Is hiding your own disability immoral?

It's one of the things I often wonder about.
As some of you know, I often need the aid of crutches or a walking cane to be ambulatory. However, I also make sure to hide those problems when in public, for example by sitting down often or leaning against certain items.
No photography of me using such appliances exists, and when it happened that someone snapped a "wrong picture" I demanded their phone and deleted it. I think I could sue someone for taking a picture of me with crutches.
I don't want for those things to be seen, although many people inevitably know - and something I find myself thinking, is that perhaps I should be more open about those things as to encourage others and share. But then I inevitably think I would be seen as a weak leader if such a thing was public knowledge, and so I refrain from doing so.

No. Having had worked with the disabled (trained service dogs for the disabled since the 90’s) for many it is survival. Everyone tries to be honest at some points but often times that life experience isn’t pleasant. People still feel the need to hide their flaws in this day and age.

I do feel like it’s wrong to hide that from a spouse. Before marriage, it’s important to let them know that information so they fully know what they are getting into and what to expect during the marriage.

It would be wrong for someone to present themselves as completely able-bodied to their partner until after the wedding and then the person finds out after they are bound for life.

Other than that situation, I don’t feel like it’s anyone’s business.

This depends on the situation. On a first or first few dates then really that is personal business but later on down the road... Yea your SO is going to find out about it

No, FDR did it and I publicly don't let it be known to people about my issues (my close friends, my exes and family know)

It's not immoral. Everyone has something, some can be seen on the outside and others cannot. We all have something.
