Disclaimer: I’m not saying I’m an absolute expert in this matter, nor am I saying that just because you are of a certain race you are more or less likely to commit certain crimes.

I’m saying, there has been a lot of work done within this field by actual professional academics, relating race and criminality.

Now, many texts talk about different factors regarding these links and how they all impact one another when combined.

Rather than look at the facts and texts, they will automatically dismiss this link.

Why?

My background: I have an bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. I’ve studied, written papers on, and taken classes on a variety of topics in the criminal justice/criminology field. One of these topics, involved race and crime and the multiplicity of other factors sometimes involved and sometimes not.

Why do you think some people are so hostile, in denial, or automatically dismissive over links regarding race and crime?

The people that dismiss the statistics are often racists that hate White people. They get upset that the statistics show that Whites commit much less crime and that Black people commit 54% of violent crime.
White people are the majority of serial killers, and those people have no problem pointing that out.
Pretty much anything that doesn't make White people look bad, democrats will not like and will ignore statistical facts.

I have a degree in criminal justice too and had to do research reports in order to graduate years ago.

The same goes for education performance. Often people LIE and claim that Black people perform worse than Whites due to low funding when in reality, the majority Black schools often have MORE funding that schools that are more evenly mixed. They get priority funding. And when you point out the performance where the different races are in the same neighborhood, the same school, the same exact teacher, etc. they just ignore it.

If White people looked bad they would accept it and parade it around constantly, but when Whites don't look bad the democrats hate it.

My bias as a conservative is fairly well known and I will readily admit to bias.

I observe that the left teaches young people to recite their beliefs like mantras and to not engage in factual analyses ; if their beliefs are challenged, they deny, and then they attack the character of whoever is trying to engage them in conversation, making accusations of racism, bigotry, and low IQ. Young people are often in search of an identity and are willing to be a mindless but obedient sheep to feel that they belong to a group, and the group identity of young people who are leftists is strongly reinforced. So young peple are merely doing what they have been taught to do.

If someone wants to suggests that young conservatives do the same thing, I will listen to their arguments.

I basically shake my head at the ignorance of people who point to statistics ALONE as a reason X+Y=Z. Years ago, the same sorts of statistical graphs and charts used to be held up to point to black vs white and say white people are more intelligent than blacks. But look at who created and hosted those studies and who the beneficiaries of, of such rhetoric and the complete lack of exploration into the disparities between the statistical data. It doesn't even have to be about race. There are plenty of political polls that ask Americans what they feel about this or that policy and these get blasted up across all media, but then you ask yourself, who exactly is at home at 1pm in the afternoon on a Tuesday that can answer these things? I've had the benefit of working on both sides of the tracks as it were, and seeing first hand why things are the way they are and how X+Y rarely IRL equals Z in the dismissive way people want it to to "try and make a point," rather than actually deal with the why and how.

It depends on how the idea is presented, and the context. There are some trends that link race to crime in certain areas, but many of us don't buy into the idea that broad generalizations universally apply. Crime is a pretty broad topic, and isn't static.

It’s social background that predominately drives this.

if I look at the North East of England and compare it to say a middle class black area down south, the North East is far ahead on violence, crime etc.

When you have nothing, there are no real rules other that to friends and family, everyone else is just a target.

at present where i used to live it’s a bit unsafe going out at night, in the park there are around 150 or so youths, these are 99% white.

When I lived in Birmingham, which has a high black, Indian, Pakistani mix, yes there were areas of crime, however those were in specific areas, outside of those areas still crime but predominantly white youths.

Social background is the big driver.

Pick any capital city or poor area around the world, it’s social deprivation that drives things, China, Australia, Brazil, it’s going to be local people living in poverty.

The problem is that a lot of counter work has also been done to prove these "academics" are wrong in their assertions and assessments.

The main issue is that the American legal system is institutionally racist. Furthermore, most of the people who require legal aid, and justice, cannot afford it. Or are actively denied it by the state.

This is why you find a lot of disparity between similar cases if the perp is White or rich then they get a more favourable result than if they were Black, Mexican or other.

I suggest you pick up a copy of English with an Accent: Language, Ideology and Discrimination in the United States by Rossina, to learn a bit about how the English language itself enforces racial stereotypes and problems.

Easy, because race does not lead to crime. Poverty does.
I mean people say lots of crime happens in black communities, but there is the Irish Mafia, Italian Mafia, Russian Mafia, and every mafia in between and none of those groups are black.

How does that work? They were all poor in a 'rich' country.
They said, "Fuck this!! If the rich aren't going to give me money, I'll just take it!!"

And they did, and did well, so well in fact, they became legitimate over time.

The only reason they were able to do that is because they are White and America has a "White first, everyone else, fuck 'em!" mentality.

Simply because people tend to struggle with assimilating information that defies previously accepted information; especially if they invested in it in as much as we do when engaging in a debate or argument. If you want an absolutely brilliant examination of this behavior, read “Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error” by Kathryn Schultz. As far as i’m concerned, that book should be mandatory reading at every level of education.

There are multiple possibilities, some more unique than others.
I'd say it comes down to people who wish to push a certain mentality, deny it.
We've entered an age of feels instead of reals, so this offends some or it might offend others, so we have to fight against it.
I understand the argument of not labeling the black population as criminals as it doesn't help them in any way, but the reeducation is one sided.

Imagine spending your entire formative years being reassured that you're special and the reason your life sucks isn't your fault; that you can blame all your problems on white men.

And then imagine finding out that real reason your life sucks is because you don't add value to society.

You're actually wrong, if you are staying facts then you should link these "papers" or "studies". I believe the link is more between socioeconomic background rather than race itself.
