I am all for:
- having nation wide state sponsored contraceptive options for both women and men
- allowing girls of any age obtain contraceptive at public schools without needing parental consent
- investing more money into contraceptive research and development. They say no contraceptive is 100% effective but they are getting close.
- reforming and streamlining adoption programs. There are lots of infertile couples who are waiting months even years to adopt a child.
If all these pro life and pro choice groups put half the effort into putting together initiatives to prevent unwanted pregnancies vs. going ballistic over their ideologies than abortion would be what is supposed to be: safe, legal and rare. It would only be necessary for scenarios of involving rape, incest, danger to the mothers life. Also if prenatal testing determines there is something seriously wrong with the baby (deformities, Down syndrome, etc) it may be justified in some cases.
Just my thoughts. By why can’t more people get on board with this idea above? It would actually save money (and lives) if it was applied thoroughly.
