Ehh, not by stats. We’re pretty constantly progresing in basic education. But if you factor in how much data is at our fingertips, an argument could be made that we’re dumber than we should be.

I think anti-intellectualism is peaking again. A la Trump. “I love the poorly educated.” Hating liberal college grads is old fodder but growing more popular.

No. If we're just talking about education we're more educated as a nation then we've ever been. If it seems that it's lagging it's probably because overall the education probably isn't still keeping up with the rest of the civilized world.

To be fair the world knows a lot more these days, there 30years more history, discoveries and inventions. Everything is much easier to look up so easier to prove what you don't know or disprove something you think you know

I wouldn't say dumber. I just think they never learned the basic things in life or how to think for themselves. Critical thinking isn't taught anymore. Thinking outside the box stresses people out.

I don't know that they're dumber in terms of raw IQ, but I'm seeing the spread of what psychologists call "learned helplessness". This probably arises from an increasingly restrictive society and what libertarians call the "nanny state".
