How do you (yourself) treat/think of/feel about old people?

My parents have instilled in me the importance of treating everyone, regardless of their age, with respect.

They grew up in a different generation, with a different set of values, traditions and lifestyle, so some disagreement is bound to take place. I don't discuss anything controversial with older people. I have a short temper and I find it hard to keep my cool if someone disrespects me and I get upset when older folks think badly of me and considering their age, I don't want to upset them either. Of course, I'm well aware that I cannot make everyone like me, but I enjoy the company of older people. They have so many stories to tell! I love it, especially their "back in the day" ones. I feel like I'm being transported to the specific year especially the 1960s, or 70s or 80s.

Some are great, while some not so much. I, personally, think some dismiss younger people's opinions just because they're younger and they think all younger folks are stupid? Some can be a little ageist sometimes, lol

I get along with my grandparents well... and I volunteer at a retirement home every two weeks. I like hanging out with them.

I treat them with respect as always, but I will think of them negatively if they disrespect me or anyone else. In general, I don’t have any negative feelings for them. Most older people (65+) obviously grew up in a different generation, with different cultures, different lifestyles, different views, etc… So, 99% of the time, there will be disagreements on many things, but I can still respect them until they disrespect me or others.

I work with some elderly folks. If I didn’t like them, I wouldn’t work with them. I get along well with most of them, and they respect me. I like their company, they have a lot of stories and some wisdom to tell, so its nice to listen and hear their perspectives, as well as them hearing mine.

Sure as hell don’t support euthanasia. “Old People” especially bosses are a wealth of existential knowledge SO THAT young people don’t have make the same mistakes. Definitely, when it comes to dealing with people…

Old people love me they always have. I'm kind to them even the grumpy old men. They will say something nasty and I'll reply with something friendly and they are usually surprised and become friendly. I'm grumpy now at this age I could only imagine how I will feel when I'm older so I be as helpful and useful as I can be

if i pass somebody friendly i smile at. them i dont do much else besides sometimes saying helloif they let me pass them or wait for me to pass or something i obviously say thank you

I'm usely nice to them. There are some old people who are really moody/ craby and I just want to walk way and not deal with them.
