Everyone enjoys freedom and loves all the protection of the law and sharing their opinions but few will pick up a weapon and fight for it... they seem to think that responsibility falls to someone else. It is easy to claim to be a patriot and support the troops when it comes at no cost to you. Just like it is easy to cherry pick things to complain about.
I served my entire 20's and 30's in the military and I have fought and seen all the war I want to see in one life time... but if I was called back I would gladly serve again.
The fact of the matter is that if there was a draft we would need more ground troops, and the young and strong are best suited for it. Most guys over 30 in the military are experienced veterans that have put in a decade or more of training and have very specialized skills. We can contract for technical specialists without drafting them, but most "people" under 25 do not have the experience or expertise to serve other than on the ground in combat under the leadership of the over 30 crowd that has been serving for decades.00 Reply

18-25 are best fit for this.
Sure, there are 30yo people that are still on fit-physical condition, and they can join too.
But in majority, 18-25 are the most reliable candidate in terms of physical condition.
Mature people need to lead, not fight. Mature people are more aware of the world and see it on a bigger picture. Younger people will just go "US will kick Russia's ass" without anyone mature leading them.05 Reply
Asker+1 yMmm and those mature people who are meant to lead what are they doing all day that proves there leading? No by 30 they should be drafted makes no sense to send a young person to experience that type of trauma no sense at all
- +1 y
What they are doing all day? Leading does not mean just ordering around lol.
It involves planning. Planning takes time if you do it right.
"No by 30 they should be drafted makes no sense to send a young person to experience that type of trauma no sense at all" -and it makes sense to have a 30yo, or anyone experience trauma?
Asker+1 yYou really think someone that young can handle trauma? No your just cowards. This whole drafting thing proves it.
- +1 y
Well similar to sports the peak physical condition is in your 20s whereas after that it begins to decline. That's why many people in sports retire relatively young. They draft young soldier simply because they are young, abled bodies at the peak of their physical condition and mouldable mentally. It's much easier to brainwash folk who are young and impressionable then more mature adults who have experienced more of the world, have a family and more or less have their life together in their 30s (of course I'm speaking in general). In repsonse to your second point, no body wants to experience that type of trauma no matter what age your at, but you do it because it is necessary. You do it because the alternative is your city getting destroyed and your women and children killed or r*ped. You get the best warriors you got to fight, simple as that. Sending your b-team doesn't make sense.

Asker+1 yOld men should be drafted cause they’re old..
Asker+1 yTHANKYOU! Men are so backwards. I think they should be drafted in their 30s that’s their PrImE after all right? Let these kids live they’re so jealous of young boys and it shows.
Asker+1 yI don’t think 18-25 year olds should be drafted and it’s like who will young women end up with makes no sense to take away the next generation just backwards
- +1 y
Usually when they draft all young men, women get with foreign men cause there's literally no men their age around them. Young men shouldn't be drafted cause they're not trained for war and are quite immature (especially to this days and age).
Young men aren't the same nowadays to what hey were during the ww1, in ww1 they were proud to go fighting for their country now they don't want to go to war at all.
Asker+1 yForeign men as in young men from foreign countries? Sad. No it’s something to be proud of don’t get me wrong but they aren’t done growing yet like this whole thing blows my mind.
I wish women can speak up more against men it makes me so angry that they’re so manipulative they lie lie lie.
Do you see them all here suddenly claiming that they have family and that they aren’t fit for war at that age because of strength and agility. All I can do is laugh
HOW ARE WE LETTING THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS SHIT 😂😂😂
How are you too old to fight for your country when your in your best years but not old enough to be obsessing over college girls? Hmm.
Asker+1 yOh yes exactly. In today climate we are even more immature as young people. Things have changed a lot
- +1 y
Yes, is it. Too what are they thinking in drafting all young men? How are people going to make baby? Cause if they send all men to die they're seriously going to be in deep shit then they go around crying they doesn't have enough workforce so they go asking other countries to send them their young men to work.
Yes, this is ironic considering they're always going on about how they're stronger in their 30s and more attractive too if they have family they can go to war, the young men don't have family they should have one before being send away to die...
I guess people are used to their shit XD
I'm wondering too XD
Asker+1 yLmao they’re so dumb 😭😭 I swear. If anything ever happens I hope women wake up by then and speak against them. Men are sneaky as hell.
Asker+1 yNo look it up women can’t get drafted for wars anymore

Asker+1 yI know no WW is happening any time soon but Their asses could be drafting our future husbands it’s on at all. It’s not giving. So yes we would Care I’d and I don’t think that’s a good excuse that you’ve just given by the way. And women do care they just don’t question things enough. They’re taught not to challenge things especially men.
Asker+1 yWe do care and I’d be pissed*
- +1 y
My statement that most people don't care was by no means an endorsement. My brother turned 18 as the country was gearing up for war in Iraq- it was obviously going to happen, it was obviously a terrible idea, and while many people decried the war (it only had about 50% popular support when it started), few cared about what our boys might go through.
My father was red-green colorblind, and apparently that lets you see through jungle-style camouflage. The slavers were VERY interested in him as he was finishing up high school during the Vietnam war. He got lucky; it ended before he graduated, but people he knew went over there, and some of them didn't come back. You'd think that would make an impression, maybe change someone's willingness to support certain policies, but no. When the "agree to make your life public property or go to jail" card came in the mail, my brother and mom got into the biggest, longest fight they ever had. When dad came home and asked what was going on, my brother thrust the card at him, and he collapsed into a chair, staring at it silently. I don't know if he even blinked. He was still sitting there unmoving when my brother stormed off from the argument and I ran and went to bed.
If you do care, make it a political issue. Tell candidates running for office that the 13th Amendment is NOT a suggestion, and that you'll be voting accordingly. The issue WAS being forced through the courts- the last SCOTUS ruling was in 1917, when it was ruled a "reciprocal obligation" of the right to vote. The National Coalition for Men finally forced it to the bench, unfortunately on the grounds of sexual exclusion, since that was all that was available, and won- the last appeal failed, but they were prepared to take it before SCOTUS again, but then the guy leading the charge was murdered in July of 2020, and the Biden administration specifically TOLD the court not to take the case.
Caring is good- but talk is cheap. What will you DO to make it stop?
Asker+1 yOh wow that’s so sad. Thanks for sharing this. I would love to make it a political issue I don’t even know where to begin though.

Well, the first step is to write your Congress (wo) men, and let them know it's important to you. It's likely to get drowned out right now, but making your voice heard is an important first step.

So you may have someone at 35 called up before someone at 20.

No it’s not disgusting it relates to things like trades, ability to support a family.
Historically it was single men, who are most often in that age range.
Men with families tend to be over 25, usually 30 plus.
As someone who is an active reservist, I would be called up early.

+1 yThey want peak physical shape and fighting capability.
Some 30 year olds are in great shape and are still formidable but the overall numbers show that they are already in a mild decline.
Maybe if a country was desperate they'd start drafting 30 year olds.08 Reply
Asker+1 yThen stop saying 30 is your prime and that your still young at that age.
- +1 y
What are you talking about?
Even star athletes in soccer leagues, the NBA, MLB, tennis, the NFL, boxers, MMA fighters... many only play in their 20s. Some last until their mid 30's, very rarely to athletes last until 40 and their speed, explosiveness and quickness is diminishing.
This is for humans not just men. Female tennis stars and WNBA players etc. are in decline in their 30's and they have a harder time keeping up with the younger athletes.
Being in their prime in their 30's... that isn't speaking of top athletic prime but a person's earning power is going up, they are more mature, more confident, they know what they want in life, they aren't insecure and shy and awkward with no game... they are now confident and charming and they have successful careers (they aren't in college or delivering pizzas).
That is what a person in their 30's prime looks like. NOT that a 35 year old can still beat the fastest 22 year old in the 100 yard dash or beat them in the high jump... etc.
Asker+1 yYet you send a shy awkward human being to use a gun and serve a country? Ok.
- +1 y
You're weird.
They are still ADULTS with months of training.
You do know they strip away their pride and individualism in boot camp and train them up to follow orders, work together as a team and unit and be brothers.
Asker+1 yNo YOU ARE WEIRD. Your thinking is backwards.
- +1 y
Maybe they should draft 40 year olds. I don't even know who still has "drafts" but if they do... leave the young, strong, fit 20-30 years at home... draft the 40 year olds, they are even wiser. That would fit your logic.
Asker+1 yYep it is your prime after all. Leave the next generation who can produce actual healthy sperms alone.
Asker+1 yProbably why we have so much mental illness men who’s sperms have declined trying to produce HM
8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Well, when I was doing military service, we were taught the body begins breaking down after age 23. And military service is not an ordinary job either. Plus younger people are considered more trainable. Furthermore, older people have more education and work experience that is useful in other facets of the war effort. Finally, a portion of these older men would already have done their time in the military.
Asker+1 ySo why do you call 30 your prime then
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yBecause young people are dumb and don't think very deeply. Young people are impressionable, a blank slate. They haven't been out in the world yet. So when given an order they're less likely to contemplate whether the order makes sense or not. And above all you want a soldier to be obedient.

no for me, I was a beast when I was in school and after, but it is medically proven that as you age you are no longer to be able to perform like you could when you were younger.
You start to lose muscle mass, you body slowly starts to not function like it did.
There was no way at 30 I could hit it hard all night go to work and do it all over again night after night like I could when I was in my late teens early 20's.
Asker+1 yLool what. Men are out hear screaming from their lungs how 30 is their prime and they’re young at that age whilst women are not and are no use bust SUDDENLY now it’s time to talk about war you send in young men who haven’t even finished fully developing? If there’s ever a WW3 they need to send young women to a camp close to young boys or something cause wtf. None of this makes any sense
- +1 y
Was not at my prime in my 30s either and judging by this comment section it probably isn't the case for most. Recently went back to school at age 31 to take my career a step further and I got to say, its been a bit more difficult pulling all nighters and in treating my body like shit expecting it to bounce back the next day - which is probably the case if your in a warzone. I also notice I pack on weight a lot easier now and definitely don't feel at the peak of my condition like how I was in my 20s. I felt mentally more sharp as well in my 20s. It should clue you in that most athletes retire young before they ever reach their 30s because by then their physical condition deteriorates. I don't know why you think 30 is prime condition for men. Early onset of health problems also often start in your 30s, body recovers less fast, etc. That being said I do think that while you are not at the peak of your physical condition in your 30s, the experience and maturity one develops by this age makes you a more rounded individual/productive member of society. Maybe you mean prime overall with regards to having the experience, skills and judgment to tackle life? That being said, if we are looking for the most physically fit men then 18-25 seems like your best bet while also giving some room to grow. More impressionable, easier to train, and to mold the mind as well. Great soldier material. Guys in their 30s are probably b-string, still pretty good but not as good physically. Also as they are older you won't get as much service out of them (as they age physical abilities will more sharply begin to fall off). Anyways that's my opinion. Rather then look to the 30 years olds who are on the onset of their physical decline, I think we need to start having the conversation about drafting the 18-25 year old women if we need the numbers. You know... equality and all. Cause they strong and independent ;).

It also means equal responsibilities. So after you sign up for the draft you can have a say in what age groups go.

I'm fine with that choice, actually. But make your choice.

Asker+1 yUhh not healthy ones.

Lol, no it’s your eggs that have a shelf life. I make brand new sperm daily.
Asker+1 ySigh. Once you hit 27 the quality of your sperm gets lower and lower. Children can be affect with autism and many more health issues. I literally studied biology in university.

Lol, that’s your old ass eggs doing that. Not my super sperm.

You don’t have a chance to vote against it, lol. So you’ll be stuck fucking old men. Get used to my wrinkly balls on your chin.
Asker+1 yFuck off. I will never have to fuck old men in my life. And if more people wake up we can speak against it. No way in 2022+ are you going to keep allowing young men to be killed they belong to/with us. It should be you asses at war.
- +1 y
Guess you’re going to have to get used to scissoring, then.
Asker+1 yNope they’ll be an outrage if it happens. This generation is stupid but not thaat stupid. Girls my age will peep the game.

your generation will lose the second someone uses the wrong pronouns, lol.
Asker+1 yLoool. Someone might get hurt that day but no one is losing. It’s a different gen and you will all SEETH
Asker+1 yBut anyways it needs to be older men getting drafted they technically have no use. No offence.

If we’re going on the basis of uselessness to society, I hate to break it to you, but you’re first.
Asker+1 yOh. do you think they’ll draft a size 0 5’3 arms like sticks tiny dainty hands and feet? No I’m too hot be drafted sorry. Even if they do I’ll get pregnant on that day trust and believe.
Asker+1 yBut anyways this just proves that men are so cowardly and a joke
