it is and it's still very much alive in the US. Slavery takes on many forms and that's why many people don't see it. Be it a dealer enslaving people via their addiction or the slavery in the sex trade. But many people want to deny both are happening in the US. They rush to point out how it's happening in others countries. Because admitting both would force a change in their world view. A change that they night be able to handle. So they choose denial.

It "officially" doesn't exist anymore in the US, but...
if you're unlucky enough to wind up in prison because you were convicted of a crime (even if you're completely innocent), you can still be used as one.
Regardless of whether or not it's actually the case that black people tend to commit more crimes (percentage-wise, not in absolute numbers), the fact remains they tend to be convicted far more often, and wind up in prison as a result.
Slavery was never abolished. Stop accepting that lie. The Confederacy won the war.

What are you talking about? In prison most prisoners get better treatment than senior citizens that obeyed the law for their entire lives. In prison you get a roof over your head, TV, the range to exercise in, three square meals a day. Don't have to worry about bills, etc. If you are doing work - such as crafts to sell - you get paid. Slaves don't get paid.

Whereas senior citizens get such little from the government they have to eat wet cat food because they can't afford real food between the utilities and rent.

@BlackBeauty90 Yes, and in prison you also get beaten up, locked behind bars, have to follow a strict routine, spend most of your time in your cell, and if you make any enemies there you'll wind up dead. Even look at another prisoner the wrong way, and he (or she) will end up doing something nasty to you.
Maybe I've just seen too many prison films and shows over the years, but you have to admit it can't be fun.

it does, we employ people to clean out the house we pay them to do minimal jobs.
everyone is a slave in a way we go to a job that we may not like just to pay the bills.
we hire immigrants to work jobs that others would not and we treat them as if they are below us too. it has been here all along, in plain sight.

Of course slavery exists. It exists in most if not all countries. That includes, the USA since there is very little a citizen can do that is not taxed, does not require a license, and are otherwise regulated and controlled.
