If you are interested in geopolitics, you may find this article illuminating:
https://consortiumnews.com/2022/02/11/the-ultimate-end-of-nato/
What are your thoughts?
No. Also NATO was all about “Keep the Soviets out, the Allies in, and the Germans and Japanese down”. The article is wrong in much of it's assertion.
Also, there is no proven "plan" to invade by Russia. Just as the West cried "wolf" with Saddam, Qaddafi, Afghanistan and many others, which turned out to be lies, so it is here.
The actual opposite is true in the case of Ukraine. The West want to create a Cuban Missile Crisis-esque situation for Russia in arming the country for Western benefit. The Ukrainians themselves have demanded to see what "proof" the West has that there is no be a Russian invasion.
All in all Biden, Boris, Macron and others want to distract the public from their own domestic crisis. As Russia not only has military power, but financial and resource power as well seeing as it is a large oil and gas producing nation.
Ukraine has dik to do with it. This is about whether or not Germany and Russia will join together to provide Germany with energy and natural gas from Russia. The US wants Germany to continue to be its little bitch. And if Germany steps out of line and provides for itself instead of being a little neo colonial gulag of the USA, then the USA will launch a war to obliterate the Nordstream 2 pipeline.
It has nothing to do with being a butch poser or a little weenie for Pentagon contractor shareholders or making up for your pathetic problems with your tiny johnson issues.
Good article (yes, I read the article in its entirety), and he's right - NATO is irrelevant, it serves no function.
Another point that he made that almost no one in the West seems to consider whenever economic sanctions towards Russia are discussed, is when he states that,
"In short, any sanction package that targets Russian energy and/or access to banking institutions will hurt Europe far more than Russia"
Exactly. The truth is that Russia doesn't need Europe, but Europe needs Russia. The Germans know this, just ask them, but the Americans either cannot appreciate this fact, or simply do not care.
In theory russia is more than capable of bringing the war to American soil, it could easily esculate into nuclear war. Who ultimately wins is irrelevant, the cost would be immense. Putin knows that's a price the west isn't prepared to pay for a country most people can't find on a map. I suspect it's a bargaining chip for something.

Ritter's a reputable voice.
not immediately. maybe a section.
I seriously doubt Putin would slowly and carefully arrange all those resources to start an invasion and take Ukraine.
He's been pushing these buttons for over a year, he is pushing the issues.
they may take ukraine like they did crimea if they don't get what they need. he can drag this out longer than our patience allows.
I wouldn't want to be flying in a plane anywhere near that area.
That’s it’s an incredibly shit article.
That Russia cannot simply ‘destroy’ the Ukraine 🤦
That a country that puts its entirety of capital ships and task groups on exercise, shifts major units from its pacific fleet to the Med and also from Baltic fleets to the Black Sea, has amphibious naval group in the Black Sea and a major strike group in the Black Sea, is not simply fucking around.
Ref the Update.
Has the asker actually read any of the opinions 🤦
That is rubbish. Its without a doubt that Russia has a plan to invade Ukraine and was in fact trying to. They sort of bungled it however and now they are looking for a way to pull back without looking weak so that they can potentially try again later (this is not even the first time). The whole "expose NATO incompetence" was never the plan, just your everyday propaganda.
You have to understand EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING Russia does is related to Istanbul. Ever since they put their sights on Istanbul in the early 1700s the city has eluded them. They're not doing this for NATO or Ukraine. It's for Istanbul. Also Russia doesn't like direct conflict. Infact they can't afford it. They're still feeling the consequences of Stalin and have a severe population crisis. They cannot and they will not.
Eh, why would it expose NATO’s impotence? NATO’s strength comes from article 5 and overwhelming conventional military power, which would never be triggered by a conflict in Ukraine.
Europe ain't going to anything. They can't handle their own people
I did read it
It does seem like they plan on invading Russia.
I doubt it will be during the Olympics though, cause that might hurt the relationship between China and Russia.
Maybe a little after?
They don't need to, so no.
Their tactic is the same as with crimea, demographic replacement.
The fight between militias is just a way to scare away the average population.
watch for conflict between Iran and Israel if Russia invades Ukraine. Russia told Israel no more bombing Syria.
Israel is cowardly. Syria is tired of getting ankle bit from the safety of Lebanon. So if Israel decides to go it alone against Iran, it will have its hands full with Iran and Syria unless it decides to use the illegal nukes that it won't admit that it has. And if it does that, woa be to Israehell. I don't think Russia or China would stand by and let the U. S. assist. That scenario, not Ukraine, could be the beginning of a global nuclear war.
I, personally, live for the day when Izraehell is annihilated and the name is removed from maps.
They do not
No... it's a trap
