Political agendas through out history have piggybacked on tragedy. Much of which was staged to create the opportunity. I was going to list a few then I deleted that list because people will just debate those instead of focusing on your question.
Because of so much historical evidence of this its probably why some feel this tragedy was also staged.
While it is emotional and horrific, answers don't come to us in that state of mind. Asking questions, listening to different views and experiences and reasoning is how we find answers that work.

It's a pattern, if you don't embrace women being superior to men, you must be a misogynist, to not support black lives matter makes you a racist, to point out that these shootings only happen in gun free zones means you support the killing of more innocent children because the cause is obviously inanimate objects.
Not, you know, shitty people going for soft targets.
@goaded Look at murder rates rising with the perpetrator being 16 or 17 years old, the kids are armed. No one is getting far trying to go for a shooting in a poor school in a major city. Forget about the teachers carrying guns, you'd have about 12-15 students tossing heaters after.
Not every hero wears a cape...
@goaded Probably because guns got cheaper and cars got more expensive... If you really want to drive down gun ownership, just don't talk about guns at all for a decade or so and drive up some taxes in the background on nitric acid. Guns are blocks of metal without bullets.
The demand for AR type weapons has driven their price down ridiculously, they were expensive when I was younger, now you can get them cheaper than most quality pistols out there, which makes zero sense. Meanwhile ammo has skyrocketed in price since sanctions on Russia, since theirs is much cheaper in bulk.
Anyway, I've been to countries with gun control, and it's just more expensive to buy a gun on the street. In countries with ammo control, like you can't buy it, and then only in limited amounts with a registered weapon, you can buy guns on the street, but bullets are stupid expensive. You can locally produce guns for resale and make a profit. Mass production of ammunition requires much much more, with a lower profit margin, and more that can go wrong. You could blow up, be poisoned by lead, the chemicals you need for primers, all kinds of fun.
@goaded Sigh, now that's just naive as all hell, guns are an excellent direct engagement weapon. They're actually pretty crappy for taking out area targets though. It's better for the people who break to go for guns first as the damage actually isn't that bad. Compare those to Oklahoma city which only utilized one van, fertilizer and diesel. I'd say the sarin attacks in Japan, but that was luck as well as they chose a poor chemical agent, and couldn't produce it well, also it was rushed for them anticipating a police raid for, you know, trying to make biological weapons as well as chemical ones.
1. How do you make a primary school a "hard target"?
2. Tell that to the Las Vegas killer.
I knew decades ago that trucks driven the wrong way down a motorway would be a potential terrorist move. It doesn't take that much imagination. What the US is doing is saying you can't possibly consider a truck driver (gun owner, pilot) as a possible terrorist. That's just stupid.
Actually, you're probably more interested in truck driivers than gun owners.
Because guns were used I guess to kill a bunch of kids again. Stuff like this is the reason they are campaigning against guns.
Abortions have killed more kids than every mass shooting combined
I dont disagree. The big killer in America though is obesity.
No the big killer anywhere is despair
Nope obesity doesn't care if your happy...
Well most obese people have some type of mental illness (depression) and despair breeds these negative feelings that causes people to hurt each other and themselves so many of the worlds problems would be solved if everyone thought about the next person
The first step towards a new human. Like an acorn is the first step towards an oak tree.
Stepping on an acorn is not the same as felling a tree, or even a sapling.
If a pregnancy gets to the point of the fetus having fingers and toes and kicking, absent a horrific law, it's a wanted, desired, new life. Abortions after that point are a terrible decision for the woman, and only taken after a great deal of thought. It's still not a child.
Do you remember being born? You probably don't even remember being potty trained! To compare an unborn fetus to children with experiences, the ability to phone 911 and beg for their life, is just disgusting. Shame on you.

Because far left wingers are disgusting individuals who like to use tragedies to promote their agenda, which is disrespectful towards the mourners.
Exactly
Because it is a problem. This happens literally almost 4 times a week now. I’m not anti guns, but I am for making it harder to obtain them (via background checks, mental evaluations, etc…) to make sure someone is fit to carry a gun. The solutions to these problems isn’t to put more guns into people’s hands. Because it takes a split second to make a bad decision. Dude that shot those little children in the elementary got his gun legally. And that’s been a theme, a lot of not more than half have been kids getting these guns legally. Or there parents giving them guns or whatever. It’s not like they are stealing them. And that’s a big issue
Because it should be a legitimate question why there is a such gun problem with so many shootings nearly every in the US and why it seems like something like this happens so often only in the US.
Besides all that the shooter had it extremely easy to get his weapons.
It's less about politicing but arguing that this was preventable especially since there could be more "lone wol" shooters in the future. After the shooting in St Fe in 2018 schools had put up more security technique but they still couldn't prevent the last shooting.
Like what's going to stop something like this?
its not really new , has been mass shootings before in other parts of the world that lead to new guns laws , in Canada there still pushing a shooting that occured in the late 1980's ( not joking it happened in Montreal and still used by anti gun people there as a reason for new laws )
They could pass a MILLION laws but the thugs will STILL FIND A WAY to get a gun.
Politicians stay in politics by creating the illusion that they have actually done something useful (other then get paid for no discernible results), so that when they run for re-election, they can claim they want to "finish what we started". It's all Bravo Sierra to anyone with a functional brain.
With 19 children Dead and two Teachers trying to protect their children, What do You Think that every unstable teenager should be able to purchase an Assault Weapon? Let alone let dozens of Police essentially allow the slaughter to continue because they are Cowards?
Why wouldn't they? It's gun crime and they're anti gun crime. There's your answer.
Duh, because when people are upset is the best time to exploit to get people to make a knee-jerk decision that they wouldn't rationally make otherwise. Fear tactics works best when people are under stress.
Emauel Rahm once said that he woud never let a good tragedy go to waste.
Just stupid Democrat voters who think that it's the guns that kill people but rather it's people that kill people.
Because people without means of defending themselves are far easier to control.
Democrats always do , never let a crisis go to waste
Because this is what the leftist do. Rahm Emanuel said "never let a tragedy go to waste".
To paraphrase Cuck Schumer, 'They don't want your prayers, they want your rights.'
Right place right time perfect scenario
Eh, because it’s an issue that they think has a solution that can be attained by political steps?
But the issue isn’t the issue
Clearly depends on your political views
So say the people who are politicising pregnancy.
They're weak & cowards attack at a distance.
