I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "get into politics".
Personally, I've taken an interest in politics from an early age. My extended family had politicians for a while, and my education included learning a lot about local government.
I've written to, met, and spoken with politicians before. And honestly, I feel less anxious and more heard by taking simple citizen action.
Looking up and writing to my MLAs about concerns and ideas, speaking with others about politics, being a paying member of a political party, and voting all help me feel a measure of contribution to the world I live in on a day to day basis.
I think I'm happier having as involved a role as I care to. Instead of feeling disenfranchised from my political system, I instead can tell myself I've done what I feel comfortable with as a citizen.
As many probably realize, voting has a direct impact on our quality of life as extremists, fascists, and grifters hand our tax dollars to rich corporations and other bad entities causing lower wages, fewer rights, higher costs, higher medical, a boiling planet, and more violence, while distracting us with culture war bullshit.
Actually i used to talk about politics when i were 9 yo, so i don't know an answer for this question, i were not into politics but i used to know what's going on in my country, specially i saw 2 revolutions happening and it's results, but i started to go deep and know more about the political compass and directions and what everyone wants, it made me realize how the world works and how things is done and how we reached this point and how we try to make things better for everyone.
For your question i can tell you that made me happier than before because i'm always curious about what's around me and politics is feeding my curiosity. 😅
I don't think I've been happier one way or the other. I've followed politics since high school to varying degrees, so it's hard for me to remember what my life was like before that.
I will say this though. Though it doesn't really stress me out, I do want to discuss it less.

. Yeah. I used to think the system works. I used to think the world is fair and just snd that the government and police would prevent any injustice. I used to think people tend to help each other, that the world is trying their best to solve everyoneās problems.
Then I got into politics and learned that politicians are corrupt and that corporations will not only buy the politicians and controll them but also that they will not do absolutely anything for money⦠child labor, (child) slavery, factory farming, wars, destruction of the environment and climate and so on⦠but they do. And politicians let them. Theyāre destroying countless lives, killing the planet, making life miserable for most of usā¦. And instead of stopping them the state protects them.
Ignorance is bliss.
I love politics because I want to know what is going on. A guy on here posted a the question and a video. The video was a guy going out in public and asking people what Joe biden's job was before he became president. About 90% of them have no clue what his job was before that.
They don't see it. When I fill up my gas tanks? Stickers of Biden saying "I did that." Fuck Biden flags, Trump 2024. Everywhere. I've seen one, count it 1, Biden Harris bumper sticker. One rainbow flag flying dbag who had a sign saying "vote blue." Everyone to this day, still wears Trump hats. A favorite bar? Has Trump hats for sale to this day. A local celebrity gay guy frequents this joint. We love him. Why would he frequent this joint and go bar hopping in MAGA Country? We are all inclusive.
@stevienix Yes, let's get @OddBeMe on this take. @OddBeMe, was the election rigged or you voted for the most idiotic Boob that survived the land? Henceforth, you support pedophiles? @oddmebe, Call me an Incel, call me coined terms that were invented for your types. It's old. Come to Butthead. Enter the energy that is the DARK MAGA energy. You will be forgiven.
@bayoubob
I think I blocked him, because I couldn't put up with his shit. And I'm out of questions for the day. I just asked one five minutes ago.
But it would be a good question for you to ask...
"Was the last presidential election rigged, or did you guys seriously vote for a man with dementia?"
LOL
Another good question...
"What disturbed you more. Trump's Tweets, or Ukrainian citizens getting slaughtered by Putin's military?"
You can't fix Libtardism. You can lead them to the troughs of Dark MAGA energy. If they didn't fix themselves the first time after the first Obama regime? Then they did it again, for Obama's second term? Then they voted for Hillary? Then they voted for Biden? And after all, they still stand up for that decrepit old balls daughter diddler racist fuck? That's on them. They are reaping their rewards. It isn't fun, but we'll get through it.
@bayoubob
Imagine if we could divide the country in half. Liberals on one side and conservatives on the other side.
The liberals could then be happy. They could abolish prisons, have open borders, give out free heroin needles, have a $100.00 per hour minimum wage and get rid of cops. What a perfect country they would have.

My happiness has definitely increased after I got interested in politics. Although I dont like federal/nationwide politics too much, I rather focused on the things that affect my state. At least the current governor has a habit of joking (in other words, having a sense of humor) which is %109 a nice thing to see. Especially given the current political climate. At the nation level, politics just seems boring.
I wouldn't say it has affected my happiness but it certainly lowered my view of politics. It's really a inmature and selfish and corrupt system which is rigged to be so boring and ineffective that no one wants to enter it. No wonder that rarely anything good comes out of it.
Not sure... I feel more informed but since then I feel this impending doom. Winning or losing feels like I could end up paying out the ass in taxes and for gas, or it could go worse and the gulags will be waiting for me.
Before. I say we should take ALL liberals, put them on trains and have a shooting gallery for the rest of civilization. I know, I know, I've heard it 100 times, Liberals aren't bad people, they are just stupid. But they are so increasingly stupid it'd be better if they just became extinct.
I'm literally about 98% of the time am a happy person.
I'm just naturally am but the way the politics in my home country of the Dominican Republic specifically regarding the millions of illegal Haitians flooding the country and running amok and trying to steal the Dominican identity with false documents has definitely ruined my happiness to a degree.
I literally can't wait til we get rid of all of them out our territory and finally finish building a wall.
I nevver got into politics. I was thinking of running for State Rep because the current one was a dope. He drowned in his swimming pool one night and I did not want to run against a dead guy so i forgot about it.
If you want to be a happy, well-balanced person, stay faaaaaaaaaaaaar away from politics! It's nothing but trouble.
In my youth, it wasnāt this bad. Politics was interesting and once i could vote, it felt empowering. Itās very different now.
I got happier after I got out of politics. Too many stupid people with strong opinions about things they don't understand.
Its been too long to know. I do know i really enjoy the intellectual discussion of constitutional issues in the same way i enjoy the problem solving in other areas.
Iāve never gotten into politics and Iām pretty happy that I havenāt. Everyone, especially on gag, who gets into politics seem like whiny little kids.
You would have to be a very boring person to find politics interesting.
Some things in politics are interesting, others are very annoying or boring or disgusting.
As a rule I absolutely never discuss religion and politics in any open forum public or private as a rule of thumb personally
we have to get involved we donāt like the way things are going now
My internal political or government body that I go by is not native to America
I am not into politics. It pisses me off someone push their crap.
I wouldn't say I'm into politics. I do have views on politicians.
Politics is not about happy or sad it's about doing what is right for the country
To be honest I'm here for the comments 🍿
My comment is that I'm glad I went in and out of politics.
I learned some things I hint at here
(Seriously) Is it strange to you how every single politician has the digit ratio of the opposite gender? ā
I was happier before Biden got into politics
Lol. You didn't even exist back then. š¤£
@Jamie05rhs well true... u know what I mean š
It really isn't about explanation. He's Obama 2.0. Obama was AIDS the first time around. But you and me? We can see through bullshit. Yet we are Trumptards. Despite everything. We persevere. When will Libs understand this? They can't and they won't. Too much Hollyweird, too much Scientology, too much California, too much killing babies, too much, too much. Touch To Much. They got that kiddy fucker mentality.
Been here a long time
I'm not into politics
I got in because of Rush Limbaugh mostly
I voted D
