That's how normal distributions of populations work. most individuals in a population (68.26%) will fall within one standard deviation of the mean. When it comes to IQ, that mean is an IQ of 100 with a 15 point standard deviation. Thus, majority of people will have an IQ between 85 and 115 making them of average intelligence. Generally the standards are that people between 116 - 130 are considered of above average intelligence (13.59%) and people between 70 and 84 are mildly retarded (13.59%). As you step further out in standard deviations, people with an IQ of 131 to 145 (2.14%) are considered exception gifted, with genius level IQ exceeding 145 (0.3%) and IQ falling under 70 representing different degrees of mental retardation (mentally handicapped).

Only 10% of the population can be said to be above average. 2% border on genius and only 1% can say they are.
If you look at bell shaped curve you have the 10% on the waay to the majority so I say almost everyone is the same after the 10%.
However, the brain might be genious in one segment and not in another. Probably true for most people

I would agree with that, yes. The truly dumb people are in Hollywood and the corporate workplace. The truly smart people are restaurant workers, people who learned about credit and how to use money, and ones who become successful by doing things most people don't really think about.
