Do you think drinking has become a problem in the US? People are stressed from lots of things and a lot of people don't know how to deal with all the stress so they turn to alcohol, among other things, like sex and drugs. It is estimated that 88,000 deaths occur each year from alcohol related reasons - 62,000 men and 26,000 women. When a drunk causes an accident that kills 9 people we don't say much. But when some drunk shoots 9 people then we talk, not about the alcohol, but about the guns. Why does alcohol abuse not raise awareness when gun use does? More have died by alcohol related causes in just one year than all the mass shootings in recent history. Wouldn't it be better to just ban alcohol and save all those lives? What are your thoughts?
