They feel like 'impostors in their able bodies'.

Scientists have found they're not much different to transgender people mentally who relatively get a lot of support worldwide.

Do you reckon people who identify as "transabled" should be allowed to go ahead and amputate their limbs and make themselves blind?

People who manifest tendencies of self-harm should rather be left at the supervision and custody of a mental facility and mental health practitioners instead of proceeding to make decisions to the detriment of their health. Intending to harm one's self, particularly the physiological self, seems to be related to body integrity dysmorphia.

The funding for the surgery, suppose the "transabled" person decides to induce a disability by choice, should not be sourced from either subsidies or financial aid from the government.

Suppose a surgeon happens to agree in administering an 'induced' amputation, he/she should be dealt by the legal authority that has vested him/her the license to practice surgery, as medical treatments ought for recovery and not for destruction.

The 'transabled' people should not be eligible for preferential attention and special treatment in the use of facilities meant for people who have been disabled due to unintentional causes such as natural disasters and untoward incidents. This includes the use of the elevators, discounts for certain commodities such as medication, and becoming the priority people in long queues.

Im not a fan of bodily mutilation as treatment for body dysmorphia as I dont think it addresses the root medical problems causing the disorder. I think other options and various forms of therapy are a better ling term option.

I try not to blame the individuals though, its not their fault they have body dysmorphia. Im no psychologist but my impression was it was caused by trauma in most cases. People react weird to trauma they can't understand/process.

Self harm should never be endorsed. And surgeons who agree to do this should be fined or have their license suspended.

These people clearly are not right in the head. There is no arguing that, if you do I suggest getting your head examined.

Also, how is this not offensive to disabled people?
