Seriously: Is there anything in the male experience/condition that equates (or at least approximates) pregnancy?

Roe v. Wade has been stricken down by SCOTUS. Womens social status has been returned to what it was before 1972. Essentially, a branded brood mare.

By what right is this decision placed on an individual? Each and every one of us is, and rightly should be, free to act upon the dictates of our own conscience. Certainly, each and every one of us is, and rightly should be, held accountable for our own actions as they affect others around us. If we say something offensive, we are expected to apologize. If we harm someone physically, we are handed over to the law for punishment.

In the case of pregnancy, however, there is no simple answer. The child depends on the mother, and the mother cannot act without that action having an effect on the child. The mother is an individual who must be respected as such... and so it is with the unborn child.

What situation in the male experience/condition provides them with the perspective to rule one way or another in this matter, other than to accept that the decision is, and must always be, that of the individual mother?

Time was, men were expected to bear the risks of death on the battlefield, and women were expected to bear the risks of death in childbirth. In nearly every country, in nearly every culture, men were expected to march off to kill and die at the whims of despots. Women, too, could be forced into pregnancy, but laws always punished rape, and usually quite harshly. No law, ANYWHERE, that I'm aware of, gave respite to those forced into battle slavery.

But I'm going to let that slide, for the moment, and ask why on Earth you'd think that a lack of experience of pregnancy means that men must rule that abortion rights "must always be, that of the individual mother". Men don't go through pregnancy; that's true. They DO go through childbirth. They ARE expected to defend those who can't defend themselves. Women aren't helpless, incapable creatures utterly unable to defend themselves; infants are. Why would the default attitudes of the protector class be to ignore those most in need of protection?

Men should be able to let go of this. I do not like abortion, but I will never have to get one. No man will ever have to make the decision, "should I have an abortion?"

Is there anything that men experience that is similar to pregnancy? That women do not—and cannot—ever experience really, and that produces such stigma and (most of all) robs him of his individual power and right to determine his own course?

I could very well be arguing in favor of another person's right to self-determine, or for my own, or yours. So, to paraphrase the bald little monk, "there is no side." This issue is equally important to any sentient, self-determinate being.
