And how do they do it?
Do you know anyone who is not at all interested in politics?
And how do they do it?
yes, the majority of the people I am close with, family and friends, neighbors, coworkers... etcétera
perhaps it is the region because in fact... before the Biden vs Trump elections in 2020, we did not really have that much political propaganda in this area before, being Texas, people did not care much for elections or politics because people voted Republican yes or yes
however, the latest trends were showing a shift, and the Democratic vote has started to spread across the region, so it was this, what caused for these last elections to be different and a first for me, as I had never seen that much political propaganda going all day, every single day... but, for the most people I know, it doesn't really matter who's sitting at Washington, we still have our own micro-cosmos, inside the Texas state
I know one who will actively avoid any and all things political. I'd consider his values vaguely libertarian but he doesn't take strong stances on really anything other than regulation/discouraging the porn industry (which is a very recent stance for him), and he's definitely the kind of guy who would flee the country rather than fight if we were invaded. Ironic that I met him in the Army of all places.
Truth be told, I don't know "how he does it" and my best guess is that he doesn't believe that government can or will fix whatever problems he has in life, but at the same time won't denounce government either because he has benefitted directly from the GI bill and possibly other government programs.
I'm doing great and I would say nearly everyone I know don't care that much, we know what's up in the world.. like I also do my research here and there but that's about it and I do the most of effort bevor I vote, otherwise I don't care
My flatmate. She doesn't want to hear anything about politics as "it's too cruel, too horrifying and too megative"
She doesn't have a tv, hardly uses the internet and doesn't buy newspapers either.

Actually MOST people I knew in real life, both in the US and South Korea, weren't interested in politics at all and I don't blame them. Why? Because politics are f*cking stupid and the politicians are always trash, anyway. They generally were more optimistic and positive and people like that don't tend to weigh themselves down with the bullsh*t that is modern politics.
If you asked their affiliation, they'd either be loosely center-left or center-right. Like BARELY out of Center, itself. I think most people in the world are in the Center, really. Not fence-sitters either, but just "neither liberal nor conservative." I think liberals and conservatives are a minority. Maybe 25-30% on both sides, while most people are in the 40-50% "who cares" category.
I see only one uniparty in the US, which is not concerned with its tax cattle but needs them fighting each other to preserve its own power. Foreign adventures to keep revenues up in which the poor young people in “both” parties get drafted to die for the wealthy old people inn”both” parties. The issue is not left right red blue it is totalitarian state power vs individual freedom. All politicians in the US benefit from legalized kidnapping, imprisonment/torturing, or murder if the cattle resist or don’t or pay them what we somehow owe them for…reasons. The best part is that some of the cattle self-select to brutally suppress or murder other cattle on behalf of the state, so the political class no longer needs to put on armor and enforce their claims personally as they did centuries ago. Since I am unlikely to be able to change any of this personally, it doesn’t really matter who is holding my chain; one overseer is as good as another.
Yes, children.
The adults I know who claim they aren't interested in politics actually are very interested. What they aren't interested in is dealing with people who don't want to understand them. Sadly, the right has weaponized this, as they do everything (because they are well aware no one votes Republican based on merit), by convincing those who listen to right wing infotainment that no one is listening to them. But then when you ask a right winger what they have to say, it's just "let's go brandon," which isn't really a political opinion so much as trolling for the sake of trolling.
Exactly like that, lol. And then when you point out that that's, at best, spam they cry about their first amendment rights on the internet, as though the internet was the government or something.
The bottom line is, for all the spectacle it makes, all politics really is is voting once a year - twice if you're serious (primaries). But the right discovered long ago that the majority favors centrism, which is antagonistic to their extremist ambitions - the left did too, of course, but liberals have like a tenth of the numbers that conservatives have. So, convincing centrists to stay home by making politics seem like a thing where interests should be a factor in whether or not someone spends the 10 minutes per year it takes to participate has become the most critical strategy to the right maintain their hold on unearned power, whereas figuring out how to earn the vote of centrists has become the main strategy of the left. And so, of course, rubbing in their face situations where the centrists and the left disagree has become a secondary strategy of the right.
Do people like this still cast a vote? They shouldn't because they are uniformed on the issues. I really wish people had to pass a multi choice test, maybe 2-3 pages long to see if they are informed enough to cast a vote. Same people complaining about not wanting to hear about politics are the same people complaining about gas prices and the like. If you aren't involved then don't cry when we have food shortages, your kid gets drafted, you can no longer afford your mortgage, social security goes belly up. Don't complain, your inaction attributes just as much. You have a responsibility to your communities.
The majority of the world outside of the US.
Over here we tend to flip around who we vote for.
locals it may be you vote Labour whereas nationals you may vote conservative.
It’s actually on our travel brief for trips to the US, I know as I have one Friday to some my team who are over there next week, our brief for Colombia is shorter than the US one.
That’s fantastic. What is the brief? PM it if you can this promises to be entertaining, outside perspectives usually are. I’m not mad just curious.
Lost passion for it a long time ago. Doesn’t mean things don’t effect me, I just choose a healthier life than following all the diatribes.
Yes, I do. ME! :)
Seriously, politics is utterly pointless, causes needless hatred and division, and is just absolutely BORING. Why waste one's valuable time and emotional energy on something so ridiculous?
Yes, my husband and I both. I follow news, make up my mind, then vote. I don’t care to take sides or even make it a topic of discussion.
I’m
Because I believe the one who wins the election isn’t the one who we vote for. So, why should I spend my time and energy for that?
We’re ordinary people who should concentrate on our own life and try to make it better.
Getting too involved in politics is a waste of time and mental energy.
I try to get more interested and involved in politics, only to be quickly reminded why I don't get involved in politics. So I go back to not being interested or involved.
Most of the people I know are at least somewhat interested in politics. There are a few, though, who really don't give a shit about politics, even when that affects their lives.
Im not interested in them. Just simply don't pick a side. I rather watch a reality show and bet on who will beat who’s butt in a fight
I dont watch the news so its easy
both sides are one party. however local held elections are important, i personally love abortion. go vote homies.
I'm not interested. I don't want to be stressed so young for politics. I don't even have to vote.
i dont care about politics at all its a waste of time
No I don't
Also the characters you use look like Bobby Hill
Yes, my grandma. She's very uneducated and doesn't even care.
Yes the neighbor kids don’t care Plus all that neighborhood animals don’t care they just want you to feed them LOL
I knew one person on this site, but she deleted account
90% of the people on this site don't care, and that's a huge problem.
@Snsl153
If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. You don't have to go to the political section. I was shocked to read that a 40 year old American man didn't know who Elon Musk was. What?
He's become a major player in politics, and politics effect us all, whether we like that or not.
@Snsl153 You don't have to be a politician to effect politics. Trump is no longer a politician and he's being talked about endlessly in the news.
Elon musk is in the process of buying Twitter. The libs are frantic about this, because Elon's main goal is to bring back free speech. The dems do NOT want that.
Anyway, I understand that politics can be draining, and that's why I take breaks from it.
