I was 18 when I bought my first rifle (black powder 50 cal). your either an adult or not An adult. Owning a gun is part of being an adult. Making a decision to smoke a cigarette or drink a beer or a join really isn’t as great as a decision for you compared to Voting joining the military gender transition. Going to jail for life without the ability to make those decisions is stupid. Why not move the age of consent to have sex to 21 as well, these are way way way (1 billion years later) owning a gun smoking a cigarette or having a beer owning a gun is far less if we’re over the decision to make and then voting being able to drafted into the military Or even making a permanent changes to your body that affect you for the rest of your life. This is why I asked question why not just move adulthood to 21? If we’re going to take up these kinds of policies

I think it's a good start, I will admit "mental health" records worries, me unless it's like records that proves some is a danger to themselves or others, I fear that just records that show couseling for depressin or anxiety, could stop some people from getting the help they need if they think they'll never be able to buy even a handgun for protection. It doesn't matter what any of us think about that, people will do what they think is in their best interest, whether it is or not, if that makes sense.

Money for mentally ill , great, but where is money coming from? Military? On the verge of world war 3 , that is a bad idea. I am for it if they eliminate Dept of Education and use that money. Other wise it probably comes from money printing meaning more inflation. Do we add more funds for mentally crazy and pay more for groceries and rent , and gas?

Do restraining orders stop bullets? No, will a boyfriend not be able to buy a gun on the street? Yep. That will do nothing. Would keeping them in Jail? Yep. We need longer sentences in jail.

I guess it's a decent start, but this bill doesn't really address the problem we need it to address. I don't have a good alternative, but making weapons harder to get and putting people into a national gun registry isn't going to prevent psychos from killing people.

These shooters tend to obtain their weapons legally, passing background checks, and then taking their weapons to gun free zones to cause chaos.
