Many interesting guesses, a few got it right.
This is a colorized picture of Winston Churchill in 1885. He later replaced Neville Chamberlain as British Prime Minister and led the country through World War II. History notes how he manipulated FDR to get the Americans to enter the war. He is also the person who coined the term "Iron Curtain."

The picture looks familiar. I think I know who it is but I'm not positive. If it's who I think it is I didn't know they had color photography then. I have no idea when color photography started but I don't remember seeing color pictures that early.

Here is a great documentary about his life.

You dont have to like him and there are certainly reasons not to, especially when viewed through the lens of cancel culture but there is simply no question that he was truly one of the greatest men to ever live, his contributions are astonishing and even the grim reaper of death himself was forced to bow to his will.

A living legend in his own time.

How desperately the world needs now men of such duty, conscience and conviction.

No FDR went to Harvard. It's a not an America, it's grenaedier uniform, with bear skin hat. Has to be British I should of know that... Churchill is my guess.

Ahhh... Tom he didn't manipulate the US into the War... Japan bombed Pearl Habor. And the US and the UK wanted to bleed the Russians and Nazi. But to imply anyone manipulated FDR is a stretch especially when its mutually beneficial to both parties.

FDR was no chump and arguably one of the greatest and most impacted President in history.

@DaveJord Before Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, Churchill convinced FDR to send help (ships, supplies, planes) to Britain, which took a lot of skill since the US was isolationist. Even after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, there was no reason for the US to declare war against Germany, except that Hitler was stupid enough to declare war on the US, citing its alliance with Japan.

I agree that FDR is up there as one of the great presidents, and maybe "manipulate" is too harsh, but Churchill used the UK-US friendship to Britain's benefit. He knew that without the US, Germany woudl have won the war.

Well I agree and I am not taking anything away from Churchill obviously he was a skilled statesmen no doubt. FDR knew the US would have to eventually get involved, it was just a matter of how and when.

But of course with the special "Friendship" US might sacrifice France, but we would never let the UK fall... then or now. But yes manipulate might of been too harsh... FDR was a very skilled statesman as well... guess that's my only piont.

It's not "coined", it's, quoined.
In the old days of printing when the scribe had to build each article using lead bits in the shapes of letters, in order to lock them into place, when he was finished, he'd use these metal bars called, quoins. each one had a hole in the center where he's stick his quoin key and give it a turn or two to tighten up the quoins to lock them in place.
As for Winnie bullshitting FDR into getting involved in the war, FDR WANTED to go to war, anyway so that all his buddies like, Henry Ford and all the other war machine manufacturers could get rich. Ford really made a killing, quite literally, because he also built stuff for Hitler!! Not only did he build it, he helped finance Hitler because Ford hated Jews, too! I don't know if Disney helped Hitler but, he was the same way as Ford! If he found out somebody working for him was a Jew, he got fired on the spot!!
