That depends if you wanted the war to end you would go to Moscow, if you want to prolong the conflict and risk your life you go to Kiev and promos them even more weapons and support.
As it stands right now more than 200,000+ people have died in this war, the Ukraine has already lost 1/3rd of its population to Russian weapons or fleeing, while much of her critical infrastructure has been destroyed.
If Ukraine still hopes to win this war it Unfortunately already going to be a Pyrrhic victory.
They would have been better off at least verbally promising Russia whatever it wanted to buy time for them to be in a position to make it obvious enough to Russia they could not win at an acceptable cost before they started.

Russia's choice to invade Ukraine was strategically very unwise, thou holding Ukraine may bolster their defense perimeter slightly, that added advantage minor and inconsequential compared to the cost. As Russia very soon thereafter found out.
What is really of Value to Russia or rather the other way around is China. China as a country has everything Russia lacks and Russia has everything China needs.
That is why historically these 2 countries when aligned are a great threat to the world. It is also why the breaking of their alliance in the 1970's was soo critical to winning the cold war.
Unfortunately that alliance is being reformed.

You were told Russia was weak with an economy the size of Italy, and was not a significant threat to NATO. The last year Russia has proven not only is this true, Russia's problems only start there.
Russia should have been able to walk over Ukraine even in its weakened state because the Ukraine isn't much better. Russia's only incompetents and corruption caused her armies to stall and run out of resources before they could even reach Kiev.
In the end sheer numerical and economic advantage over the comparatively tiny Ukraine still all but guarantee Russian victory. Granted The incompetent Russia will slog thou it as a very high cost of hundreds of thousands of lives and a nearly completely wasted Ukraine
@oddbeme 200,000+ people have been injured or killed. Much of the Ukraine's critical infrastructure has been destroyed. Large shares of the Ukraine population has been driven out.
The Ukraine was never going to gain anything worth the cost they already paid in fighting this war against a vastly superior enemy. All they had to do was tell Russia what Russia wanted to hear to buy more time for either Putin to die, or them to acquire the means to make said war too costly for Russia to start.
Joining NATO was the Ukraine original plan to do that, but joining NATO takes too much time, and the Ukraine should have backed out of that and looked for a shorter option like a defense treaty with the USA, UK, or France first, when it was clear Russia would not give them the time.
Now Russia and Ukraine is ever more committed to victory having lost soo much itself, a war the Ukraine still can't win no matter how much its leader outlaws any suggestion to that effect. Russia will simply grind Ukraine and its people to nothing.
Countless tens if not hundreds of thousands more will die, and ever larger parts of the country will be reduced to ashes for nothing.
Is that what you want for the Ukraine?
it certantly isn't in the interest of theses united States we can only lose from this war.
1: We lose money and equipment we send,
2: We Lose by undermine the value of NATO in giving away its defense services for free,
3: We lose by forcing Russia into the hands of an actually powerful enemy whom with Russia's vast energy and resources becomes effectively unstoppable by us.
You do realize the only way we could halt Chinese aggression is via a naval blockade to cut off their factories access to the worlds energy and raw materials right?
The choice to drive Russia into their hands is soo catastrophically bad strategically for our country one has to wonder if Joe Biden was paid to do this.
Trump’s silver spoon ass would never have gone to a war zone. Hell, he cowered in his bunker during the BLM protests. If Trump was president today, Ukraine would be back behind the iron curtain and he’d be praising Putin’s actions. Biden is a dope but at least he understands the history and global danger of unchecked Russian aggression, rather than prioritizing a juvenile man crush on a cruel autocrat.
For your information. Trump went to Afghanistan on a Thanksgiving Day while he was in office. Probably had dinner with the ones that your President left behind. He didn't phone ahead to tell the world that he was coming, either.

While that is true, there is an even more simple question, Why didn't Russia invade Ukraine during all of the Trump Presidency?
They invaded Crimea during the last Obama/Biden presidency why did they do nothing more during Trump's 4 years?
The answer is fairly obvious:
1: They felt trump was far less predictable and unwilling to get pushed around.
2: Most importantly Trump kept American production up and energy prices down, as such Russia never felt they could afford to start a large military conflict in Ukraine.
Make no mistake this war is a direct result of Joe Biden's election.

The conclusion is: Biden is at fault for the escalation in Ukraine cause he has connections with corrupt companies there. Trump has not. Thus trump would not have escalated the situation in Ukraine. From an outsider's perspective the US was far more feared under trump than it is now. And had it still been under trump the Russians would have looked for peaceful solutions instead of flat out invading Ukraine with the confidence that they are unstoppable.

If Trump was President he would not have to go to either place. He is not on Ukraine's payroll like the Big Guy so there is no reason to go there. He was making the NATO deadbeats pay their fair share so maybe NATO would be taking most of the responsibility for this war.

The thing that was illegal was Hunter got paid 80,000/month to sit on the board. He admitted that he knew nothing about natural gas, Ukraine or Russia. He basically admitted he was just there to act as a conduit for access to Joe Biden. The fact that now we have a president who is willing to spend every last tax dollar in Amwrica to back up Zalinsky against Putin. The US has poured over 160 billion dollars and pledges more while all of NATO put together has kicked in a tiny fraction of that. The UK has spent 5 billion, nobody else has contributed even 1 billion, most giving nothing. Trump would not be letting them skate on this.

Look at what else didn't happen during Trump's 4 year presidency. Russia didn't invade the Ukraine, where as they did invade the Ukraine during Both Biden Administrations.
This was for a very simple and predictable reason:
1: Russia felt Joe Biden (who ran Ukrainian policy under Obama too) was weak and predictable.
2: Most importantly Joe Biden drive the cost of energy thou the roof, where as Trump drove it thou the floor meaning Russia didn't feel they could afford to start a major war.
doubt he go to moscow, but he'd meet putin, might meet Z... oddly, that is the symbol for the Russians... go figure.
Trump panders to people he cannot control. He uses words to control the others. If he can pander and thus influence the other powerful people, it can bring about stability... maybe.

Of trump were president, the war would have been over at the one year mark. Once the invasion failed in the first 3 months he would have made a peace everyone could live with. Hungary just said that only trump could negotiate the peace. Biden is an empty suit. So is his VP.
Donald would have handed Putin the launch codes a year ago and been telling Fox News that Russia is freeing Ukraine. I'm glad we have anybody but Donald in the White House. I wasn't thrilled for Biden, but he's a lot better than the alternative.

For example a reasonable guess is Donald Trump would have done far less having concluded America had nothing to gain from becoming involved in this conflict.
The Ukraine is not part of NATO, it has nothing we want, and becoming involved only risks conflict with the worlds largest nuclear power while undermining the value of NATO membership in giving away its perks for free. Something every business man understand unlike career politicians.
That said its very unlikely Russia would have invade Ukraine at all if Trump was still president, they had 4 years to do so while Trump was President and largely halted their military advances during Trump's presidency.
The reason was quite obvious:
1: Trump kept energy prices low, thus Moscow couldn't really afford to start a war.
2: Trump was far less predictable, thus Putin couldn't really afford to take the risk.

Driving resource rich Russia into China's hands is compromising our one defensive option against china which is cutting them off from the world's resources.
