Why when birth control is suggested to avoid abortions people on G@G say birth control doesn't work?

That is a pretty serious statement and it could actually discourage younger people from trying birth control. If they double up on birth control it should be pretty effective. Which birth control methods do not work and why don't they?

Maybe they are trying to say that a woman needs to be more intuned with their body and know what medication doesn’t counteract birth control meds. Or maybe just the proper way to use birth control.

They are effective when used properly but none are 100% besides abstinence.
Also, some forms of bc aren’t recommended for some pre-existing conditions. And some people get freaked out by putting hormones in your body.

I don't think that they mean that it doesn't work at all. I think they mean that it isn't a substitute for bodily autonomy. Yes, because it's not 100 percent effective, but also because user error exists, and that shouldn't be penalized by having your body be treated as an incubator for a being that you don't want.

Also, plenty of people don't want to use hormonal birth control, and that's 100 percent fine. I'm not saying that they use nothing. I'm just saying that some people prefer to stick with condoms, because birth control can have some serious repercussions on your health. I don't want to take hormonal birth control, because it changes your body's chemistry, and can permanently increase your risk of certain cancers, and fertility problems. IUDs can also cause permanent damage to the uterus, so I wouldn't feel comfortable getting one of those until after I knew I was done having kids.

Personally, I don't think I would get an abortion if an unwanted pregnancy were to occur. I want kids some day, and I'm financially stable enough that I could handle it. I'm also not one for hookups, and I'm extremely picky about who I date. But I fully believe that other people should have the right to choose differently. Pregnancy permanently changes your body, and childbirth is terrifying. No one should be forced to go through it if they don't want to.

I beg to differ! Giving birth to my son was NOT "terrifying" at all! See, you need to stop planting untrue statements here, because just by you saying that child birth is "terrifying" could scare a girl into having an abortion so she won't have to go through something so terrible.
I am here to say that giving birth to my son did have some expected pain with it, but it wasn't so bad that I was screaming like they show in movies and tv shows. They are actors and that is an act.
If giving birth was so terrifying, then why does a woman give birth to multiple babies? And why are there 8 billion people in our world? Quit scaring people with untrue statements here on GaG because it changes people's lives. ☮️

I want a big family. And I know that it isn’t traumatic for everyone. I’ve also done a lot of research into how to give birth without an epidural.

But to deny that it can be, especially if you don’t want the child, is just plain naive. I’m glad that your childbirth experience wasn’t traumatic. Unfortunately, however, that experience isn’t shared by everyone. Do some research.

Also, the main thing that scares me isn’t childbirth itself. It’s my own personhood being denied. It’s being treated as an incubator.

So many women have told hospitals, for example, that they want to give birth in an upright position. Because it’s healthier, faster, and less painful. The hospital will say that that’s okay. And then when the baby is being born, and the woman is not in a fit state to fight anyone, she will be pushed onto her back by the hospital staff and held there while the baby is being born.

Of course, it isn’t exactly news that women’s bodies are often abused at hospitals. In many (if not most) states, for example, it’s perfectly legal for pelvic exams to be performed on unconscious patients who were admitted for something completely unrelated, without the patient’s consent or even knowledge. The doctor will invite a whole bunch of medical students into the room and have them practice on the patient. If you don’t believe me, look it up.

I’m not surprised that people are celebrating the autonomy of women being even further reduced. It’s been happening for all of human history. I just find it disgusting, and yes, terrifying. Because we’re not seen as people. Just bodies with which strangers can do what they want. If you think that it will end with abortion rights, get your head out of the sand and look around.

It's because this topic has nothing to do with birth control, pregnancy or babies. It's now just a pissing contest. I asked a question about if anyone agrees with Chucky Schumer. He wants women to be able to abort their babies minutes before birth. Not one person on this site had the guts to agree with Chucky.

They talk tough when it's just a "clump of cells", but when it's obviously a baby, their "my body my choice" argument doesn't hold water.

I'm a HUGE fan of birth control. There are so many options available.
Every girlfriend I ever had was on the pill. I estimate that I've cummed inside women over 5000 with never a mishap.

I hate condoms. Wearing one during sex is like partial sex or simulated sex. Skin has nerve endings. And with a condom, neither person can feel skin sliding against skin. What would you feel if you petted a soft, furry kitten while wearing surgical gloves? Plus a man can't feel the woman's juice. And juiciness is one of best parts about sex.

Birth control is poison. We should be educating women on how their cycle works not medicating them to prevent pregnancy. And yes lots of them fail cuz they aren't 100%. I know people that have has a tubal or vasectomy and they failed so even doing that isn't 100.

@Cubus of course most medical is just for a financial gain and to control society. I get some women seriously need it if they have issues but doctors/parents/social media tries to push it that all women having sex NEED to be on birth control. Like most women don't really need it if they learn their 6 day fertile window and can actually have control in preventing/planning their pregnancies.
