For the same reason the Democrats do- for all those tears about poor treatment of illegal immigrants on the border, I've yet to see Democrat-controlled Congress (the one and only group that CAN) fix the stupid policies that created the situation in the fyrst place. Gitmo's also still open and still holding detainees illegally, based on a "war" against a theorotical concept. And cemember how when Obama took office, he was coing to tear down tde PATRIOT Act and dismantle the bureaucracy that wasmspying on our own- oh, wait, he doubled its size, tripled its funding, and claimed Snowden was just "pissed about not getting a promotion".

The Republican party members of today care mostly about the Republican party- but theyre far less hypocritical than modern-day Democrats, at least in that regard.

Not everyone agrees about what should be done or how to get there. That's the way it works and the way it will always work.

As for gouging oil companies, how are they gouging? You do realize that there is not really much money in oil considering what they have invested in it, right? You know that gas stations don't care much about selling gas? They want you to go inside and buy a fountain drink. If a company really wants to make a lot of profit selling brown liquid, they'd sell Coke or Pepsi, not oil.

You haven’t done your research have you? Biden made enemies with Saudi Arabia and OPEC. He passed all sorts of crushing regulations on domestic drilling. He killed the keystone XL pipeline. ALL of this pushed up oil and fuel prices.

Yes the so called “Putin price hike” was part of the problem but Biden keeps using that as a cop out when it was his own asinine administration that caused a huge surge in prices.

When will democrats finally admit that as much as you hated Trump his policy (NOT personality) had America in much better shape the what the senile calamity Biden has done? For four years all we heard was constant “f*ck Trump supporters” yet we never heard the phrase “Biden supporters”. Now why is that?

I work for an oil company. There are record high cashflow. There are also record high costs as everything costs more than it did 3 years ago. We also lost billions when all the projects got cancelled by Biden on his first day in office. Years of plans and thousands of people lost their jobs. Continued oil and gas exploration and consistent development keeps the costs down. When your first administrative order in office is to slash future supplies, your costs are going to skyrocket. It’s A + B = C

Because it's not price gouging that gas is so expensive. It's because of the climate change regulations Biden placed on the oil industry, then Russia came along and made it worse. That's not to say that price gouging isn't involved but there is a reason gas prices sharply rose as soon as Biden stepped in.

The bill is proposing a government solution to an issue that the government has played a major role in causing in the first place. If the bill proposed that the government retract those policies then I'm sure the republicans would be all for it.
