Take Ohio. Trump won by 10%, probably will again this year.
But Ohio voted by over 14% margin to put abortion rights into its state’s constitution. And legalized marijuana.
Why do they vote for candidates that vow to take that shit away?

Trump never said he would take away abortion as far as I know, he said he would leave it to the states.
His policies on drugs are abhorrent to me. He would kill drug dealers if the American people would accept it but he understands they won't. I think all drugs should be legal as long as you're not using them on the road, in front of your kids, etc.
But as a person living in Ohio, I am definitely going to vote for Trump. He's far more intelligent and coherent than Joe Biden and did wonderful things like institute the remain in Mexico policy, not start any new wars and so on.
I really don't care about ad hominem attacks. JFK was a scumbag who cheated on his wife but he was still a good president in most people's eyes. Bill Clinton got head in the oval office but people still love him.
And frankly I don't believe any allegations put forth against Trump. In reality a small percentage of them are probably true but it's just so much garbage I throw it all out.
Just a side Q: why are these doctors wearing masks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHVE4MbfZ6I
It was a dog and pony show, theater. Politicians would put on their masks right before the camera started rolling and then they would take them right back off after the feed was cut off.
The 6-ft rule? Originally the establishment wanted it to be 10 ft but then corporations complained so they reduced it to 6 ft. Very scientific xD
For young people especially, the lockdowns themselves did more damage than the virus ever could to them.
Low fatality rate of millions…lol
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality
Careful of the appeal to authority logical facilicy. A redneck with a shitty webcam is still right when he days 2+2=4.
I mean the actual fatality rate. My chances to die were very low. If I was ever infected I didn't notice. If you're old or vulnerable then yeah, isolate until it blows over. I wouldn't use mRNA tech personally, it's too young and Fauci had a conflict of interest.
Retailers actually had policies of non-enforcement of mask mandates, employees were to say nothing. Why? Americans got too violent and corporations (justifiably so) don't wanna touch that with a long pole.
I support non-violent protests unless you are attacked then of course defend thyself protester!
I was off but here:
"No U. S. federal vaccination laws exist, but all 50 states have laws requiring children attending public school to be vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (generally in a DTaP vaccine); polio (an IPV vaccine); measles and rubella (generally in an MMR vaccine); and varicella (chickenpox). All 50 states allow medical exemptions, 45 states allow religious exemptions, and 15 states allow philosophical (or personal belief) exemptions. D. C. allows medical and religious exemptions."
So yeah, all but 5 states allow non-medical exemptions.
Politics is fucked up. Has been for years.

Republicans control the media. So people want democratic policies but not democrats, because the media works overtime to keep people brainwashed into thinking "democrat" is a derogatory term.
I think because Trump appeals to quite a lot of young voters? The whole meme thing, all the young men you see online who support him. So they probably also like weed. And are not that fussed about abortion. He was never a typical GOP candidate.
Because they recognize the difference between federalized abortion rights versus the states' rights to choose for themselves.
Not in this case, no. The constitution doesn't grant the police power to Federal Congress; it grants it to the states. In terms of the supremacy of federal law, there isn't really any body of law that Congress has power over that would give them the ability to preempt state laws.
In the US system, as things presently stand, the most the federal government can do to enshrine the right to an abortion is what they did with Roe; declare that women have the right to unhindered access the abortion services made available to them by their state.
It can fought out in the courts. But yes federal laws can be used to override states law. Repubs are reviving a 19th century sexual purity law.

The difference is that the federal laws are legislating around abortion through things like interstate commerce, but they aren't legislating the act of abortion itself. In each of the examples of that article, the cases are pertaining to things like the First Amendment right to communicate information about contraceptives; that was the basis for Comstock.
It's really difficult to guarantee the right to an abortion on the Federal level because there's no enumerated basis for Congress to write the legislation. It's not a question of taxing/spending. It's not a question of interstate commerce. The extent to which abortion laws are "necessary and proper" is already covered by the Hyde Amendment, which protects women in the event that the abortion is medically necessary or if she's the victim of a sex crime.
Yeah, I would vastly prefer that. This country spends a lot of time getting sucked down such trivial rabbit holes.
you do realize that regardless of state law, federal law trumps it always regardless of that caveat
thankfully you live here with me.
that's not a hope or dream. it could be the future. the current climate is making that reality. civil war is coming. it's different this time but you'd be glad we have our 2nd amendment you so hate lol. i wonder if it happens before or after trump?
yes. and your people control them. i would do well in a wasteland. all i gotta do is go east or west lol
trump is on your side. i don't trust him. i think conservatives are scrambling and confused. i seriously worry for our future
Sigh. Spreading lies and casting shade about your boyfriend again, I see. 🙄
It's all a game. Just pettier in modern times.
Probably because abortion is all Biden has.
