I still don't really understand it. From the story I heard, I'm Actually really surprised that Republicans are jumping for joy over this.
I feel like the same amount of logical gymnastics it took to overturn the ruling is the same kind the left uses to try to strengthen gun control.
But at the same time, my understanding of what's actually going on is all that's really happening is that it's been decided that it's up to the state to decide what to do about abortions until laws are created.
If you don't like it, lobby for it. The left needs to stop acting like they didn't cause this whole situation. NOBODY was talking about abortions until they started pushing for later and later term abortions.
They have no concept of "there's billions of people in this world, we need to share it and find common ground on things"
It blows my mind how this country has 50 states to go fuck off too but some cunt in Portland has to care so much about what's going on in Texas. Nobody is forced to stay where they are. There's no passports required to leave the state. The hardest part is waiting in line at the Dmv for a new license.
I hate politics so much

I think America's f*cked and this is just one of the first of many Constitutional rights about to be erode. Just wait till 2025 after Biden/Kamala gets "re-elected," to see your Second Amendment rights go bye-bye too, all while the Liberals gloat and act all smug about it this time, just like the Conservatives are doing right now. I bet you marijuana and alcohol will be next to be restricted before 2030, cause WHY NOT bring back prohibition, too? Hundred year anniversary.
If people were smart, they wouldn't be celebrating a bad precedent just because it's something they agree with this one time. But you know... People are f*cking idiots. Today, it's "I agree with this horrible decision," tomorrow it's "Why do they keep making these equally horrible decisions and governmental restrictions on the things I don't agree with." You know, cause that's how it actually works? Oppression doesn't happen all at once. It's a tug-of-war until both sides have yanked each other off a cliff and the only winners are your government oppressors.
I think men who want to ban abortions should have mandatory circumcisions.

They did not overturn a constitutionally guaranteed right of abortion. They said that a constitutionally guaranteed right to abortion never existed.
I agree. I have a friend that's spazzing out about it... but I don't get it. So it goes to the states... I'm in Washington and it's just going to be just as legal as ever. He's in Texas so yeah... it will get put in check, but he's a fucking dude... and doesn't strike me as the type of dude that knocks chicks up all the time and they'll need to be talked into abortion. They still have access to their abortions, just not that kill them after they're born type stuff... I just don't get it. If you don't want a kid, just abort it hella early... don't wait 8 months to do it. There's birth control or just not taking creampies all the time... I don't get what's so hard about that reasoning.
I feel like this was like the straw that broke the camel back. I thought America could change and we could see change, but after seeing such an important case roll back, I don’t know. I mean abortion will still be allowed in some states, but so many people who are stuck in situation in other states might have to resort to more dangerous method.
I don’t know what could even be done at this point. Any sort of bill will never make it (let alone any amendment) and the supreme court is playing politics.American culture is on decline. The reaction of the public shows the culture has been destroyed. Instead of advertising more responsible behavior, everyone goes out there and behaves like monkeys. Also, the most popular music glorifying irresponsible behavior like drinking, doing drugs, irresponsible use of handguns, etc just adds further to the problem. What happened to western culture?
I'm very pro-choice and I live in a state with a trigger ban, so I'm doubly upset about it, but regardless of your view on abortion, the legal precedents set by row are the basis of so many other rights we enjoy. This is a very troubling time for our freedom and liberty in America.
SCOTUS ruled that there is nothing specifically defined in the US Constitution, including the 14th Amendment, that gives the federal government the power to define abortion as a legal right, and the ruling returned that power to each of the individual states, where it should be, and where it was for almost 200 years before Roe v Wade. It's the correct legal ruling. Now, we'll see what effects it has on society.
all the ruling did was overturn it at the federal level which means it's know up to each state to decide how to handle the matter. so many deep blue states will likely go pro-abortion with no restrictions. many deep red states will likely go pro-life with heavy restrictions. while the rest of the states will likely go pro-choice with limited restrictions.
Mostly agree. If the ruling was founded erroneously then it shouldn't be a thing.
However, though I think abortion is a bad thing I don't think making it illegal will solve anything for the same reason banning guns, drugs and alcohol won't work.
To be clear removing RVW technically doesn't do that, it just allows the states to decide.Agree with it. You have to be a evil monster especially a woman to kill her own defenseless baby boy or girl in the womb.
Even animals by instinct will do anything to protect their own little offsprings at all cost from danger, and we have some women volunteerly killing their own flesh and blood in the womb, hiding behind lame excuses to do so.The overturn of Roe vs Wade DOES NOT ban abortions. That is a liberal lie.
It returns the decision to the state government rather than it being federal. Abortion is not protected by the Constitution, therefore the decision by the judges back 50 years ago was wrong. Until it is passed into law by Congress and the POTUS, it cannot be protected on a federal level.I don’t care Cause I’m a dude and can’t Get pregnant because It’s genetically and Biological Impossible for me a Dude to get pregnant. They can do what they want im from the philosophy of if it doesn’t Affect me then I don’t care.
It's WAY past time that this terrible 1973 decision was over-turned.
I just hope that the ensuing violence that occurs because of this wonderful decision will be MINIMALThey will leave things up to the States of America to decide with the Governors of each State.
I'm generally pro-choice, but I agree that Roe was judicial overreach and it's right to strike it down. Abortion rules need to be sorted out through the legislative process.
Glorious. The moral decay of America has been dealt a blow. Hopefully this compells more women to treat their sexual health and the sanctity of life in a more responsible manner.
Bitches getting mad like they out here getting dicked down when they haven't had dick since the day they came out their daddy's peepee hole
I don't have a dog in this fight but it's impossible to defend on either a moral or legal basis.
it's funny to see women mad. Serves them right
2024 gonna be a great yearIt is not the supreme courts decision to make it a law. What do you think about our US senators and congressmen making it law.
