Commies desperately want to rewrite history to shift blame from themselves to their adversaries. Democrats were the problem in the south, before they got their butt kicked and left for the North East, Midwest, and West Coast during the Great Migration. With the Sunbelt Migration Republican G. I. s from WWII started to migrate to the south in large numbers which caused a shift in political power. Commies think people are dumb enough to believe the Republicans that migrated to the south are the Democrats who had slave plantations in the south, created Jim Crow laws, and redlined minorities with the New Deal laws. It's the old bait-and-switch. Democrats are dumb so they easily propagate their propaganda within their ranks, but southerns know better.

That was pretty much the slave owners, their close business partners, and some of their slaves. The rest of the south wasn't even involved. After the civil war had ravaged the infrastructure of the south, many southern Democrats sold their land in the south because they could no longer economically compete. They then reinvested their fortunes in construction companies that focused on rail roads, bridges, and other road projects, mining and refining operations, manufacturing, etc. in the North East, Midwest, and West Coast. Free slaves who found it next to impossible to find work, typically followed their old masters to the new locations for steady work. Those who struggled and didn't make it often ended up in jail and then through convict leasing ended up right back with the Democrat slave masters working in mines or on roads. It's easy to see where the slavers went, all you have to do is look for the large Black populations in NYC, Newark, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. all of which are Democrat today. Same families, they just moved to greener pastures.

Part of being proud of my Canadian heritage is being ashamed that the government has signed treaties with First Nations people that haven't been honoured since the 1890s. Shame is the appropriate response to such bullshit, and so is donating to Every Child Matters and voting for people who will actually focus on reparations and improving the lives of our First Nations.
