Donald Trump wasn't against NATO. All he insisted upon was that the United States no longer pay for its maintenance, that the other slacker countries (like Merkel's Germany) pay more on defence. That's it, that's all there was to it.

S. has been invading countries, toppling governments, funding, training and arming terrorist groups and stealing resources for the past 120 years.
