Most are, but there's an amazing amount who are very clever and very smart.

Honestly, the upper middle class white male is the most simple minded, I've found. Most others are very intelligent, but those ones tend to be the most simple. Even if they travel, they tend to just default back to "muh Americuh", at least that's been my experience when I dated one.

Simple-minded is the wrong word; hyperbolic is better. Americans wildly over and under estimate how our policies compare with the rest of the world, but a lot of that is because we also don't know what the rest of the world is actually like. A lot of our social perspectives are founded on this really stupid belief that Russeau came up with that before colonialism, the world was led by "the nobel savage" who was far less barbaric than the colonizer who conquered him.

For example, if you don't know what abortion rights are like in Europe, you might think that America hates women because of the Roe ruling. Well... not exactly. Americans think that every other country just has open borders that people can walk through and immigrate freely; reality is not so, my Budlight chugging friends.

Traveling to another country is more challenging (and expensive) for the average American because his or her country is so vast and not many countries are within a few hundred mile radius, unlike Europe and Asia. It's easier to visit lots of countries when you live in Germany versus Missouri.
