Will Smith needs to divorce his wife, he's trapped in a bad marriage, she's forced him to accept an 'Open Marriage' that is one sided, and it is not good for his mental health, but if he does divorce her and she contests it they live in California which is a 'no fault' state, so she'll get 50% or more of everything he owns depending on the judge, ans she will loose nothing. The best thing she could do is just give him a divorce and let him be happy.

This is the sort of a white knight behavior that gets a lot of men killed and badly injured defending women who don't give a damn about them. Personally I wouldn't lift a finger to defend any woman for any reason assuming she was not a child. In this case, the woman involved, nominally his wife, cheated on him. The fact that he lets her even live with him is amazing. It's also very sad if he is enough of a slave to her to put up with her shity behavior. He has now arguably ruined his own career to defend her so-called could defend her so-called honour of which she has little. This whole thing was disgusting and his lack of a backbone is even more disgusting.
