I'm not apologizing for WWII atrocities (I'm not sorry)... is it ok to refuse to apologize?

I'll never apologize for what one of my war-mongers ancestors (great grandfather.. don't even know what his name was) did to other people's families long ago in WWII.

I'm fully aware of what happened but I'm not sorry at all. I'm not sorry because I didn't do anything. I'm not him and he's long dead already. Is my refusal to apologize normal? I don't feel I own any explanation at all.

I'm sick and tired of people on youtube or elsewhere still saying ''you guys never apologize nor admit your war atrocities''. In my mind I'm thinking ''you guys? what do I have to do with all this?
