Do you feel like the adage "America is prudish" is false?

I feel like America isn't prudish. I am from New Zealand and New Zealanders are much more prudish than Americans. At least in terms of PDA.

I have traveled from California, to New Mexico to Ohio to San Francisco to Florida to New York to Texas over LONG periods of time, and nowhere in America has the culture been even slightly prudish.

And talking openly about intimacy is more strange in New Zealand than it is in USA.

I feel like, when people say 'America is prudish' they are just making a false claim.
