what you wanted.
Low information voters... mail-in votes made it easy. ... and the results are... TA DA!!! What you see right now. Great job! Pat yourselves on the back.
Usually what makes politics ugly is when you no longer argue politics. You just argue to divide people and I honestly see that coming from one side. I don't care if my neighbor has three million in the bank while I struggle to make a mortgage payment. I don't care if my neighbor doesn't wear a mask when he goes to the store. I don't care if my neighbor isn't vaccinated. I don't care if my neighbor doesn't drive a Prius. I don't care if my neighbor is black, brown or donated to the NAACP. I don't care if they donated to the RNC, DNC or FUCKING AT&T! There is only one side that cares about that nonsense. Which side is it? By the way, I am a registered democrat. I'm following in the foot steps of Bill Maher and Alan Dershowitz, among many other democrats. Even in the senate.
Its become toxic since neither side wants to fallow the constitution. The powers that be want us divided instead of united against those who profit off of slavery. The left plays race against each other and only cares about the rich now. The right only cares about the rich and cutting benefits. All of us in the middle who are not rich get screwed. Free trade has killed the working class in this country and every one of these paid off hypocrites do everything they can to extract as much money as they can. End importation of slave labor made products, and conditions in this country would start to improve. by the way there are more slaves in the world right now then there was in all of us history. China has forced labor, India has the Untouchable caste system of slavery, there are open slave markets in many countries in Africa still. However no one says anything since they want cheap cell phones and Nike shoes...
Firstly it’s the politics itself. One side is more wrong than the other and won’t let up. Naturally the other side has to fight it.
The media and social media inflame things. The way information is distributed now allows for the media to propagandize like crazy, but it also lets us see it happening, thus polarizing people. In the past they didn’t need to propagandize so hard, you just watch your 3 tv channels and read your handful of newspapers and they can lie to you and fewer people see it happening. The lack of truth makes it more peaceful.
The culture that emerges from technology and geography and politics further exacerbated everything. You used to have to be convince to run away and live with a cult on a compound so they can continuously control you and keep you in the fold. Now you have people living in your house while they communicate directly with cultists and the culture they project through tiny screens kept on our person at all times.
It's comical to me. It's a result of when you get people so entrenched with their tribes that It's party over country, party over what is decent. Because the mob they feel legitimizes it. When this happens you end up with liberal snowflakes blocking off highways and endangering lives after a Hillary Clinton loss, or you end up with fringe Trumpers storming the capitol and people end up getting hurt and killed. Which of course is not funny. And it shows it has went to far. But these people believe they are patriots. Because they feel they're not acting alone. They feel the mob legitimizes their twisted logic. And since the goal will always be to get elected the blood is on the hands of our politicians as they don't denounce these acts, not if they feel it can be useful to their campaigns. Both parties have lost their souls.
It’s the news media. Decades ago, the news media had at least some curtesy, a sense of fairness, and at least tried to be accurate. Now, the media actually TRIES to stir up hatred, because it boosts their ratings. The politicians also get their queue from the media, and refer to other politicians of a different political stripe as disgusting animals who not only need to be defeated in elections, but must be crushed and humiliated without mercy.
I think this sense of “courtesy” and fairness comes from them not having to try too hard to get away with a lie. The difference now is that we can see them being full of it because they don’t control everything we see. So thus they have to try harder and rage harder against it in order to maintain control and influence. Their toxicity is their death throes.
To me it's a back and forth. Trying to figure out what side started it is pretty much impossible at this point. Because it's like two teams of people throwing crap at each other. No matter who started it, everyone gets covered in crap. Best thing people can do is simply go home and shower. At least when you do that, you are no longer covered in crap. Also it allows you some time to honestly think if you want to go back out there and get covered in crap again.
because you don't see other countries politics. we are fairly open... although you'd see a lot more filth if you were inside the beast.
in general, we lack training in respect, humility, good manners. We're a bunch of rebels that threw out the natives.
Because we were build to have our politics be more local then federal unfortunately the federal government has grown to the point we’re if 1 party has the majority they can cram down there own political agenda on the states which is bad for a country built on individual freedom and localism
money, power, it becomes a peeing contest instead of doing what is best for the citizens.
1 party could come up with a simp way to end world hunger and cancer, and the other party would be against it.
They win, we lose, and we put them in office knowing full well what will happen while hoping it will change.
The left needs to do a better job educating themselves.
If they were smart, they would realize that Liberal Politics
Is a corporation, just like McDonald's. They would see it's creating a product
Known as "McVictims" so that it can stay in business.
@DJaQueef
The stakes are bigger than ever. A Senator or Congressman can make millions while in office. Nancy Pelosi is worth over 200 Million dollars, most of it was made using insider information only somebody in her position was privy to. No wonder she is running for re-election at age 80. Politicians will do anything to stay in office.
I don't know but I was watching the Olympics and had to turn it off as I am trying to relax and watch some talent compete they MUST bring in politics topics into this and trying to feed the information they want viewers to believe as soon as they trash talked about Putin saying he is the worst while placing the camera on him I just turned it off. sickening.
The sad thing is I know that these athletes train so hard for 4 years but I honestly wish that they had not gone that were from the US because it's kind of a slap in our face not them because I know they work so hard so I don't blame them but the fact that they're going over there and then the complete witch Nancy pelosi is getting on the news saying the people that are over there shouldn't talk bad about the Chinese it's because they own her they own the whole Biden administration that's why she doesn't want us to talk bad about them. There's no way I'm going to watch that stuff
I blame democrats and republicans tbh. The two part systems trash
I hate to say it but the only blame is the Democrats there are some Democrats that actually are decent on both sides but Republicans want to live free in this world we want what America stands for and the Democrats want to communist state and they want to raise the gas prices and raise the food and forced it down our throats as well as all this ideology and all this men trans women stuff going on in sports which is complete bull crap.
You seriously think rich ass Republican politicians care about you? It’s a scam, they make millions and I guarantee they’d rather keep their rich buddies in power than help the average American.
I also guarantee none of those democrats are communist. The capitalist system is what allows them to uphold their corruption in the first place.
Yep ^ we can stay fighting amongst each other about democrats vs republicans so they can stop us from fighting the rich and powerfuls corruption 🤷🏽♀️
You're right about that but in countries with more parties, the tendency to corruption and greed isn't any less. Poverty already in existence is ignored while banks that plundered their own vaults line up to receive free taxpayer money to loan out at extortionate rates. Too few have too much and too many have too little.
I'm not religious, at all, and yet the only idea that seems reasonable to me, in the interest of trying to live decently under these circumstances, is to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself.
I'm actually blown away by how ignorant of a person you are but it's all good I mean you got to have some of those in this world right. Republicans always do what's right yet the Democrats all they want to do is destroy this world make inflation go through the roof raise the gas prices close down all the gas lines get electric vehicles out pay you to stay at home and do nothing so that they can own you. Yet Republicans they want you to go work and if you do lose your job there's a certain amount of time that they'll allow you to get unemployment but then you got to go get your ass a job and start working because it's going to get cut off but that's not what the Democrats they want you just to stay at home and rely on them. Why do you think all of these illegals and all these people and Democrats are actually turning on Biden right now because they're so sick of all the bull crap that he's doing but you're too blind you're probably watching ABC News and all the fake media that want to cover up shit it's cool do what you do I'm actually not even going to read your comment from here on out because you're that ignorant and I can't help it but you're just too ignorant for me and you can continue to believe whatever it is you want to believe and get brainwashed
@Socal99
You're so shockingly dull that I have to wonder if it might be a bad diet or an accident, maybe, that is responsible for the completely erroneous equation of Democrats with communism and the completely unsupported idea that there is an actual tangible and demonstrable connection between the politicians who feverishly line their own pockets, whether in Washington or at the state level, and their electorates.
You should try making some sense, rather than just noise. Apart from our relatives and very close friends, and the very rare few genuinely altruistic people we may be lucky enough to get to know, there really aren't that many who can be honestly described as unconditionally on our side or having our backs, and the last place you'll be likely to find those rare and priceless people is in a political party. Politics is about keeping the largest possible amount of the population under control, while the politicians take care of themselves first and the electorate whenever, later, down the road, practically never. You owe it to yourself to wake up to that reality sooner rather than later, because the longer you put it off, the more it will hurt in the end.
@Buntyp yeah, I agree. I’m not implying that more political parties is good. I’m just implying representative “democracy” is a hoax.
I’m learning about representative democracies in class and even the more and more I learn about it, the idea just sounds bullshit and it’s obvious to me that the state is just trying to push this idea that direct democracy is impossible and representative democracy is the only way.
Which is blatant propaganda to push the US agenda. The US never talks about how it exploits and destroys countries with more resources just to send them over to western countries.
Or how several companies profit off of things like war, how people profit off of cheap prison labor creating the prison industrial complex, they don’t talk about how systemic poverty due to red lining and zoning policies still exist.
The UN is even more bullshit. They don’t save people, the UN actually let their workers get away with raping a bunch of women in my country and sweeping it under the rug. The UN is a terrorist organization that spreads the western countries imperialist agenda.
Capitalism is the problem. They’ll make us think we don’t have enough resources because of overpopulation but that’s just an eco fascist myth that’s been debunked. We don’t underproduced our resources. Data shows we actually greatly overproduce in agriculture. The free market is what creates artificial scarcity since that drives profits. Capitalism cares about profits more than human life, more than animal
Life, and more than our planets life.
That’s why tech billionaires like Elon Musk want to push the idea we have a future in space so badly.
They know they lie every time they say their companies do things to help the environment. They understand capitalism
Doesn’t have a solution for issues like climate change and because of that they and there rich buddies are going to leave up in space while the rest of us die along with the planet they destroyed.
Unless people start waking up
@socal99
you really think that republicans decreasing taxes for their rich buddies is helping you?
I mean it’s insane you call us brainwash yet you say republicans have done no wrong?
Your understanding of politics is very surface value.
Also don’t buy into the myth of an illegal. America has invaded countless country and enacted countless military coups to instate pro American leaders no matter if they’re fascist dictators or not.
When people are forced to flee these countries America obviously doesn’t want you to realize that the people who are labeled as illegal just want their families to be safe. They want their children to be safe, and if you were in that position you would do the exact same thing.
These people face sexual abuse at work constantly, have to deal with the fear of someone finding out and calling ICE on them which is an org that has been known to torture African people just to try and get them to sign their own deportation orders, they’ve tortured several
Immigrants ‼️
But somehow these immigrants are the problem. The problem in actuality is our borders and how unnecessary it is to police with brutal force how people enter a country.
To allow these people to be placed in such inhuman situations for nothing but political gain. Since both republicans and democrats hold up these border policies, both are responsible for the horrors that take place on the borders.
The Woke Mob is coming for everyone; no one is safe; and one day this country will be taken over by them.
I believe this is what happens when you have career politicians. They may start off with good intentions, but that little bit of power can change people. It can either make you realize what your becoming or it can make you grow corrupt. Power, money, greed. We need a serious turnover with fresh people and fresh ideas.
You have one group that refuses to acknowledge changes are needed to move forward as a society and another group that desires changes too far radical and stupid to even entertain thus it causes conflict.
Most Americans are too concerned w/ being right to let the truth get in the way. In America if someone has a different POV we spend the time to use personal attacks to attempt to drown out the message.
When a country is so extremely polarized, toxicity is inevitable.
Why did you put a photo of Obama when asking the question?
My answer is Extreme Right as well as Extreme Left-Wing Ideology. They are literally toxic.
Everyone’s fault, corrupt politics everywhere around the world because people are selfish
It is my Grandparents (Boomers) fault. They neglected their kids and let them run loose and get brainwashed in college.
35 years of Fox"news" propaganda and Putin's troll army did this.
politics is alway toxic as fuck. cause that's where hardcore personal agendas, private interest and corporational interest clashes.
Corporations spreading propaganda. They're the ones who really run the government, in case you didn't know.
It's because people decided that insulting your opponent was a better strategy than lauding your strengths to win.
It's the extremists fault. Both sides have extremes and it's always the most extreme point of view that gets TV time. We need to stop listening to the tranny shemales of the far left and the Nazis racist hillbillies in the far right.
Cause when you have a dude like Trump in office, it's hard to take anyone serious
The whole system needs to be burned to the ground and the party system needs to be made illegal.
1) two party system makes it seem more divided
2) free speech law
3) religion makes people morons.
It's mostly the left's fault. They're gaslighting the country
Americans are satanic I can't wait to move to sweden
Like two unstoppable masses colliding.
it is 100% the media's fault... but the media lean's left
the right by large. the right peddles lies and hate. both suck but the right is worse... for now.
and to the fools going against ''wokeism''... none of you even know what that even is! like those idiots who say that their against critical race theory... even though they admit that they don't know what it is... think for yourselves!
Except when they do know is what it is and you’re just talking shit.
@AllThatSweetJazz well, let's here what they say about CRT, then, shall we: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In6NVLANvLc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btsDibIdL1s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1YO3EqSaEU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NS5APXK9iI
The random voter isn’t too informative and is in spite of vice’s overt bias, the activist guy is informed. I don’t see the problem.
Now go pick from all the countless examples of anti-crt people who do know what it is.
@AllThatSweetJazz problem being that they fear something of which they know nothing about because they've been told to.
And then there's a bunch of other people that don't fear it when they should because they know nothing about it. It's a mess. But in the end the only relevant point is that separate from the ignorant masses, at the core of it is that one side is actually correct. Critical Theory is a toxic ideology and those against it are doing the right thing. Those for it, regardless of whether they know what it is or not are doing the wrong thing. Part of the problem of ignorance is the ideology itself being deliberately inconsistent and circular, thus confusing people. The point being to get people to support it without understanding it. So the people opposing it who can't articulate it really aren't any more notable.
@AllThatSweetJazz the left wing channels are pretty open about it. Critical race theory is an academic concept that is more than 40 years old. The core idea is that race is a social construct, and that racism is not merely the product of individual bias or prejudice, but also something embedded in legal systems and policies. the right simply hates it because they are told to.
Yes, that's the pleasant little sales pitch they give. You're missing a world of context in there and in the people who push it. Some of the core problems are, much like the Marxism it's rooted in, collectivist thinking, discrimination across numerous aspects of people, they complain about racism and then enact it even more harshly against others. "Embedded" racism, or whatever other discriminatory aspect, is used to reframe everything in present culture and in history to empower and corrupt and toxic social order. The right hates it because it's poison. The left only like it because the right hates it.
@AllThatSweetJazz can't you guys just say that you're racist? that'll make things easier.
Nope, because it doesn't ring true when it's the left who is arguing in favor of discrimination and the right is saying not to do that.
@AllThatSweetJazz dude... the left has gone after Obama, Trump and Biden over their treatment of immigrants... the right loves it. we all know who really discriminates who--very Trump supporter I know has racial hate... including those in my family. here's a great example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0onbdFVexKk
The right obviously doesn’t love it if you bother to think about it for two seconds. The whole point is that they shouldn’t be there in the first place. And you won’t find anyone on the right encouraging any mistreatment. Conditions are bad because they keep fucking coming and the left keeps encouraging it. They argue opposition to it is racism and encourage it in spite of saying that the US is super racist. It’s an obviously logically inconsistent set of ideas where the right does not have such holes on the matter. In no way does the left arguing in favor of illegal immigration refute them being in favor of discrimination. The left only engages in it because the right opposes it and there’s brown skinned people involved so it’s a chance to cry racism. There’s no substance beyond that.
Two protest of 12 Nazis is a good example of how it’s a dust speck of a problem. Now let’s get Madow to address the “protests” with hundreds or thousands of violent leftists for many many more consecutive nights.
Nazis are never going to completely go away, but the media doesn’t have the influence and reach to put a magnifying glass on this dust speck and pretend it’s even remotely a major issue facing the world today. Genuine journalists show the bigger picture beyond what ideologues like Madow want their audience to see, and so the same people aren’t being spooked by tiny nazi protests which are nothing new and certainly don’t explain the problems that are actually new. Leftist toxicity explains a much greater degree of the problems in society — ironically that they’ve cause or exacerbated.
@AllThatSweetJazz my father is a Trumpist... he wanted em shot and killed. look at this: www.theguardian.com/.../white-supremacists-rightwing-domestic-terror-2020 this has been going on in Trump's name for a long time.
Again, one person. I alone cancel him out.
As for the guardian article, it’s a guardian article. We can safely assume it’s ideologically motivated garbage even if the line of argument expressed in the title wasn’t a tired old thing. We’ve been around this block before. Not coincidently, much like what Critical Theory does, this media reframes everything to their liking.
And again I can’t help but notice we’re still ignoring the left where majority of the violence and incitement to it comes from.
@AllThatSweetJazz whatever claims you need to help you sleep at night. I walked away from a channel that I really liked that crossed a line. that's a convection you don't have.
I can’t relate. I never had a channel I like cross any line because I always chose correctly. I was careful about who I invest in and trust, and I side with them because they show the same care and responsibility with presenting the truth and being properly critical of everything they hear. People who are infrequently wrong and can honestly acknowledge it when they are — highlighting how infrequent it is. These are the people likely calling wherever you walked away from shit before you even realized there was a problem. And here you are still referencing Vice and The Guardian. Still in denial.
@AllThatSweetJazz there's an an unlimited amount of sources that show the same thing. www.congress.gov/.../BILLS-116s894is.xml www.splcenter.org/.../white-nationalist www.justice.gov/.../opinion-grave-threats-white-supremacy-and-far-right-extremism www.thedailybeast.com/mary-trump-what-really-shocked-me-about-my-family-and-the-kkk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n2q8Bfu31c
