Do you think the media is forcing people to like the taliban and Ukraine now?

Not the Taliban. Ukraine is one of our allies and America has had a steady influx of hard working immigrants, including soldiers, come from the Ukraine for decades. My own great grandfather tried joining the American troops during WWII, but wasn't allowed so he joined the Polish Army and made it up to the rank of Captain. He then immigrated to Canada, and again to America. Me being a decendent of him, I joined the United States Army as an Infantryman to go fight during the Iraq war. I served 2 combat tours in Baghdad and Baquba in 2003 and 2005. Ukraine is woven into our American heritage for decades. If they get into a scuffle, or are the verge of being obliterated it's a travesty for the American people.

Now as far st the Taliban are concerned they were our enemy for over a decade, but President Trump and majority of republicans wanted to open peace talks with them in Afghanistan to work out a peace agreement, basically admitting defeat in a quiet manner. That had absolutely nothing to do with the media at all. That was our own government giving up on their original mission, and now, since we aren't fighting with them outright anymore, the media has to show how things are different essentially, because that's how things are supposed to be.

So the media isn't "trying" to shove anything down our throats, or change our minds about anything. These are the things our government have done, so the media reports on it as the times change. Again, Ukrainians have been a HUGE part of American society for decades. They have contributed a lot to our economy, work forces, and our military strength, without asking for a single thing. The issue with the Taliban though was instigated by the American government, not the media. Take care!!

The Taliban are not even really in the news and not connected to any news about Ukraine.

There is no forcing by the media to like Ukraine, you don’t have to like them, however people should readily see the terror inflicted on its civilian population.

Also the question seems a bit late, with its NOW bit.

it’s been going on since 2014, with current element of the war going on from February 2022.

Aid of various types has been going to Ukraine since before 2014, it also ramped up before the February 2022 bit.

No one is forcing you to like Ukraine. I have a direct line to some Ukrainian citizens and they will tell you exactly where you ca put your pity.

It is funny how you guys whine about the media when all you have to do to know what Ukrainians are going through is to contact a group on instagram or Facebook.

Ya lol. I’m Ukrainian and follow the different Ukrainian news and like President zelensky and we don’t really need pity from anyone we just need ammo but we’ve stayed in it for 110 days or so

A fact so simple like Russia invading Ukraine and violating its sovereignty is a huge controversy. Because in our society, there are only political realities. Everything is politicized. If you see a Russian soldiers killing Ukrainian citizens on CNN, it becomes a political conspiracy where liberals are trying to trick American people. It isn't just a basic fact that everyone should be able to understand.

That's just where our society is right now. And believe me Putin has his hands directly on the dial. It is so hard for my friends to understand this. Because they just think facts are facts and news is news.

Not so in American society. Not anymore.

And Putin and our enemies are making sure they take full advantage of it.
