In hindsight, "herd immunity" was an incorrect concept when applied to COVID, right?

Herd immunity has worked with some viruses in the past, but Covid is different. That is why herd immunity doesn't apply. According to the CDC, about 60% of Americans have natural antibodies. When you include everyone who has gotten the vaccine, you are way above the 70-75% that should have been required for herd immunity. But herd immunity hasn't been achieved. Therefore, when applied to Covid, herd immunity was an incorrect theory. Is that right?

Yes, you have doing a good job using evidence and rational thought to debunk a theory.

Aren't Ukrainians 36% vaccinated? I must admit I haven't actually done the analysis here. But one may presume that their population didn't fall of a cliff, with any major blips in mortality in the last 2 years. Sweden pursued a strategy of herd immunity and had a better morality rate than ours.

Most covid enthusiasts, most people in general, seem to have claimed to have covid at least 3 times. It appears the natural course of the infection gave a degree of natural immunity, our immune systems work as we expected. Most people didn't die unless they were on the way out anyway, just as we expected. We ruined society, our finances, our everlasting faith in institutions, our liberties, for nothing.

The recent health surveillance studies in the UK suggest that triple vaccinated people are dying or hospitalised at about 2 or 3 times the rest of the population. But actually facts or statistics don't matter so long as it goes against the narrative. The powers that be paint the picture. Anything that isn't part of the narrative is not included on the canvas.

by the way, I'm unvaccinated, and as far as I'm aware, I didn't get it once. I was out mingling with the vaccinated 'superspreaders'.

No it was not. To start with Herd Immunity is based on how infectious the disease is. With a lower infection rate you dont have to have much "resistance" to prevent the infection to spread. Covid19 has a very high infection rate which means you want a very high percent of resistant people, somewhere in the upper 95's would probably be ideal. Having it as low as 70-75 is way too low especially when the effect scales exponentially meaning its only towards the end you start seeing real improvements.

Also herd immunity is not a suggestion that we hoped to be able to do, its an outright requirement for the stable society we used to have. Without it we are lesser than we used to be and it is all our fault for failing to achieve a very achievable goal.

I would personally rather go with herd immunity than a vaccine that's proven itself not into work.

Israeli scientists determined that natural immunity was 26 times more powerful than the vaccine. So why then weren't they offering natural immunity passports along with the vaccine passports? It's because they don't care about covid they care about selling these shots.

If we are out of the pandemic stage I don't believe it's because of herd immunity or the vaccine. I think it's because of the November elections coming up, that's what got us out of this.

That's not true. The immunity didn't come from the shots, because they failed at their purpose of preventing the spread of covid-19. Only natural immunity contributed to our herd immunity numbers. Most of the immunity came as a result of Omicron wave that started in December '21. We're out of the pandemic phase (per Fauci) now because we do have herd immunity.
