Who do you think caused it and who profited from it?
We can talk for hours about responsibilities. I’ll resume briefly what I think about responsibilities in this war… there’s responsibility for each side involved.
Sure the easiest answer gives responsibility to Russians since they attacked a free and independent country and this is unjustifiable.
On the other hand there’s NATO (the US) responsibility, that sees an uncontrolled expansion towards east to encircle Russia. Russia has a fear: to be encircled and to have US missiles at its border.. and that’s the situation created. So Russia attacked Ukraine because of its potential admission into NATO, having US missiles directly at 1000 km from Moscow. Plus, US encouraged war only to supply Ukraine with arms with lend lease, so Ukraine will be obligated to pay back all debts contracted for war…
Thirdly, EU has a role in all this. EU doesn’t have a common strategic view and each country thinks about their square meter of garden without thinking globally. EU chose to act like the puppet of US so: all against Russia, sanctions (useless), arms to Ukraine! There has been no dialogue and no possibility of mediation, since EU suddenly has taken side with US and against Russia (before the war). Ok, Russia claims on Donbas are specious and ridiculous but there are reasons for which Russia has those claims. Maybe with a more profitable dialogue, with a mandatory commitment by Ukraine to stay neutral (like Finland, Austria and Sweden) the conflict would have been avoided.
Last of all, Ukraine. Yes, Ukraine may have a role in all that. But not a recent role, since Ukraine is mainly the victim but an ancient role: they supported nazis against Russians in ww2 and they have a problem with fascists and nazists in their country. Obv Ukraine ISN’T a nazi country but they have a strong anti Russian sentiment and a flourishing nazi movement. Plus their promises to make Donbas republics more independent fell into void, they didn’t declared a special status of autonomy for the two territories.
These are, in my opinion, the responsibilities involved. There’s not a single executioner, but there’s only a single victim: Ukraine population.01 Reply

Biden is basically the one who kept raising fear about Putin getting ready to invade for weeks prior to it happening. I'm not saying Putin didn't have any real intent to do it, but I think with Biden constantly announcing "Look! He's getting ready, he's gonna do it, he's gonna do it, he's gonna do it!" it really just helped encourage Putin in his decision.
If less American mouthiness were involved in the situation, it might not have gotten to this point. And even if it did, instead of shouting about it early on, the better thing to do would have been to already quietly start supplying Ukraine with weapons and aid before the invasion. But American government is full of 1950s locker room jocks and alpha idiots who don't think properly about war situations, or else we would've won Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

So Biden was wrong about Putin? You would invite Putin to your house for dinner, but NOT Biden?

Putin attacked, because he fears NATO is getting too close the Motherland. East European countries are lining up to join the EU. Look at Finland and Sweden.

According to my Ukraine intel briefs, analysts think differently. Yes, Biden was supportive of Ukraine, but that is NOT why Putin invaded.
Putin feared that Ukraine was getting too chummy with the EU. Putin could NOT have Ukraine joining NATO on their doorstep. Putin sees Ukraine as a petulant breakaway, like China sees Taiwan. Putin thinks Ukraine is an internal Russian affair to be dealt with, NOT an independent country. It is NO business of the West. Not to mention Ukraines wealth of natural resources!
lmao how would ukraine or the usa profit from the war- we're literally going broke tryna stop it.

+1 yHonestly, all 3 and the whole UN even. It was Brezhnev who first greedily and stupidly incorporated Russian majority areas, like Crimea and Donbass into Ukraine. Because he was Ukrainian and wanted coal and a coastal resort for his people. The now ex Soviet states already had councils set up, and when the Soviet Union broke appart, they were too lazy to redraw the borders, so they just kept them as they are, leaving pockets of ethnic Russians, inside Ukrainian territory. They should have known that multiculturalism doesn't work, and that something like this would inevitably happened.
Ukraine as a political body didn't even exist until less than a century ago. It was always either part of Poland or part of Russia. If they just sovereignized the Western portion and gave the Russian populated areas to Russia, we wouldn't have any problems. But no, because someone had to have a holiday resort.
00 Reply Put in I believe caused it. If you follow the timeliness including the cyberattacks. The style of invasion follows closely with put in style operationas against Georgia and Ukraine previously and also his involvement in the Syrian war. The 2 countries that have benefitted the most is China first and Russia second.
20 Reply5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Russia is the country that invaded Ukraine. Twice now. There's plenty of scummy stuff behind the scenes that the Ukrainian government, UK, USA, EU, and China have been doing to encourage the war to happen, but it's ultimately the Kremlin that made the call to go ahead.

Ukraine won't surrender because its the natural response. Usa is playing with them to make a strong image to the world because they want to be feared and always in stay in the action. Thats why they get involved. They dont really care whats happening over the sea. This is Usa vs Russia and Europe is their colony. You see countries have different names than Usa but that doesn't mean they dont control them.
00 ReplyThe US/Nato agreed to stop their Eastward expansion to Russia doorstep if Russia agreed to dissolve the Warsaw pact and give neighboring countries their independence. Russia did so but the US/nato continued their eastward March with the US massing forces in Ukraine on Russia doorstep. The US didn't tolerate Russian missiles in Cuba so why should Russia?

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yThe US is at fault. In 2014 US carried out a coup in Ukraine to install a US puppet leader, and since than has continued to push Ukraine into NATO when it should remain neutral. US should have stayed out of Ukraine's business, and left them stay neutral with a president of their own choosing.

The United States might be guilty of a lot of thing, but the situation in Ukraine is not one of them.
In 2014 the people of Ukraine had their own peaceful revolution, they threw off the yoke of a Russian puppet. The US had nothing to do with it. The US supported the idea that Ukraine joined NATO, but at the same time accepted Germany‘s, France‘s and Italy‘s veto against it. Generally, every country has the freedom to join the alliances they wish.
