+1 yDone purely to appease the vanity of detergent-eating vermin. Otherwise, zero logic to it. If his being straight is so reee-worthy, nothing was stopping the modern Gomorrahites from simply making an original character, and trying to make him a better-written modern alternative. And make that dude gay instead.
But those behind the push for a gay Superman aren't interested in doing or being better. They're vandals and thieves, who'd rather simply steal and desecrate a culture to feed their own egos, rather than contribute to making anything better.
They have an infantile-demonic envious mindset: "If it's not actual Superman, as OUR trophy, then it 'doesn't count'!" they screech.
This same band of thugs are also the ones trying to resurrect Hillary running for the White House again. They can't hide that Brandon is an absolute disgrace. But they want to virtue signal having the first woman president as something they take credit for, regardless if she's actually qualified!
They also know Kamala is one of the most across-the-board hated women in the world. So they have a mindset that if it isn't Hillary, it "doesn't count!"
Much like Brandon insisting on a black woman for Supreme Court, who is pedo-friendly. It's all about the demographic pandering, no matter the qualifications nor consequences!
This same mindset will never be content with ruining US politics forever, nor with gay Superman. It's a human plague of locusts, that won't rest until toasters are racist - and you're eating earthworms to survive!215 Reply- +1 y

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIt depends on the reasoning behind it. I don't have a problem with Superman being "gay" per se. But like for example I grew up reading Archie comics. I appreciate the creator of Archie comics having a Christian message. When the creator of Archie comics died it eventually passed to an owner who was a big supporter of gay rights. Again I don't have a problem with this. But the new owner decided to introduce gay characters and change Riverdale to be a champion of gay rights. The creator never would have allowed this. I think it's disrespectful to the creator to not only change his vision. But completely do the opposite of his vision.
This is what SOME people will never get. The Bible is against homosexuality! Try to whitewash it all you want. It'll STILL be a sin. I'm sorry, debate that with God if you like. I'll love you as my brother if you're gay. But I'll NEVER accept your BEING gay. You made that CHOICE to be gay. This isn't a debate. This is what IS. If you cannot accept that. Then YOU'RE the INTOLERANT one. 🙂00 Reply
+1 yI would rather they push a new character to the forefront for us to consume. Getting really tired of Superman and Batman in all of its iterations! Let them rest for a moment and do something new. But that probably won't happen till that industry gets some 'new blood' in it.

@exitseven of course there would be! Comic fans don't want superman to be killed off. the characters a cultural icon. We just want that mofo and batman to take several seats, allllll the way in the back row so other characters in the DC universe can be presented without them even as a cameo. But the ole heads keep pushing the narrative of " you either get them or we kill em" like what kind of ultimatum is that? 🤣
i don't know about superman but i often wondered how batman got away with keeping a teen twink dressed in under roos locked in his basement? well all know what was going on there

+1 yHonestly, DC needs to put theses characters out to pasture--a no-doubt very controversial opinion because they are so iconic that they basically are the superhero genre, as in "a superhero world without Batman or Superman is like cereal without milk. It's just wrong".
However, if we go by their canonical introductions into the timeline, both Batman and Supes would be in their mid 80s at this point. 80 years is a lot of Comics, and in that time, they've already done the Crisis on Multiple Earths, they've fought across multiverses, and against enemies with powers that warp the foundation of reality. Eventually, you get to a point where the stakes have been raised so high that you literally cannot go higher; and conversely, everything that isn't as significant as the incident that raised the stakes is now effectively meaningless by comparison. I think one of the enemies in the DC Multiverse is basically a surrogate for "God", the power set is "whatever the writer wants it to be" and the only weakness is "whatever is required to end the story". Where do you go from there? Could you have make "gay Superman" work? Well, there's already precedent for an infinite number of different realities to coexist, so at least one of them must have a version of Superman where he fancies, well, men, but... do the fans really want that, and more importantly, does it even matter? You can only reuse the same character so many times before even the idea of infinite variations of that character become stale?
Do we really need more Batman and Superman? Why not give someone else a chance?00 Reply- 8.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yIt's fucking STUPID!! So is every other aspect of this bullshit woke/pc culture!! What's next, Wonder Woman becomes a black guy that used to be a pimp and gets a sex change and becomes a lesbian pedophile? How long before Pepe LePew becomes a fag? Maybe Speedy Gonzales should suddenly become a Swiss horse. Yosemite Samantha as a bull dyke. Do we suddenly turn The Beatles into Chinese women? He was created as a straight white guy, let him fucking STAY a straight white guy!! WHY is this such a big fucking crime, now?
Just grow the fuck up, get over it and give it a fucking rest, already!!!10 Reply His name means "Voice of God" with "El" being the name of the Hebrew God who is very much opposed to homosexuality.
If you make Superman "Gay" you are opposing the original developers of the character, who proposed Superman as an Allegory of the Hebrew Messiah, who can't be Gay because the Hebrew Messiah is sinless, according to the Book of Isaiah.
So, Superman cannot break any of the 613 Hebrew commandments. He cannot commit adultery and he cannot be a homosexual, and he cannot lie, as written by the original creators of the character.00 Replyit's stupid. i don't have anything against gays, but it's clearly just to be woke. it's just dumb to make a heterosexual male character female/lgbtq+ for no proper reason.

Joking aside, it would be an interesting change to Superman's character if he were gay, plus I think his costume color would be different as well, I kinda hope we see a gay superman in a future film or TV Series (Live Action or Animated), as long as it's done right.00 Reply- 704 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.

I also hate most retcons, but gay superman isn't clark kent, it's his son, who I don't know much about, so I have no idea if its a retcon or not. Also with every series doing multiverse stuff, even retcons aren't retcons anymore.

And so on and so forth. Also, how do you explain Lois Lane as his main squeeze if he's gay. They're taking an American icon and ruining him.
Mind you, I have nothing against gays. If they want to create a new gay superhero, fine. Maybe they should. But don't mess with Superman!00 ReplyWhy does a comic series that's main focus is action and adventure being focused on something as ridiculous as sexuality?

00 Reply2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Assuming what you're saying is true, Superman being gay doesn't bother me. But them suddenly deciding "oh and by the way he's gay" is clearly this shallow, weak, empty virtue signal.
I assume Superman's heterosexuality has been indicated in the past, but even if not, it's certainly not the first time media retcons things in an attempt to show how accepting and self-righteous they are (as long as the thing in question is something they agree with, that is).00 ReplyIt's fine with me. Anonymous(25-29)+1 yJust why? If you want to have a gay super hero, make a new one. Making a pre-existing hero gay makes the implication that a gay character cannot possibly be interesting unless they take the form of an already popular character. If I was gay, this would only repel me. It's such a crass and lazy attempt to have representation.
Also, fuck Lois Laine apparently, thrown into the memory hole. She seemed to be one of the biggest motivations for Clark Kent to be the hero he was.20 Reply

I liked Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) but they crippled the character both in the story line and Perry White's omission of "The American Way", when he said "truth justice and all that stuff".
1. Superman would not have disobeyed the will of his "heavenly father" Jor-El or his "earthly father" Jonathan Kent by abandoning his mission on earth in behalf of an alleged chunk of Krypton that could not possibly have survived the explosion.
2. and, even more important, he would not have left Lois Lane HOLDING (or, at least, carrying) THE BABY.
Routh could have gotten wealthy from the Superman franchise. He's 43. He could do at least one more movie.

But Superman isn't gay, he is dating Lois Lane.
Obviously they want to be edgy and modern but it seems to me that they best way to be edgy in the modern world would be to launch a 7 foot tall blond haired blue eyed muscular male.
