How often do you change your opinions on your worldview?

Honestly not often but it happens all the time... lol I would say its not so much about me changing my own world view, as it is about the world constantly changing around me.
For example, growing up I was all about gay rights and things about social injustice. But in the 1990's the world was different and the idea to allow people their own freedom without prejudice in regards to sexuality was not crazy to me. But post WOKE we have all these gender issues and reclassification and terms for sexuality and none of that seemed possible to me back in the 1990's... had I known would I have had a different preceptive back then? Probably, but the world changes no matter what you do and I still believe in the same things, but those things have different meaning today, because people are constantly trying redefine their original meaning and portray it as the same thing or some worst then it was in the 1990s... I think we call it cancel culture. Were we cancel out things as they once were then rebrand them and call them something different for different reasons, that honestly they are not and never were meant to be.
When I was young I had to work really hard, and it all seemed that I was working way hard then it should be jus to get ahead. But I sacrificed a lot of things, and embraced the struggle and in my 40's I am very successful. So now days I look at all these young people who want things, and I agree with them because I wish it was all that easy for me. But I sacrificed, and without any freebies. No food stamps, unemployment, health care or free college and etc... So even though I agree with them, how to achieve that with out losing something that has traditionally made America Great... I don't know, but this concept of the not being a welfare state in the Unites States seems bogus to me. But we are constantly seeming to lose these values and principals every day and for what? The richer still get richer and poor are better off then ever before, but things just don't seem to be getting better as a whole... So have I changed or has the world changed.
When I was young I did things my parent though where crazy, and now I see young people doing crazy things I would of never consider sane or possible in my day... but here I am now and who is to say they can't get here as well. We all walk our own paths in life... but I am 45 and I do not even know if I recognize the world I am living at times, by 60 I think I will be lost. Was it me that changed or the world around me?
Thank you. I loved your answer, so thorough. Many things you wrote make sense and it's actually a great explanation for what we've been experiencing these days.
In the last past few years my thoughts have changed quite a bit I've never been into conspiracy type bulshit and for some reason that's where it's all handed I mean if you really pay attention you can actually see what's going on and that is scary because we are headed down the path that we will never ever be able to recover from us as the little people will never have the same rights that we do right now every single day were having them taken away from us they're more in our business and they're making the wrong choices I believe for all of us
I hate say what I'm about to say right now but because I don't like Putin at all
But if you think about what he's doing well first of all he's wrong for killing people the way he is but what he's doing is he saying no to Nato because he knows that he does not want his country or his people to be under the thumb of NATO that's where we are headed it's not going to be America anymore we are headed under supervision of NATO they will come in they will get rid of all of our Police Department people and put their own Police Department in which will basically be nothing more than thugs if we do not comply
We will not have any amendments because now we will be under a new nation of NATO and I think that is wrong Putin says no to this he wants his people more or less to be free in their own way of freedom I guess but to me that's just scary I don't want my kids growing up in a world like that and that's where we are headed one currency 1 NATO and no more Constitution for America
It depends. I don't typically change my beliefs on worldview, but I'm always willing to learn more about what's going on and what's happening around me. I always try to listen to both opposing sides and consider the facts of everything before taking a stand, but I do so with the beliefs I already have and how I was brought up.
Almost every day. I'm more than willing to concede I may be not just wrong, but spectacularly wrong, about an issue, question or whatnot that I had believed was settled. Certainty is a dangerous thing to have.

I've been plugged into some really good sources for quite a few years. I also read books. I've got a pretty solid handle on what's going on. And what's going on is much bigger than what most people think. In fact, most people don't have an inkling.
Look at the massive global banking system, the WEF, the UN, big pharma, the medical establishment, insurance, energy, armaments, mining, food suppliers, shipping, massively influential foundations like Bill and Melinda Gates, Ford, Rothschild and Rockefeller, billionaires, Blackrock, media, governments and government agencies, and so on. They are all tied together. Their leadership is united behind the New World Order/One World Government agenda. They have average people freaking out and arguing about individual issues (the economy, shortages of food and goods, immigration, war, terrorism, covid, climate change, racism, guns, drugs, LGBTQ+, right/left, Democrat/Republican, Nazi/socialist, ...) instead of looking at who is responsible for it ALL; pulling the strings, creating fear and chaos in order to get people to accept the solution to it all - technocratic totalitarianism.
That being said, I realize that I'm far from knowing everything. My opinions are in a constant state of evolution and continue to evolve as I learn more. And I continue to be surprised.
I indeed love the direction you are looking. Tells me you know your way around the system. It mimicks a lot of how the business world works. The main part i am struggeling with though is at what benefit.
They have infinite money so its not about money. There are much safer ways around that. They already have immense power. So what motivates these banking elites that have unlimited resources?
@sawno. I know. It's hard to fathom. I think it's a desire for power, full dominance, control over every resource, including human resources. They see humans as nothing more than bugs or factory farm animals to be used. Those who are not useful as hosts for parasites are eliminated.
The entire corporate model is to maximize profits and to continually grow. So the agenda I described fits that model.
Whenever neccesary, usually its an expansion rather than completely new views as more gets uncovered on how it all works. But in other events like my views on russia and ukraine with me being certain russia would not invade my views fell short. So that one i have learned to look further than the has nothing to gain point. And more into deeper reasons why and attempts to decide the outcome of the conflict prior to it beginning. So on that front i changed from the has nothing to gain mindset to the, how likely is it he would win and have attempts been made on this front mindset.
The world is a cruel place, was a cruel place and will always be a cruel place. The only ray of hope is your partner wife, or your parents, or someone really close to you.
No one listens to you, you need to make yourself heard. Also the world does not stop for anyone, if you want, you need to make it stop by yourself.
The world is also stupid. If you can, you can make even the most veteran players fool of themselves and get what you want. You can pull a con, if you are skillful enough.
These are what my perspectives on the world. I have not changed them since I formed them in my school years.
You being in the education sector, what changes would you like me to make in them?
it has happened before... but not often
and it is not exactly about changing my opinions but more about adjusting my perceptions of world views, so it is a more subtle way of change... because pretty much everything and everyone does evolve
just very few things are "set in stone"
also, in general... I tend to be more open minded and to see my perspective as well as consider the perspectives of others who have it differently, and this results on me not having such a rigid or strict rule of "just my opinion my view and perspective, no other"
Many of my opinions change regularly. Usually when I get a hold on peer-reviewed studies or broadly supported statistics.
Other times as I hear people out on their logic or perspectives I might feel the urge to re-evaluate my view by taking a closer look or letting it sink in. Maybe take up the discussion with one of my peers to get second opinion.
Depends on what you mean by "worldview". My view of the physical universe changes rarely, because my worldview is scientific and it all fits together. But I have changed my views of politics , economics, and the human condition quite a lot as I have matured. I'm much more understanding and forgiving than I was 20 years ago, and have changed my political views from libertarian to social democratic.
I try not to have a "worldview" anymore. I am not obligated to operate under the pretense of "understanding" the universe, or to form an opinion about every damn thing under the sun.
Westerners could do to become less ideological, and just focus on what they can create and improve in their lives.
My opinions change on world views depending on my education of the subject. Right now, my world view is that everyone in the world has drank the kool-aid. I want no part of the world and I want the world to stay the hell away from me. That is what my education of the world as of today has taught me. ;)
They never change cos I'm very intelligent and see the true reality of how things really are.. unlike a lot of people who think with their emotions.. I only think with my brains... So I think logically about stuff... There's only one time I changed my mind about something cos I was wrong about it
Lol
Elaborate.
Sometimes but not in a radical way.
I rather change slightly in some aspects or acknowledge other opinions and"de-radicalize".
every time that conflicting evidence necessitates that. which happens regularly. at least once a year, i'd say. on very minor things, it happens way more often.
I can be convinced that what I once believed is bullshit. When I was young, I believed in a guaranteed annual income. Who pays me?
Often because I get new evidence of things that aren’t right or new proof of things and it has to shape into my belief of what I think is right or wrong or in between. So it’s fluid.
I don't really know
I don't pay attention to my world view
I’ve been pretty consistent for the last six years. I’m open to new ideas, but I haven’t been convinced by anything else yet
Not often. I use to be very blue pilled when i was younger as i think all men start off this way but over the years have become red pilled and see the world differently
No. I'm willing to change if something is proven true or better way of doing things but I'm generally solid in my world views.
Well normally i think long about a topic/the world and take a point of view for the rest of my life.
When i have enough information i can change my opinion, but i try not to change only for emotional reasons.
never i believe in freedom of speech and freedom of speech means i am always right
As many times as I like. That’s learning.
Never , cuz I am flawless
Every 20 years or so.
As often as the facts prove to me that I should.
Not too often but it's happened a few times
Never. because I know the true state of the world
Not sure I have an actual world view.
Not quite often tho I do
Great question. I'd like to know.
Not much
Very infrequently.
not much.
Hardly ever
