in a given year police officers have over 400 million interactions with the public everything from rescuing cats from storm drains to responding to a drunk driving accident to stopping a active shooter. Out of those 400 million interactions roughly 900 people are shot and killed by a police officer. For simplicity sake 500 are white 300 are black 100 are Spanish and the rest are Asian American indian etc etc. Some times they fuck up. I mean they are only human I think most of them are good or at least want to do the right thing. Imagine though you are tasked with a job no one really wants to do but has to be done by some one were at any moment a situation could go from mundane to killing you and taking you away from your family in a instant. The fact that they are the ones who HAVE to deal with the assholes of society I am kinda suprised that they don't shoot 10x more people.

Out of all the cops and state troopers there are in all the states I would say less than 1% are bad. There is bad in every profession Doctors Nurses Senators Congress people Priest, Ministers and Rabbi and the list con go on no profession is exempt. So, for one fuck up all are thrown in the mix with them, YES cops should be held to a higher moral standard than most because their first reaction can be a matter of life and death. Sometimes by accident it happens a real accident someone dies an innocent is killed was it premeditated not most the time sometimes yes that has to be determined in a court of law not on the street The 99% are good and honest hardworking working a hard dangerous job So for all their faults I still would rate police 5 stars. If for nothing other pinning a target on their chest!

There stars, due to a history of corruption, racism and union busting. However it does very greatly by time and place. Generally though they're behaving as they should.

On the whole though they seem better than the Brazilian police who just machine gun fleeing suspects or the Chinese police who weld sick people into their houses and disappear political dissidents.

their as amazing cops and bad cops. overall i would rate them 4. Where i live they are amazing and do their job. crime is low.
