Many of you probably don't know a lot of what goes on behind the scenes at Disney, so if you're interested, read on.
Bob Iger took over Disney as CEO in 2005, when Michael Eisner retired. Iger did a decent job with Disney at the beginning, but soon he started to have political aspirations, and started pandering heavily with the Democrats (the "only" political party for Hollywood as a whole), and he donated a lot of money, held fund raisers, and used his influence to promote the Dem agenda. When the Far Left took control of the party, Iger was right there, and he was expecting to be rewarded with an Ambassadorship - perferably with China, who he believed were the ones to deliver money and power. He started making concessions to China in Disney productions and even made pro-China movies, such as the live-action version of Mulan - which Disney shot in part right next to the concentration camps where China is torturing and killing Yugur Muslims, and even harvesting their organs. Disney literally thanked the organization that runs those camps in the credits of Mulan.
More importantly, though, Iger made it a policy to recruit activist Dems into the company, and to turn Disney "woke." And I don't just mean traditional Disney, but also all of their acquisitions: Pixar, Marvel, and LucasFilm as well. Iger actively protected all of the woke upper management, even as they destroyed franchises and share value with their woke content.
Iger was set to retire at the beginning of 2020, and did - but a week later, COVID-19 hit, and he rescinded his retirement and only retired again at the end of last year. The new CEO, Bob Chapek, has a reputation for being relatively apolitical - he's always been about making money. To be fair, he's got a reputation as a cheapskate, and before he was CEO, he was in charge of running the parks, and took some deserved criticism for cutting services and raising prices, but it should also be kept in mind that the company was losing money, and he definitely felt pressure to turn in good numbers.
Anyway, Chapek very much wants Disney OUT of politics - not so much that he might not agree with some of the positions it currently holds, but because he understands that wokeness is killing revenue and share value. The problem is that Disney is so crammed full of far-left activist types, including in upper management, that Chapek lacks the power and ability to just end Disney's political pushes - getting rid of the activists would leave no one to run the company. Chapek is going to have to take a slower approach, gradually replacing the activists with other qualified people over time. Realizing this, those very same activists are now calling for Chapek to be fired, so they can continue their activism.
No one knows how things will play out, but what's certain is that the woke activists have really hurt the company's reputation and certainly its revenue, and because the company is so big and vast, the harm continues even long after Iger has left. People hate what's going on with the parks (Genie Plus and lightning lanes and 5-hour wait times for rides, plus $20 burgers that taste like elementary school cafeteria food) and they hate what's been done to their favorite franchises, but there are still people who don't know about all these problems, who go on vacation, and have horrible, incredibly expensive experiences. The word spreads slowly among those people, but it WILL spread, and once those folks give up on Disney, getting them back will be VERY difficult.
Extremely negative, I old Walt came back today there would be a blood bath in the boardroom because of the way the company has been taken away from its family centric centrist roots, the way it is in conflict with the majority of its employees, and they way it has also wrecked other studios it has bought, along with the way 'The Woke Agenda' has been injected into everything it produces/touches and the dumps on the fans when what were enjoyable franchises fail because of that 'Woke Agenda'.

Imagine Walt Disney- who urged Annette too never reveal her navel- seeing what has happened to the innocence of our youth and the deplorable choices made by the leadership of the Disney mega-franchise collection: he would be turning over in his urn (he was cremated).
As Uncle Ben, Peter (Spiderman) Parker's uncle, said, "With great power comes great responsibility." Disney execs should listen to Stan Lee's thoughts and live out what they (used to) preach.
But , no, the "master plan" for Disney movies was to simply bang out a bunch of "re-do's" - or should we say "re-wokes" instead of re-works of existing movies. No sequels even - just woking up the relationships, language, and basic thoughts of the movie characters. Change this word to satisfy this bunch of people (of course, you KNOW that bunch will want MORE "offensive" words changed. Change that relationship to one that is totally unnatural, and on and on.
Too bad - I really liked Spidey, too - - - - - -
My opinion has gone negative. Disney was once really cool, but no longer. There movies lately are live action remakes of their old movies, with plenty of wokeness injected in. Disney has bought out just about the entire entertainment industry, which has me wondering why there hasn’t been an anti-trust lawsuit on them. They destroyed Star Wars. Disneyworld is now so big and packed with people that you can’t have much fun there. McDonalds and Starbucks is now operating there.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean ride used to have a pirate chasing a woman around the table. I guess the feminists didn’t like that, so now the pirate is chasing the woman while she’s holding a platter of food. Yeah, right! They don’t have a problem with another woman clobbering a pirate as soon as his head pops up out of a barrel, but he’s a white male, so I guess he deserves it!
I think Walt Disney wouldn’t be very pleased with how his company’s being run.
right on.
When you don't know the dark side of disney it's nice to watch. But when you know their true agenda and the darkness behind it you will never see disney as a nice thing anymore. In fact it's sickening to know what they are doing to children without anybody noticing it. They are programming the subconscious of children which all has to do with a mind-control experiment that started in the second world war by Hitler and still till this day is a active experiment continued by the CIA. My children will be protected from Disney's toxic mindcontrolling of children 🤢
I've boycotted Disney since the marvel purchase. I just don't like this monopoly of this many IP'S under one umbrella.
In terms of recent news, um being more inclusive that has been the business strategy since the earliest 2000's. No one has the common sense to see the writing on the wall from the year 2000?
This has been the disney the beginning of disney. They had a hard lockdown on "disney princesses" all the way up to the 2000. Still strong today but kept building more and more until it was a boring monopoly.
Personally disney sucks dick all the bitch ass parents are complaining about content that even nickelodeon sucks ass too, they try to appeal to the "current generation" but we dont like that shit, the shows and movies are corny and id rather shoot myself in the head then watch them.
For example Encanto was cool or whatever but it wasn't amazing it was low-key boring and the songs were annoying, turning red was ight but it was hella cringey, moral of the story disney needs to get their shit together I don't know how they still are in business with they evil ass. The only good shit is like 2018 and back and the rest is horrible.
Plus they constantly have actors that shit skittles out their mouth when they speak. Why the hell are they so damn excited all the time its kinda disturbing. They need help!
They were dumb to get political, because that means they alienate about 50% of potential customers, then once they went down that road... if they don't and try to stop they upset the 50% that was happy they took a political stand, so they tick off everyone.
They have sold out! Used to be a wholesome place to work and their movies were clean. Now they are a shit hole.
Walt Disney was a very good man.
The Disney company has gotten off the tracks.
I am glad the Reedy Creek Improvement Act has been ended.
People are suggesting Disney move to Georgia. But Georgia was the lefts boogie man last year. Moving would bankrupt them.
Extremely negative. Uncle Walt had once distorted and perverted beautiful traditional ''tales'' and made them a U. S. style spectacle.
The lack of own ''old'' culture must not be an excuse to produce shit like the corny shit he did.
Disney ''today'' - has inherited this cultural guilt and debt.
I think Walt Disney will be pissed when they fins a cure for cancer and thaw him out. The whole company is run by moonbats. They have the old Mickey Mouse Club episodes on the Disney channel. They run a disclaimer saying that people may find it offensive. It is The Mickey Mouse Club for cryin out loud.
Negative- they haven't come out with a good movie in forever, and their movies are getting more politically charged with leftist garbage.
The black little mermaid did it for me, but they're not letting up.
The Disney company is generally positive. Their involvement in recent Florida law, though, is something that their employees apparently forced the company into. Disney should have stuck with its original non-action.
Walt Disney's granddaughter exposed the working conditions and having to live in their cars! They have taken over and then destroyed so many other studios! They are way out of touch with their founder's vision and belief's!
They murdered star wars, that's personal for me. More serious for others and even myself is the push for pedophilia and woke nonsensical lunacy as well as CCP pandering. The folks at Disney are no friends of mine or my kin.
Used to be positive, now neutral, leaning negative. I wish they would stay neutral and leave it at that.
neutral... but they ripped off the Lion King... lol
Hugely negative. They are destroying the movie industry. They already destroyed Star Wars.
What did they do to Star Wars, may I ask?
They turned it to shit.
@Physics-Man I'm going to assume that you've been living under a rock and just don't know what's been going on the last 10 years or so, and haven't seen the sequel trilogy and some of the other stuff.
Kennedy in black, with her team leaders
When George Lucas wanted to retire, Kathleen Kennedy, Steven Spielberg's assistant of 30 years, begged his endorsement for the job, which he foolishly gave. KK vowed to uphold Lucas's vision - though she never had any intention of doing this. KK is a far-left hyper-Feminist and woke activist, and she made it her mission to destroy Star Wars as a "masculine icon" and in particular to destroy its main hero, Luke Skywalker.
In the Lucasfilm offices, she had posters made up with Luke crossed out, and they were all over the office.
You can see one of these posters on the wall of the cubicle during this interview.
A better view of the poster.

Luke was written to be as weak and pathetic as possible - to have given up and be defeated. They depicted him milking the tits of a creature and drinking the green milk - look at the expression on Hamill's face.
Meanwhile, Daisy Ridley's Rey had no weaknesses - she was automatically good at everything - the best. She'd never even been in a functional space ship, yet she's flying the Falcon like a pro. She becomes a Jedi that can defeat Kylo Ren with minimal training and with no struggles or reflections. There's literally nothing she can't do - because she was FEMALE, and females can't be shown to have weaknesses, or that would send the wrong message.
Luke had to work hard, and face many challenges and setbacks, to achieve his skills and position. Rey just was THAT GOOD.
Then let's talk about the 20 or so directors that were hired, and then fired or quit, from Star Wars projects in 7 years. Or that she hired JJ Abrams - the man who can't do endings - who only cared about Star Wars because of merchandising revenues - he admits he never understood the attraction, and even worse, Rian Johnson, who said outright that he wanted to make a Star Wars that most people would hate (mission accomplished!). The entire saga was more-or-less destroyed by the sequel trilogy, which had no respect for existing lore or existing characters - killing off the main characters without ever having a reunion, for example.

"Star Wars: LGBT Strikes Back" - aka The High Republic
And we can't forget the Star Wars Story Group - all Far-Left activists - who were behind a move to ditch all existing Star Wars lore and replace it with a new WOKE Star Wars universe called The High Republic. This new universe would be free from the tyranny of white males, and the heroes would all be women, gays, and transexuals. Because reasons.
The Story Group came up with some absolutely brilliant characters and stories too. One of the new characters was a rock creature (aka a rock) named Geode, who flew a ship creatively named "Vessel." I'd say "you can't make this shit up" but that's exactly what they did.
Luckily, Bob Chapek limited The New Republic to comic books to start with, and those tanked HARD - turns out no one wants to buy this crap. And KK has since been relieved off all authority for Star Wars - that's now under the control of John Favreau and Dave Feloni, though the Story Group is still working to undermine them when it can.
Okay, I'm back! The OTT feminist angle did irk me, but what offended me most was that they didn't hang together as movies. They're more like a loosely Star Wars-related adventure park ride, which is what Disney does now.
Lately negative, they are buying everything and milking their franchises for money even though it ruins these for most of the fans.
Disney is no longer Disney. It was bought out (only the name is the same) by our masters to gain more control over what the Americans believe.
I'm so sick of these billionaires and CEOs trying to use their money to influence politics in this country.
Negative. They're sh*tstains on society and pushing woke propaganda and blackwashing gingers.
Disney has become a Communist indoctrination factory that is staffed by paedophiles.
Burn it to the ground.
I dont think it knows its self. Wen i was young they were into cartoons and fantasy. But now they are going it to more adult stuff..
Very very mixed. I love Disneyland and most of the movies and games but generally dislike them as a mega corporation. It might need broken up someday.
i do applaud it not giving into Ron Desantis bullshit though
My opinion of Disney has become more and more negative over the last decade as it has become more and more woke.
I’ve heard the stories about Walt Disney himself… he’s been a bad man
Given how things have been the last 7-10 years, I can hardly blame you. Disney (across all their brands) has seen the last of my dollars for a long time. One of my friend groups was planning a Disney trip for this year, and after some discussion, we're going to other places instead - and will almost certainly have a better time, and DEFINITELY for less money too!
Positive up until the last around 5 years, getting too political and woke for me.
Disney is a pathetic woke feminist infested parasite that charges to much for garbage.
Negative. The woke destroys everything.
It was positive up until recently years.
I enjoyed it as a kid
You mean groomers? Hate them.
