So a man's health can also affects our pregnancy?

While we're in our 20's (I'm 26), that's the best years to obviously have a child. We have to take care of ourselves too. That's one part. Does the father have to be fit and healthy too?

My friend had a hard time getting impregnated by her fiance. She's 25, fertile and healthy. However, the guy had a lower sperm count. He had high cholesterol, prediabetes and somewhat overweight. He worked on both his diet and started exercise. Ironically as soon as he improved in his health and got fit, both his sperm count and quality improved signficantly. They were able to finally conceive.

So it's not just about the woman being fertile and fit but the guy has to be healthy too? Really, are sperm susceptible to changes in the environment and bad eating habits?
