In a country whose currency is the petro dollar, why is the murder of the oil industry at the federal level not leading to articles of imprachment?

Rightly or wrongly, the US dollar is backed by oil. Many other economies depend on the US dollar as well. People’s life savings, retirement and ability to feed their families are being impacted not just by being taken advantage of at the gas pump but by their money being worth less. More of the world is effected by this financial mismanagement than is not. I want to know why the demolition of the dollar is allowed to go unchecked, in some circles even cheered for?

Pretty sure it's backed by the gold reserves in Fort Knox, not oil. The oil industry adds a lot to the economy, but it's not backing the money.

Google the petro dollar. Ever since we switched from agriculture and homesteading to urban industrialization a respectable portion of National decisions have been about searching for, acquiring, or keeping coal or petroleum products. We haven’t been on the gold standard since Nixon finalized Roosevelt’s push to decouple currency from reality and make government that much more powerful. Most of the developed world runs on petroleum and coal, so forcing international trade in those products to be done in US dollars made that the world’s reserve currency because almost all countries need foreign energy.
