6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Trump helped cause the crisis by being soft on Russia, by extorting Ukraine by denying them military aid unless they helped him win re election, and by obstructing the transition to the new administration. Indeed, the whole GOP had a hand in that. Biden has managed to reunite NATO and, some extent, and got a substantial chunk of the GOP to remember that Rusdia is not an ally.
Now it's also true that any time anyone ever stands up to bullies it requires sacrafice, and the more people who participate, the less sacrafice for each person. Biden will definitely not be able to get those Republican voters who want a crisis to sacrafice even so much as paying for a yellow ribbon, whereas trump would have forced everyone to sacrafice more than necissary with no concern over whether or not it resulted in more civil unrest - but that presumes trump would have done anything at all against Putin, instead of joining him.09 Reply- +1 y

A Liberal isn't that misinformed and stupid to believe the crap you spew! I read the things you post and I'm convinced you're a poser. You're probably farther right than Tucker Carlson.

The president will obey our masters that allow him to be in office. And, that is not limited to the president; it includes congress and governors. That is why, although they talk a different talk to get elected, once in office, the democrats and republicans vote alike. There a few for hot button issues such as abortion and flag burning where they dont vote the same. However, those issures don't matter to our trillion aire masters; probably the international bankers that own the federal reserve and other central banks.

Biden, assuming he and his staff finally get the correct intel, might not necessarily understand what they're looking at.13 Reply- +1 y
I don't need Trump to describe Biden as 'Sleepy Joe' but, yes, I agree with a vast majority that our current "President" doesn't seem to have a grasp of his reality.

Putin he doesn't need to fear the US in terms of the Ukraine anyways.
Because the US entering the war at the side of the Ukraine is vastly unpopular Putin keeps doing whatever he plans.01 Reply

This guy is seriously just a puppet. I don't know who's pulling his strings, but it's obvious that head is filled with Jell-O.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yIt wouldn’t have happened with Trump in office. Not because Trump is some big, scary guy that Putin doesn’t want to cross or anything.
He’s not interested in making Trump look bad. Otherwise Trump
may have started trusting his own intelligence over Putins word.

Right now, every indication is that it's been blown way out of proportion, so sure Trump would have been better, but keep in mind that the State Department and the military-industrial complex is the same pit of vipers no matter who is President.

Trump is a businessman he makes deals big deals by being firm but friendly. Knowing this balance is an art! Trump has had a lot of success and failures doing this. Biden provoked and deliberately escalated this by saying Putin was going to invade. In reality Putin put a show of force on every year there and this year was just another year until Biden started provoking Putin. Biden lied about Putin's plans. Putin then had to respond to fix the image Biden put out. It's a long-complicated mess deliberately created by Biden.

+1 yBiden handled it perfectly fine tbh.
16 Reply- +1 y
Why not?
Clearly, military action is out of the equation from the beginning, which leaves sanctions and deploying to NATO allies. So deploying to NATO allies, went perfectly fine. And the sanctions themselves need to be coordinated with allies and consider domestic interests, which will also lead to strong sanctions. For example, Italy will still need go import nearly 50% of its gas from Russia, which won’t happen if Russia is kicked off SWIFT. And no, you cannot source this much elsewhere.
Meanwhile, on the diplomacy side of things and constantly exposing plans of Russia, that went perfectly fine as well.
Because thenUSA cannot commit to military action and finite sanctions (because you have allies to consider as well), they never get to decide whether Russia invades or not. - +1 y
No sane American president would have gone further than economic sanctions, to be entirely frank.
- +1 y
And that would have been utterly stupid

We can point to North Korea where Trump threatened with “fire and fury the world has never seen” to stop nuclear program, went on a few meetings with Kim Jong Un, while North Korea never even considered to denuclearize like Trump wanted him to.
And Russia is far more dangerous than North Korea
