Don't be so sure he backed out. He's crazy like a fox. Twitter makes it's money from ads. That means Twitter's value is based on membership numbers. Elon discovered how many of those "members" were just bots.

Twitter is taking Elon to court now, but Elon will win. He can tell the judge that he intended to buy Twitter for 44 billion, but then he found out he'd be buying a pig in a poke.
