But when some drunk shoots 9 people then we talk, not about the alcohol, but about the guns. Why does alcohol abuse not raise awareness when gun use does? More have died by alcohol related causes in just one year than all the mass shootings in recent history. Wouldn't it be better to just ban alcohol and save all those lives? What are your thoughts?

Both cigarettes and alcohol are not cheap. Gallon for gallon alcohol is more expensive than gas. And cigarettes are not like cheap candy cigarettes. I imagine they are like $6 a pack? That used to be more expensive than a gallon of gas too.
