And this has got me thinking, is it the same in America with state borders? How easy are they to cross? Are they well sign posted or is it a small sign on a lamppost behind a bush?

You can move freely between states. However there are at least two states that I know of that have agricultural checkpoints (California and Arizona). Those states are major agriculture states and the checkpoints help control diseases and insects that are harmful to crops. The type of things they check for change over time. It's usually just a quick stop where they ask if you are bringing in any fruits or vegetables. If it's on the current banned list they can confiscate it. They might look in the windows and on rare occasions have you open your trunk and ice chests if you have any.
Going back and forth between the US and Canada used to be pretty open. It was also a quick stop where they asked a few questions. At most they would have you open your trunk. At least a couple of times when the lines at the border got long, I've had them just wave cars through without stopping, if they had a US or Canadian license plate. There are no check points between Canadian provinces either.
There are no checkpoints or stations that confirm any identification. US citizens are free to move about from state to state unimpeded. However, in some states commercial trucks must stop for inspections to weight the truck and determine whether it is over the maximum weight for the roads, and for an agricultural inspection (to limit the spread of diseases from one state to another.)
On major highways, state lines are very well marked. There may be backroads which are unmarked.

In Texarkana there are about 40 streets where you can cross State Line Road (Ave) and all have street signs but none are marked entering Texas or Arkansas. I30 has a sign.
Cross state borders lol... uh uhm so here is how you do it:
1) Approach the border under the speedlimit with the car in d and the right foot on the gas (right pedal)
2) continue doing step 1 until you reach the border
3) continue doing step 1 and 2 on the border and then continue still for a few more minutes or hours depends on your destination
Congratulations: you have successfully crossed the state border
Some people do it in a jet @exitseven
I thought you'd been here before.
No border controls here for passenger vehicles. Some commercial vehicles (like large trucks) may have to stop and weigh when entering some states.

I haven’t traveled extensively enough to suggest honestly that it’s the same everywhere, but traveling between states is very similar. There’s usually a sign and rarely a checkpoint. There are sometimes toll stations if you’re on a toll road, cuz US states, not unlike US citizens, don’t like to share. Ell oh ell! Only time i’ve had to stop at a checkpoint was when i was moving to a different state. It was at the California and Nevada border, and i was driving a uhaul. Maybe they thought i was smuggling in contraband or whatever. No biggie.
It’s hard- there are always armed guards controlling exit as well as entry, and they check your social credit score to see if the federal government has authorized movement, especially if you are using a privately-owned vehicle rather than public transportation. If you’ve been naughty and said something a leftist doesn’t like, you may not be allowed to cross state lines.
In depends on the State. In North Carolina, we have some good ol' boys who sit at the border and guage how liberal you are before they let you in. If you have a bumper sticker that says 'Darwin' or 'Coexist' you'll definitely get pulled over. And don't stop and ask for directions or you'll end up in California.
California has an agricultural check, to prevent non-native plants and bugs from getting into the state from somewhere across the country. Essentially, they just ask you if you are bringing in any fruits, vegetables, or plants, and if so, they want to inspect them. Most things are very cursory - if you're bringing in an apple or banana, they're going to take about 2 seconds to look at them. But if you're bringing in potted plants or less common fruits that, say, may have tropical bugs, they take a closer look.
That's really it, though, and this is only because California has so much agriculture that they need to protect it from non-native species.
It's similar in the US. No need for a passport or other ID, and no checkpoints, save for the police cars typically just inside the border to ticket speeders. There's usually a large sign saying Welcome to State with the governor's name on it as a cheap political ad. On the main Interstate highways (motorways) there is usually a visitors center with info about the state, rest rooms and places to buy food.
There is just a sign saying welcome to what ever state it is.
Sometimes the pavement can change in the roads, but that is it.
In Southern New York there is a road that crosses the river then you are in Pennsylvania, and when the road crosses the river again you are back I'm New York.
You see signs on major highways but on the back roads they are not as prevalent. There are no checkpoints but there are often toll booths set up to grab your money as soon as you cross the border.
Interstate 90 in the Northeast s well-known for having a tollbooth just as you enter each state.
@AviatorTom I drove I-90 all the way to Cleveland. I had an ashtray full of quarters.
It's the same here. Major highways have big signs, smaller roads have small signs or none at all. Except Illinois, they don't have signs, they don't want people to know they're there.
State and national borders have about the same level of scrutiny at this point, which is why there is fentanyl or other drugs on almost every city street corner and the competition for low wage jobs is more intense than it has ever been in US history, a competition which statistically hurts minorities more. Well done leftists.
In the USA, there may or may not be a small sign. However, nothing prevents you from driving across state borders.
48 of the states are easy to drive through. Alaska and Hawaii are a little more difficult. Alaska requires you to drive through Canada and there are parts of Canada where you can be stranded if you did not plan properly for fuel. Hawaii requires a ship or flight.
Other than the obstacles listed above, crossing from and even moving states is very easy.
Once you get to one, you just cross it! We did it constantly!! We were always playing gigs in Ohio, W. Va., Va. It's only when you wanna go to Canada or Mexico that they'll stop you and ask for a passport. Well, they used to, now, you just cross any damn time you want and nobody says a fucking word about it!!
A lot of people live on the border! They live ion one state and, if they go out front and cross the street, they're in another state. In at least one place, I think it's where Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada meet, there's a sort of plaque in the ground that shows you the borders of all 4 states and you can actually be in 4 states at the same time!
There was a hotel that Marilyn Monroe used to go to where, half of it was in California and the other half was in Nevada.
It really depends on the state, but in general it’s very well marked with a big “Now Entering...” or “Thanks for visiting...” sign. Out West it’s no problem. It can get a little uncertain when you’re going through parts of the South. In some areas there are very deep ravines, lakes, dams, or roads that had to wind around a steep mountain, so sometimes you’ll be driving and wonder, “where am I? Is this Tennessee still?” 🤷♂️
Highways are the ones with the big state signs. We can cross state boarders freely. We do have toll roads where you have to pay a certain amount. Truckers do get inspected so they are not overweight. Going in and out of Canada or Mexico you do have check points when driving.
Well, let me enlighten you... of course the signs have to be big enough for the police to hide behind! :-)
Unless you are in legal trouble you can go to any state freely. There are plenty of places you can crossover and not even know you changed states.
You'll see a big sign on the side of the road that says "now entering whatever state" and you just keep on driving.
Going from state to state is just like that.. just a sign.. but going from the USA to Another country is a big ordeal crossing the boarder
My American friends say it's basically the same as the UK.
I'm not sure that's a good thing in a country 3000 miles across that says a felon who has served their sentence may not cross state lines...
No problem what so ever*
There is usually a sign that welcomes you to the state.
*Except Florida- if your IQ is too high they won't let you in.
Very easy. Half the time you don't even realize you've crossed into another state
Only Alaska and Hawaii can provide a bit of a challenge and that’s for specific geographical reasons… though Hawaii is very concerned with invasive species as well.
we have signs saying you are leaving state x to state x.
even when you go to another county, we have signs
Between states? It's a breeze. You see a sign that says "Welcome to [State]" and that's that. America's constitution forbids government restriction on movement of private citizens.
In the United States we can go from state to stay without having concerns. Some states like California have restrictions on food coming into the state. When we want to go to Canada or Mexico we must have passports.
there's just a sign saying "Welcome to XYZ". drive or walk... no problems ever.
You can easily drive between states. There's no real border control between them.
Same thing in America. The retarded videos of checkpoints are just that. I've been to many states and never seen one
Does this word mean Wales in Welsh?
”Logres”
Just the same. There is usually a sign, at least on the major roads welcoming you to the state.
Sounds like you're thinking of the US Canada border. I'd say the US Mexico border, but apparently they've just let it fall to chaos.
It is just the same as passing from county to county in the UK. with the exception of Freeways there are few if any signs.
There are no restrictions from going state to state. I would know, I have been in a vehicle from Arizona all the way to Maine.
It's exactly the same. The federal government even builds road ways to connect all the states. Except Hawaii and Alaska. Obviously.
POC piece of cake 🎂 You would see a sign and nav system would welcome you to next state
Thanks for like!
Welcome to the state of... *
Easy, there are signs about entering a new state, but that's about it.
You just drive by a sign. I’ve driven in seven states in one day.
Step A , get into your car, Step B depress the gas pedal and drive accross the border Lol
You just cross them. Fly from NY to LA or drive from Alabama to Washington you just do it. No big deal
Its like blinking your eyes.
Everything is open. No specific crossing points.
Lets be real the uk is just like the us
In fact the uk should be called the usb for united states of britain. United kingdom lol
Nah, we allow abortion here, are not run by religious fuckwits, do not have mass shootings, and it’s a While since we had people storm our seat of government (5 people from countryside alliance).
So no nothing like the US, oh and we have proper chocolate,
@ChrisMaster69 you wanna talk about chocolate. America has way more black men
There are just road signs saying welcome.
Free to roam within the continental US!
watch videos on youtube...
Always well posted
Just WELCOME signs That is it
Very easy with the biden regime
